Haydos Posted 6 March 2011 Posted 6 March 2011 brfc24 who posts on here said he's on nothing near 40K a week and he's got very, very close links to a City player. TAKE IT AS YOU WISH. Both of you: Why would players know what new loan signings are on?
Bugg Posted 6 March 2011 Posted 6 March 2011 Both of you: Why would players know what new loan signings are on? Cause they tell them
rams r4 sh*ggin Posted 6 March 2011 Posted 6 March 2011 Yakubu has virtually scored one in two since he arrived. He's doing a fairly decent job. I don't know what people expect/expected from him to be honest. He doesn't run around non-stop for ninety minutes. Does that make him lazy? No. He's a very clever player, doesn't wear himself out and gets into positions lesser strikers wouldn't have the brains to move into. He's not been a consistently decent top flight striker for so long without reason, but what do I know, eh? Let's call him Fat Yak instead and start a campaign to bring Hume back. He ran around lots. and the fact he hasnt had much game time before coming to us. a regular playing yakubu over the whole season could be devastating in this division. his goals to games ratio for us is by far the best any of our own strikers can muster so far this season.
muzzyisalegend Posted 6 March 2011 Posted 6 March 2011 Yakubu is a premier league quality striker, no doubt. People say he's lazy, I don't think he is, he's a goal-getter, not a work-horse. Lineker was a goal-getter, you wouldn't hear his name mentioned until he popped up 6 yards out and banged one in, no-one would ever call him lazy though (and no, I'm not saying the Yak is on a par with the great Lineker either, who is my footballing hero!). All i'm saying is he doesn't waste time chasing around like a headless chicken after lost causes, he waits for his oppurtunity. He's the best quality striker City have had in quite some time. Yes, he misses chances, but at least he's there to miss 'em!! He can't score every chance that comes his way!!
enex Posted 6 March 2011 Posted 6 March 2011 wasnt sven trying to bring in Michael Johnson from Man City to strengthen the midfield?
ealingfox Posted 6 March 2011 Posted 6 March 2011 Yak's been here two months or so, and has already scored potentially our goal of the season.
accessory Posted 6 March 2011 Posted 6 March 2011 Yak's been here two months or so, and has already scored potentially our goal of the season. Really? I thought Naughton had that award in the bag..
Adster Posted 6 March 2011 Posted 6 March 2011 Really? I thought Naughton had that award in the bag.. Hence why he said potentially.
Messi Posted 6 March 2011 Posted 6 March 2011 Josh McEachran or Barry Bannan for Midfield to replace Oakley/Abe.
ealingfox Posted 6 March 2011 Posted 6 March 2011 Naughton v Barnsley? Have seen a few excellent goals this season but all things considered think my vote is between Yak v Derby and King v Leeds...
ibbosuk Posted 6 March 2011 Posted 6 March 2011 Yak 0 in 3 (In the 3 most important games of the season, the last 3) I like him ...But is he worth the 50,000 per week ? We need a goal a game off him till the end of the season. Or in technical terms 15 = Pass Less than 15 = OYB,B2E >{';'~)%<.?@+_) ........................
StanSP Posted 6 March 2011 Posted 6 March 2011 You don't expect much do you?! And again, 50k a week. Where'd that figure come from??
Sniffer-Clarke Posted 6 March 2011 Posted 6 March 2011 Its got to be a finisher chances went begging yesterday
lcfc_jme Posted 6 March 2011 Posted 6 March 2011 Josh McEachran or Barry Bannan for Midfield to replace Oakley/Abe. Yeah, it makes sense to just ship out one or both of arguably our best performers yesterday. Properly sensible, that. As for the debate on Yakubu, God give me some fvcking strength. We have supporters that cheered Hume, Fryatt (who fails to get into position as much as the Yak and misses more easy chances), Dickov, Cadamarteri and Horsfield, but feel YAKUBU is NOT good enough?! I seriously don't know why I bother replying to you people and why some of you bother to attend fvcking football matches. If we had the wingers to play 4-4-2, Yak and Waggy / Vassel as a strike force would tear this league a new arsehole and would probably be a complete handful in the PL as well. Yes the Yak doesn't make dashes into the 6 yard box but he creates space for the likes of King to burst forward unnoticed. Why? Because defenders are shit fvcking scared of him and focus all of their efforts onto nullifying his threat. If the Yak actually had a strike partner, the space he creates could be perfect for said partner to poach in the 6 yard box.
The Doctor Posted 6 March 2011 Posted 6 March 2011 needless to say i agree with jme. The yak has scored 4 in 9 since arriving, a gpg ration of 1 every 2.25 games. If you lot think that's not good enough but martyn (1 every 3.9) waghorn and steve (1 every 4.3) howard are and matt (1 every 3) fryatt, geoff (1 every 6.5) horsfield, barry (1 every 15) hayles, paul (1 every 3.13) dickov, mark (1 every 5.7) de vries, danny (1 every 11) cadamarteri, dj (1 every 9.2) campbell and iain (1 every 3.9) hume were then god help us. (also please note that waghorn, howard, campbell and fryatts stats are from upto the end of last season and due to their poor gpg ratio this season will actually be worse than that)
Haydos Posted 6 March 2011 Posted 6 March 2011 You don't expect much do you?! And again, 50k a week. Where'd that figure come from?? No mate, it's a goal a game or he's shit. That's how it works, I thought you got the memo. Leicester ******, leicester ******, we're leicester ****** and we're going up/staying down <_<
ajthefox Posted 6 March 2011 Posted 6 March 2011 Yak 0 in 3 (In the 3 most important games of the season, the last 3) I like him ...But is he worth the 50,000 per week ? We need a goal a game off him till the end of the season. Or in technical terms 15 = Pass Less than 15 = OYB,B2E >{';'~)%<.?@+_) ........................ Some of the stuff in here is absolute dribble just like the above. Where were all you moaners before Cardiff when we'd won 5 on the bounce and 6 of the last 7. Some of you really do live to moan.
jamiegoode Posted 6 March 2011 Posted 6 March 2011 Doesnt matter if hes on £1 a week or £250,000 if he performs well, works well in the team and does his job, and gets a couple of goals im very happy. [the fact we even managed to get a prem striker is great for us] We were looking at relegation at the beginning now, with players like Yak we are looking at trying to break into the play-offs [secure league position, building for next season!
jamiegoode Posted 6 March 2011 Posted 6 March 2011 On the wages argument, aslong as he performs to whats needed of him then hes entitle to what ever, plus im sure theres players in our team that get paid alot even though they havent performed well or have been awful.
TheUltimateWinner Posted 6 March 2011 Posted 6 March 2011 Bradley Wright-Phillips ? Put a 30K Fee in and he will be ours
Fox92 Posted 6 March 2011 Posted 6 March 2011 Definetly a striker. Once we take Yakubu off, we have no other goal threat because Waghorn is not good enough. In contrast to our squad, Warnock plays it well at QPR or wherever he's been by getting lots of strikers. So when he takes off, for example, Taarabat yesterday (their best player), another good player is coming on (Miller) who consequently scores. Once, Sven takes off Yakubu we have no other option/goal threat. Yakubu may be lazy and may be rubbish during a game, but he just offers that threat that Waghorn/Gallagher hasn't got.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 6 March 2011 Posted 6 March 2011 we should sign fernando Torres on loan yeah good idea
