TheUltimateWinner Posted 8 April 2011 Posted 8 April 2011 BRISTOL Rovers defender Danny Coles has paid a glowing tribute to on-loan goalkeeper Conrad Logan by saying: "He's the best I've ever worked with." Logan has played a pivotal role in Rovers' recent upturn in form following a string of man-of-the-match displays since arriving from Leicester in February. The Irishman's latest heroics between the posts helped the Pirates secure a backs-to-the-wall single-goal success over Bournemouth on Tuesday night to lift Stuart Campbell's side out of the bottom four for the first time since December. Coles said: "Conrad has been outstanding. I'd say he is probably the best goalkeeper I've ever worked with. It's not only about the saves he makes on the pitch; it's his all-round presence about the place. "He's a fantastic man to have in the changing room and a real character. The more important thing for us is that his football ability is second to none. He's been our best player since he arrived and all credit to him for that. It is not easy coming into a team that was in our situation at the time." Quotes From BR Forum: I agree. He is one of the best keepers since I have been going (late 90's)One Conrad Logan! Yep, I would go along with that, the signing part that is ! He pulled off a save over at Griffin park the other week that was breathtaking, almost 'Banks' like, even the Bees fans were applauding, a class act. Never in million years would we be able to afford him. An excellent Championship keeper who has played quite a few games for Leicester. I'm thinking he is worth at least £1/2M, way out of our price range.
Guest Basildon Fox Posted 8 April 2011 Posted 8 April 2011 £1-2 million?!? Think the poster may have meant half a million. Still Logan - half a million They must have had some right shite between the sticks since Nigel Martin!!
MC Prussian Posted 8 April 2011 Posted 8 April 2011 Third-choice goalkeeper is such an underrated job. Glad he's doing so well down there. If he's happy at Rovers and the fans praise him that much, they should do everything in their hands to keep (read: sign) him.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 8 April 2011 Posted 8 April 2011 This thread has reminded me to check if BR manager Stuart Campbell was the same as our former player (it's a fairly common name) and it is. Chuffed for the guy. As has been said elsewhere, he's probably found his level. Which might improve him, still young for a keeper. Time will tell.
ajthefox Posted 8 April 2011 Posted 8 April 2011 Good on him. He's been here for ages and never really got a proper look in so I've got a lot of respect for him for that.
MattyFromLE Posted 8 April 2011 Posted 8 April 2011 Good on him. He's been here for ages and never really got a proper look in so I've got a lot of respect for him for that. Longest serving current player IIRC?
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 8 April 2011 Posted 8 April 2011 Well done Conrad - best of luck for the future
topharry123 Posted 8 April 2011 Posted 8 April 2011 maybe all he needed was a few games under his belt. Not been impressed with his leicester form, but if he can do this when and if he gets back then great.
Mack Posted 8 April 2011 Posted 8 April 2011 I'm not at all surprised he is doing well in the lower leagues, it's where he belongs.
sdb Posted 8 April 2011 Posted 8 April 2011 Please don't anybody say he should be given (another) chance here. Pleased for him, and I hope they manage to cough up the £2mill
Fox1651 Posted 8 April 2011 Posted 8 April 2011 Please don't anybody say he should be given (another) chance here. Pleased for him, and I hope they manage to cough up the £2mill 2 mill .2 mill maybees?
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 8 April 2011 Posted 8 April 2011 Love the 'excellent Championship keeper' line.
Joe. Posted 8 April 2011 Posted 8 April 2011 Well that was entertaining. Glad he's done well for himself there, but jesus. If you think he's worth £1-2 million boys, please, do tell all your friends.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 8 April 2011 Posted 8 April 2011 I reckon we could quote your espadrille at half a million boys, Joe.
LCFCmatt Posted 8 April 2011 Posted 8 April 2011 Not that bad a keeper. Portsmouth 6-0 game. None were his fault. 5 were Morrison's fault, and the other was a fluke. Only notable mistake was West Brom, but if you look at Weale's miskick at Derby last year and Old Rick most of the time, he's done alright. And he's only young. Championship quality in a year or two.

The first was morro's fault, the second an unfortunate deflection but the other four he should perhaps have done better for.
Mack Posted 9 April 2011 Posted 9 April 2011 Cracking goal costing drop against WBA reserves in the Carling Cup is my abiding memory.
LCFCmatt Posted 9 April 2011 Posted 9 April 2011 Cracking goal costing drop against WBA reserves in the Carling Cup is my abiding memory. We were never going to win anyway
Guest Bilo Posted 9 April 2011 Posted 9 April 2011 Fair play to him. Unlikely to make it here now but a good servant to the club, always plugged away and a real grafter. I'm wishing him all the best anyway.
