StanSP Posted 10 April 2011 Posted 10 April 2011 Guesing it was Yak who set him up? Very inventive. Like it. And unlucky for Wellens not to finish it. Would have capped a great afternoon!

LCFCmatt Posted 10 April 2011 Posted 10 April 2011 It was Vassell who set him up pal Vassell should defo start next game in place of yak
Les-TA-Jon Posted 10 April 2011 Posted 10 April 2011 I wanted that more than gally's third. Vassell kept the ball like it was glued to his feet - excellent flick and amazing volley. We were all celebrating.
StanSP Posted 10 April 2011 Posted 10 April 2011 Ah right. Either way would have been a quality assist.
Fox92 Posted 10 April 2011 Posted 10 April 2011 Vassell should defo start next game in place of yak Why? Yakubu is the only player in the squad who has that goal threat. A player who can change a game or convert a chance out of nothing. I know Gallagher, Van Aanholt and Kamara scored the goals yesterday but Yakubu has that poaching touch. And we didn't loose so don't change a winning side As for Wellens' volley, fantastic technique. In my opinion he is the most skillful player in our squad. Had another great game yesterday and deserved a goal.
Wymsey Posted 10 April 2011 Posted 10 April 2011 That is why I want Wellens to try and shoot more in the future as at least the shots he does have actually go on target.
anotherharboroughfox Posted 10 April 2011 Posted 10 April 2011 That is why I want Wellens to try and shoot more in the future as at least the shots he does have actually go on target. hate to be pedantic. but hitting the woodwork doesn't count as on target
davieG Posted 10 April 2011 Author Posted 10 April 2011 That is why I want Wellens to try and shoot more in the future as at least the shots he does have actually go on target. He rarely hits the target for someone who can pull off a decent pass, although even then he miss judges a fair few his shooting is mainly horrendous.

Scored a good goal against donny but apart from that you are right, lets hope he scores goals like that in in the vid, top class tekkers
Basingstoke Fox Posted 11 April 2011 Posted 11 April 2011 That is why I want Wellens to try and shoot more in the future as at least the shots he does have actually go on target. Perhaps that is because he only shoots when he feels he has a decent chance of scoring?
David Guiza Posted 11 April 2011 Posted 11 April 2011 In all fairness I'd rather have a player who tries to find 'the pass' rather than shooting at every single available opportunity, especially when King is more that kind of player. It was so frustrating watching Fat Lampard do it at the World Cup.
Babylon Posted 11 April 2011 Posted 11 April 2011 The setup was as good as, if not better than the shot. Vas' knew exactly what he was doing with that little flick.

carterfox90 Posted 11 April 2011 Posted 11 April 2011 it would have been a great way to top a great display by the team what a shame for wellens & what a great lay off by vassel
Corky Posted 11 April 2011 Posted 11 April 2011 The setup was as good as, if not better than the shot. Vas' new exactly what he was doing with that little flick. It was. Perfectly weighted for Wellens to hit first time.
Thracian Posted 11 April 2011 Posted 11 April 2011 I just wish it had gone in - it would have been a goal to savour for a lifetime.
