Happy Fox Posted 26 July 2011 Author Posted 26 July 2011 The final bid to go in will be £4m and Waghorn. Here's hoping this is accepted thanks for the info
Stevosevic Posted 26 July 2011 Posted 26 July 2011 Hope they accept, Waghorn seems to be lacking a lot of confidence.
Howard9 Posted 26 July 2011 Posted 26 July 2011 Hope they accept, Waghorn seems to be lacking a lot of confidence. He ****ing will be after he hears about this
Dabizas Posted 26 July 2011 Posted 26 July 2011 Waghorn will turn out quality if he plays on a regular basis! Feel sorry for the lad can't knock his effort but sven gotta do what he's gotta do to get us out the division! Can't help thinking that maybe we should look abroad for a striker as I still think this is very over priced for maynard!
Austin Posted 26 July 2011 Posted 26 July 2011 Guess it's a case of wait and see Cheers for the info Bert.
crisp packet Posted 26 July 2011 Posted 26 July 2011 End of the maynard bid I feel,i think bid will be rejected ,are we confident bert? What are our altrernitves ? Great signings this summer very excited but feel we need that talisman up top! Here's hoping
Happy Fox Posted 26 July 2011 Author Posted 26 July 2011 Thinking about it, can't see it being accepted. Well if it isn't lets get Cameron Jerome or Zigic
David Guiza Posted 26 July 2011 Posted 26 July 2011 Bolton were after Cameron Jerome and at the minute it's only rumours about Birmingham as well. Any talk about buying their players is highly premature.
He's not bald Posted 26 July 2011 Posted 26 July 2011 Hope the bid is rejected now, if Maynard was really interested surely he would have showed his hand before now??....it worries me that there seems to be some strange determination to get this particular player here when the money we can offer could surely get us a decent enough striker or even strikers (with Sven's contacts) to get us the goals that could make the difference
MC Prussian Posted 26 July 2011 Posted 26 July 2011 Bolton were after Cameron Jerome and at the minute it's only rumours about Birmingham as well. Any talk about buying their players is highly premature. We've been talking about Maynard in very premature ways, too. More than 220 pages on a player that MIGHT join (or not join) us...

I guess transfer requests will damage his sell on clause
David Guiza Posted 26 July 2011 Posted 26 July 2011 At least there's some sort of evidence about Maynard even if it is in poor quality papers. If Birmingham did need to sell I'm sure Bolton would come in for Jerome again and why people are complaining about needing a goalscorer and think Zigic is the answer I don't know.

I would just want Zigic because of his sheer size, defenders will be pissing in their boots
He's not bald Posted 26 July 2011 Posted 26 July 2011 The evidence is clear....last season.....this season's friendlies and Sven's comments...we simply don't have enough fire power up front yet!
Austin Posted 26 July 2011 Posted 26 July 2011 The evidence is clear....last season.....this season's friendlies and Sven's comments...we simply don't have enough fire power up front yet! Calm. I didn't realise the transfer window had shut?!
He's not bald Posted 26 July 2011 Posted 26 July 2011 It's not, but Chav is 11 days away now and a slow start is the last thing we need???

thybluefox Posted 26 July 2011 Posted 26 July 2011 People say Waghorn will develop with game time, which is probably true. But we can't afford to be giving him time in games, we need someone who can hit the ground running and start scoring goals. Saying that though I will feel for him if he's sold, and I dread the revolt from his loyal followers.
The Doctor Posted 26 July 2011 Posted 26 July 2011 It's not, but Chav is 11 days away now and a slow start is the last thing we need??? why do people assume we'll start slow/struggle to score unless we bring in another striker? We scored plenty last season, the problem was conceding too many and we've strengthened the defence. All we've lost from goals last season is Yak (11) & Naughton (5) plus 1 or 2 from the likes of Bruma & Kamara. We've added Matt Mills who got a decent amount last season, Danns who got double figures in a relatively poor palace side & Nugent who got 14 or so with Pompey. We've pretty much replaced the goal threat going out and with the improved defence & the likelihood that Weale won't get near the pitch next season, surely we should be relatively fine?
Blinking Blue Owl Posted 26 July 2011 Posted 26 July 2011 What revolt ? Although he gives his all he simply is not good enough and we paid way to much for him in the first place .
He's not bald Posted 26 July 2011 Posted 26 July 2011 Don't know...but this Maynard obsession seems to be in the way imo...dragged on far too long...that's obvious...no movement and even the lads with contacts on here seem to be just guessing at what might happen, we can't go on like this until we are not scoring enough goals to keep pace ..and that's not Christmas that's the end of September!
