BRUMA HATERS

If my milkman suddenly started delivering lager to my door, I'd consider it an improvement upon him simply not turning up, but it would still not be what I'm paying him for.

:crylaugh: :crylaugh:

Did you go to the match?! Bruma was quality today. Nobody even got near him?! He was so comfortable on the ball and played good simple balls not trying anything too fancy except 40 yard strikes :P but genuinelly had Kingy played like that I doubt you'd be saying that

Very well put!

Credit where credit is due, it sounded like he had an awesome game, though I only listened to it so am going by the radio. Let's see what he does in the next two and what position he plays in. Might be that he works better slightly further up the field, or just that he's taken his time to get going for us. Alternatively, he could just prove that he put in one unusual good performance. My view is that he hadn't settled in and today was more what he is really like. You don't get capped by Holland if your a bad player nowadays and Chelsea don't sign you either if your that bad. Either way, it's highly unlikely he'll be here next season so however good he is, is probably irrelevant at this point!

He scored two goals and suddenly he's a hero?

I'm not coming here to knock the guy and I've defended him in the past. He clearly has class and he showed that in his shooting today and some (only some) of his passing.

A number of times today he was caught on the ball and didn't seem to know where he wanted to play it. At least twice he lost the ball when simple passes were on and he was just standing there not to mention there were a few missed passes (ok, so I did mention it.) But like the first game I saw him in, he improved as the game went on. I really do think he's a confidence guy, maybe those two goals were what he needed.

Regardless, he'll be gone in two games and he won't be back unless we play Chelsea in the cup. Too little too late sadly.

His best game for us by miles today. Co-incidently, his 2nd best performance for us was when he played in the same position against Cardiff.

We might get on a season long loan deal next season.

At least we can now see what Sven has seen in him, and why he's kept playing him. I wasn't too keen before today tbh, but he was our best player by some distance today I thought.

Now I think Bruma had one of his best games for us today.

But did anyone else think, that if he hadn't scored the two screamers (and yes they were fantastic goals) that he only had an average based game in midfield today?

He got caught in possession several times and moved the ball too slowly?

Take the strikes away and his game was nothing more than decent?

I sort of see what you're trying to say, but you as I said before, you're basically saying "take away the good stuff and he didn't do anything good." well duhh.

I can see your point, and it's very much valid. But I tried to look at his overall game play today and it wasn't that great for me.

If his two shots had been tipped around the post, then I'm sure he wouldn't be getting all this credit!

Oh yeah, if he plays a few neat passes, outmuscles his man occasionally and misplaces a few passes, he's not gonna have a thread about him. But take away his goals, he still outperformed Wellens and Abe IMO.

Exactly mate. Plus now he's in a position where you can't really make a mistake whereas at centre-half, one slip and its your fault.

This forum is a joke right now. People hating on Bruma before and now because he's scored 2 goals, he's suddenly their favourite player.

All a bit late now anyway, he's cost us enough since he's come.

I've just seen people applauding (and rightly so) two quality goals. Not seen anyone dismissing previous shortcomings or proclaiming him their new favourite player to be fair.

He played very well in his defensive midfield role, I think we need either him playing like that or someone similar next season as he gave some muscle to the midfield. Maybe Sol Bamba could play this role as he seems good on the ball I know others have mentioned it on this forum.

H e has still been awful at centre back but he has talent you can tell by his touch so maybe this is his best position?

You can't win on here sometimes. He's played the best game he's had since he's been here and he's not allowed any credit for it?

Dint forget, the lad is still only 19.

I didn't hate him, only the idiots on here hated him. And nobody has gone said he's their favourite player, people have just rightly said he played very well today, and scored two stunning goals.

As for you can't make mistakes in midfield, just lol

Tell me then the last time that a midfielder has been slated the same way Weale was for his two mistakes on Friday, Ricardo's mistakes against Cov and Portsmouth, Bamba's mistake against Reading, Van Aanholt's numerous mistakes against Reading, Ben Mee's disaster against Millwall?

I can't think of any.

That's not what you said though, is it? You said you can't really make mistakes in midfield. What you meant was that, often, mistakes you make in midfield are covered by the defence/goalkeeper.

And if you've been on this board once since about 2009, you'll notice it doesn't take much for people to slag of central midfielders. Matt Oakley spring to mind?
