Dylan Posted 7 February 2011 Posted 7 February 2011 A bit bored.... but my current World XI would be something like: Valdes S Ramos Puyol Vidic A Cole Xavi Iniesta Fabregas Messi Tevez Ronaldo More of an attacking view, but oh well.

I am Rod Hull Posted 7 February 2011 Posted 7 February 2011 + Bale. He's better than Ronaldo you know. Casillas RB- Maicon ( even though he got ripped apart by Bale <_< ) CB- Lucio CB- Pique LB- Coentrao? Apparently he's great, couldn't tell you myself RW- Ronaldo CM- Xavi CM- Sneijder CM- Iniesta LW- Messi CF- Tevez
Bert Posted 7 February 2011 Posted 7 February 2011 Bale's nowhere near the top 20 in the world. I've got pace but it doesn't make me the best amateur in football, which is a lot of how Bale beats his man. Casillas Ramos A.Cole Vidic Pique Iniesta Xavi Sneijder Messi Ronaldo Tevez/Rooney
Dilkes Posted 7 February 2011 Posted 7 February 2011 Casillas Ramos Puyol Dani Alves Iniesta Xavi King Tevez Messi Villa Ronaldo
shen Posted 7 February 2011 Posted 7 February 2011 Valdes .... just I'd go for Casillas Alves Vidic Chiellini Lahm Sneijder Essien Xavi Messi Eto'o Ronaldo
Ashley Posted 8 February 2011 Posted 8 February 2011 Casillas Ramos Puyol Vidic A.Cole Fabregas/Sneijder Iniesta Xavi Messi Villa/Torres/Rooney/Tevez (Hard choice) Ronaldo

Haydos Posted 8 February 2011 Posted 8 February 2011 Bale's nowhere near the top 20 in the world. I've got pace but it doesn't make me the best amateur in football, which is a lot of how Bale beats his man. You must have forgotten his dribbling, delivery, finishing and teamwork. Mine would be: GK - Casillas RB - Dani Alves CB - Puyol CB - Lucio LB - Philip Lahm CM - Xavi CM - Fabregas (Essien if you fancy a bit of balance) CM - Iniesta RW - Messi ST - Villa LW - Ronaldo Bench: Neuer Pique Y. Toure Sneijder Ozil Eto'o Van Persie
Langston Posted 8 February 2011 Posted 8 February 2011 Bench: Neuer There is no way Manuel Neuer is the second best 'keeper in the world, he's almost embarassingly over rated. For me, as well as many other observers, he's not even the best in Germany. A more than adequate shot stopper, yes, but his commanding of his area leaves a lot to be desired, and he's prone to lapses of concentration. Rene Adler is a far better rounded goalkeeper than him, much more complete. My XI: Casillas Maicon Lucio Vidic Cole Gerrard Xavi Sneijder Robben Ronaldo Messi

I could make an argument against Robben I probs would have gone with Reina or Julio Cesar but I fancied being a bit different Also, I love his technique, breath of fresh air if you ask me.
Langston Posted 8 February 2011 Posted 8 February 2011 Arjen Robben is one of the most breath taking players on the planet, when on song. The Bayern squad is littered with top quality players (Schweinsteiger, Ribery, Lahm et al), but Robben was the driving force behind their remarkable Champions League run, scoring a few absolute worldies in the process. In the last season or two he's managed to realise that potential that we all knew he had as a youth, be it in Holland, or at Chelsea. That's why there was so much hype about him in the build up to South Africa, because he's now become the player he was always threatening to be. Were it not for consistent injury troubles, he'd be in that bracket with the very elite players. Ronaldo and Messi aside, there isn't a finer winger in football.

Wymsey Posted 9 February 2011 Posted 9 February 2011 Based on current form, I agree with Dickie Greenleaf's.
Ford Super Sunday Posted 9 February 2011 Posted 9 February 2011 Barcelona's regular first team. Can't get a world XI TEAM (key word) better than that at the moment.
