Bezzanator89 Posted 27 July 2011 Posted 27 July 2011 No bid is official yet. I'm sure that once a bid is made, we'll all know about it pretty sharpish. Until then, just sit tight.
thybluefox Posted 27 July 2011 Posted 27 July 2011 Does anyone else just skim read this thread for posts from Bert?
Tielemans63 Posted 27 July 2011 Posted 27 July 2011 You've got to wonder where this leaves us if they reject this bid. By offering Waggy we're taking a bit of a risk. He looked proper pissed off last night, if we don't get NM then we still have a lack of quality strikers and a dispirited and under-confident Waggy on our hands. I think if they do except it then MW will join Briz - he's not had the best time of it under Sven and he'd prob be a regular at Ashton Gate.
VampLCFC Posted 27 July 2011 Posted 27 July 2011 Does anyone else just skim read this thread for posts from Bert? I'm with you there mate!!
cc_star Posted 28 July 2011 Posted 28 July 2011 But yet on many occasions FourthOfficial have been wrong, Theyre prorbably right 50% of the time and Bert normally tells us beforehand anyway. Much nearer spot-on from what I can remember Concerning us, he went pretty strong on Routledge which turned out to be wrong, but that seems to be hardly surprising given that his agent was supposedly driving the deal with us and to me it seems his source is sometimes agents Can't think of anything else amiss, he's called every other deal including CMS even though everyone on here & even the Beeb's & Mercury's reps were saying its just about done and long before anyone can read through 1000 posts of crap to find the odd gem

They are the actual headlines and how things stand, not just speculative crap that the media like to spit on on a daily basis, just because we're throwing money under peoples' noses.
Bert Posted 28 July 2011 Posted 28 July 2011 Routledge has the same agent as Peltier, Pantsil and Danns.
Shit_arse Posted 28 July 2011 Posted 28 July 2011 Routledge has the same agent as Peltier, Pantsil and Danns. You think there is any chance he could still come here?
Bezzanator89 Posted 28 July 2011 Posted 28 July 2011 You think there is any chance he could still come here? I say no. And plus if he has the same agent as the other three which have actualy signed, think his agent has made enough money for one summer...then again, they are greedy sods so they'll just keep asking for more....
Bert Posted 28 July 2011 Posted 28 July 2011 You think there is any chance he could still come here? I think he'd be here by now if that was the case, added to the fact the Townsend deal is close, it's highly unlikely.
Shit_arse Posted 28 July 2011 Posted 28 July 2011 I think he'd be here by now if that was the case, added to the fact the Townsend deal is close, it's highly unlikely. No worries - No big loss What about this Maynard bid then - has it gone in?
80footgiraffe Posted 28 July 2011 Posted 28 July 2011 I think he'd be here by now if that was the case, added to the fact the Townsend deal is close, it's highly unlikely. Could maynard and fernandes both happen before real? Bit optimistic
Bert Posted 28 July 2011 Posted 28 July 2011 Could maynard and fernandes both happen before real? Bit optimistic Hugely optimistic. No bid for Maynard yet, but I'm certain it'll be put in soon.
Kent Posted 28 July 2011 Posted 28 July 2011 Hugely optimistic. No bid for Maynard yet, but I'm certain it'll be put in soon. Be careful, people might think that you are 'hugely optimistic' about signing him and we know what happens when people misinterpret what you say.
Shit_arse Posted 28 July 2011 Posted 28 July 2011 Hugely optimistic. No bid for Maynard yet, but I'm certain it'll be put in soon. Do you know the list of alternatives being looked at if the MAynard deal doesn't come off?
wellyfox Posted 28 July 2011 Posted 28 July 2011 We should just put the bid in with a 12hr deadline signed Sven Then a ps if refused we will talk to him in january for free :crylaugh:
MKFOX0708 Posted 28 July 2011 Posted 28 July 2011 Hugely optimistic. No bid for Maynard yet, but I'm certain it'll be put in soon. Bert, any idea why it's taking so long to put a bid in ? I would have thought we would have put in one last week. Is the preparation of bid a long process ? PS: keep up the good work - really appreciate all the info' you've been supplying
dpjfox Posted 28 July 2011 Posted 28 July 2011 if this deal collapses then Birminghams Jerome is looking to escape St Andrews
Ric Flair Posted 28 July 2011 Posted 28 July 2011 Sven is playing a shrewd move here. Bristol have played hard ball all summer, thinking that Maynard would sign a new deal or a Premiership club would come in and they'd be able to laugh in our faces. Neither has happened and they are facing the prospect of his value diminishing by the day. I think Sven is comfortable with going in to the season with the current strikers we have, with the intention of picking one up before the close of the transfer window. The longer he leaves it, the more Brizxzle will get desperate and the less inflated price we have to pay for him.

With the loan window open till mid November, Sven col very well get a Premier league reserve striker in almost anytime, if he can't get the one he wants on a permenant before the window close.

Raw Dykes Posted 28 July 2011 Posted 28 July 2011 Not good enough I'm afraid, I want us to destroy co* I really don't think our signing a new striker is that desperate a situation. All other areas of the squad have been strengthened considerably, so I wouldn't be surprised if the forwards we already have thrive off the better service they should be receiving. I'm sure there'll be plenty of goals from midfield and defence, as well. I agree that we should get a new striker and maybe a new winger since we can afford to, but I don't think it's that urgent.
Ric Flair Posted 28 July 2011 Posted 28 July 2011 Not good enough I'm afraid, I want us to destroy co* Haha, you're right! Me too. I fookin hate them, i'd take us finishing 2nd instead of champions if it could be guaranteed that we beat them 9-0 next saturday.
