Ashley Posted 27 July 2011 Posted 27 July 2011 Heskey - past it He started a lot of games for Villa last season, as I've said before Heskey would tear this division apart. Not for his goal scoring but for defenders having to mark him and him pulling them away for the likes of King, Vassell, Gallagher etc to shoot.
Callabinho Posted 27 July 2011 Posted 27 July 2011 Did any one watch the villa game? He looked far from past it! He played quite deep towards the back end of the game, he played some quality balls!
AjcW Posted 27 July 2011 Posted 27 July 2011 Did any one watch the villa game? He looked far from past it! I thought he was fantastic! Hot, humid conditions and he ran his arse off! His touch looked good and he looked all round sharp!
Wymsey Posted 27 July 2011 Posted 27 July 2011 Is this the Maynard thread still?? You can start another one if you want. Just shows that nothing is happening with Maynard.
Lester LXXIV Posted 27 July 2011 Posted 27 July 2011 You can start another one if you want. Just shows that nothing is happening with Maynard. I suppose this is more interesting than anything that's happening with Maynard!
Burmesefox Posted 27 July 2011 Posted 27 July 2011 The thing with Heskey is that if you watch him on the box you only see 40% of what he does and his influence on the game. You have to see him live to see how he pulls players out of position and the selfless running he does. Owen said that Heskey was his favourite striking partner and he attributes a lot of his success to Emile. . Do you remember that game against Argentina at wembley when he played on the left? He ripped the argentinian defense apart that day
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 27 July 2011 Posted 27 July 2011 Is this the eerm eerm Nicky "fook me this is a big thread about me" Maynard thread still?
Scoobyrob Posted 27 July 2011 Posted 27 July 2011 I work in brum and all the villa lads are praying we sign Heskey! They say he's lost speed and isn't as effective! Sure he's strong but he's only goin to go down hill now. He may be usefull in this division but he'll want top money and at least a 3 yr deal. I'd love to be proved wrong though. Maybe we should have a poll! Think Maynard makes more sense tbh
andog Posted 27 July 2011 Posted 27 July 2011 Trouble is we need a goal scorer... Heskey is not a goal scorer
wellyfox Posted 27 July 2011 Posted 27 July 2011 Wow going through 4 pages since i went to work. I am suprised no one has put this. Sorry i gotta do it Keep Waggy Sack Sven and bring back Hume :crylaugh: :crylaugh:
dannythefox Posted 27 July 2011 Posted 27 July 2011 Schlupp and/or Vassell Schlupp going on loan isn't he? Vassell will not score 20 goals he fvcks about to much and trys be fancy.
KFS Posted 27 July 2011 Posted 27 July 2011 Schlupp going on loan isn't he? Vassell will not score 20 goals he fvcks about to much and trys be fancy. To beat his full back... Because 80% of the time he played on the wing last season..
dannythefox Posted 27 July 2011 Posted 27 July 2011 To beat his full back... Because 80% of the time he played on the wing last season.. I think thats where he will be this season. We had Kamara and Yak last season so they both need replacing! Kermo will probably be down the road and i think Howard will struggle to get a game. So as it stands we have Vas Nugent and possibly Maynard is that enough cover i think not!

Totally agree, I think we'll bring in Townsend to free up Vassell, or possibly just to create competition. Whatever Sven's plans, the squad is getting very good!
Chazwaz Posted 27 July 2011 Posted 27 July 2011 I'll also repeat Leicester do not have a bid on the table for Maynard, nor one that includes Waghorn at the moment #LCFC #BCFC Fourth Official
dannythefox Posted 27 July 2011 Posted 27 July 2011 I'll also repeat Leicester do not have a bid on the table for Maynard, nor one that includes Waghorn at the moment #LCFC #BCFC Fourth Official Bert no's more!
Legend_in_blue Posted 27 July 2011 Posted 27 July 2011 If Waghorn does leave for Maynard coming in (that's a big IF), Sven will bring in Ched Evans as well. We'll have a position covered by two players then. Whatever the outcome with Maynard, I still reckon we'll get Ched Evans in anyway.
That lad from Japan Posted 27 July 2011 Posted 27 July 2011 Bert no's more! But yet on many occasions FourthOfficial have been wrong, Theyre prorbably right 50% of the time and Bert normally tells us beforehand anyway.
Liamlcfc1 Posted 27 July 2011 Posted 27 July 2011 As far as i know we will still put a take it or leave it bid offering Waggy
Toffee_Fox Posted 27 July 2011 Posted 27 July 2011 Love twitter, if someone says we are selling someone or not signing someone, they are wrong and its "twitter" If they say we are signing someone, people are running out to get the names printed on their shirts this is a general observation on twitter as a whole!
Simmo86 Posted 27 July 2011 Posted 27 July 2011 When has bert said we've made a bid?? All he's said is the next bid will include Waghorn!
Toffee_Fox Posted 27 July 2011 Posted 27 July 2011 agreed and all they have said is that theres not a bid been put in yet, this rumour has been doing the rounds for about 10 days now.
