Trav Le Bleu Posted 5 May 2011 Posted 5 May 2011 What? Of course it was your fault you dipstick. Court won't give a toss if you're dependent on your car, over the limit, on your phone and without a seatbelt? You might as well have pulled your nob out and waved it at the coppers to top it off. In fairness, he means that he's previously had a crash which he was judged as being not at fault.

No, you plank, i was referring to the earlier post asking if i had any previous accidents, in which i replied, yes one crash, which was not my fault. I know its my fault, no-one forced a couple of beers down my throat then held a gun to my head telling me to drive, but i'm pissed at myself more than anyone could be pissed off at me! So don't talk to me like some sort of cvnt! I think if you asked anyone what sort of person i am, they would say a decent hardworking lad!
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 5 May 2011 Posted 5 May 2011 I hope this is a wind, and if it is it's in very bad taste. If it's true then you are in deep shit! -Heavy fine, loss of licence, and maybe a custodial sentence. If it's true, you should have your balls ripped off!. If it's not true, then you should still have your balls ripped off!
The Year Of The Fox Posted 5 May 2011 Posted 5 May 2011 My mate blew 79, was driving uninsured, left the scene of an accident and failed to report it. Sounds terrible but he bumped into a lorry, he didnt hurt anyone. Anyway, he got a to year ban reduced by at quarter if he went to that course, and had 80 hr community service, as well as a 100 ish fine. You will lose your license regardless. Some right sanctimonious sods on here. Ok, the OP does sound blase, but you dont know the scenario! There are times when ive had a pint n feel steaming, and I could well be over the limit!
Finnegan Posted 5 May 2011 Posted 5 May 2011 No, you plank, i was referring to the earlier post asking if i had any previous accidents Fair enough then, I happily put my hand up and admit I skimread that and misunderstood. Point remains though, mate, the court don't give a **** if you're a Mother Teresa, it was fucking retarded of you and you should be thankful you didn't hurt anyone.

Don't drive after having one pint then.
Finnegan Posted 5 May 2011 Posted 5 May 2011 There are times when ive had a pint n feel steaming, and I could well be over the limit! So.. don't drink and drive? At all? Is there really EVER a time in your life where it's compulsory to drink and drive?
Stevosevic Posted 5 May 2011 Posted 5 May 2011 If someone is driving, i don't see why then can't resist a 'couple' of drinks. Drink driving is a appalling, selfish and idiotic.
blue blood Posted 5 May 2011 Posted 5 May 2011 TBH i think the drink driving will prob get you a ban alone. the other 3 offences prob carry 3 points each. There again they can do you for driving without due care or dangerous driving. Either way expect to pay heavy insurance for a very long time. If it was one or another id say you could argue your case but with them combined its damage limitation. Just out of interest have you given your statments and admitted your guilt? Im sure you feel bad with yourself, probably for being caught as you would prob not have thought about it if you didnt get caught Having been taken out head on by a drunk a few years back im inclined to say i hope they give you what you deserve so you dont risk other people and yourself again..
Jackirius Posted 5 May 2011 Posted 5 May 2011 Oh dear, all those offences and being that far over you are likely to be banned for a fair while. Never drive to events which you think you will be drinking at, removes the temptation (or just get absolutely trollied so you forget how to start a car let alone drive it).
The Year Of The Fox Posted 5 May 2011 Posted 5 May 2011 You have to remember being over the limit doesn't necessarily mean -i can't see straight/walk/talk- which is clearly wrong. It could be- as it sounds in the OPs case- 2 pints, gets in the car and drives. Even the old bill reckon 2 pints is USUALLY under the limit, though obviously they'd never say that, as as we know, 2 pints can affect 2 people differentley. If you go out on a bender friday night, and have say 6-8 pints, am I right in saying that none of the moral high grounders here have not then drove to filbert way around 2pm the next day?? Cos you'd still be over the limit!

The Year Of The Fox Posted 5 May 2011 Posted 5 May 2011 Its foolish davieg, no doubt. But you don't have to be pissed to speed and use your phone. Seatbelt bit is a no no, but again, nobody sticks to the speed limits religiously do they? I'm coming across as a right twat here, with an answer for everything but i'm just playing devils advocate.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 5 May 2011 Posted 5 May 2011 I'm a shower?? There will be people on here who have bollocked the OP yet gone out one night and drove the next day! its still drink driving!
StanSP Posted 5 May 2011 Posted 5 May 2011 You don't really have a leg to stand on, Stu. I don't see how someone can defend drink-driving
Houdini Logic Posted 5 May 2011 Posted 5 May 2011 I'm a shower?? There will be people on here who have bollocked the OP yet gone out one night and drove the next day! its still drink driving! You're right and that is annoying, but you have to remember that there will also be people on here who don't have a single drink before driving or people who don't drink at all and to say they are taking the 'moral highground' for having an issue with this person is simply crazy.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 5 May 2011 Posted 5 May 2011 Im not defending it as such. Whilst theres a tolerance in the law, allowing 35mg, theres always going to be that grey area for me. Theres a difference between 2 pints and 10 pints, yet if you're unlucky on 2 pints, then your still classed as a drink driver- and tagged as one as well-as seen by the reaction here before the bloke told us how much he'd drank. They should just cut the limit to 0mg, then stick a breathalyser in every car, which activates the ignition once you've blown in to it. As for the OP, you will not go to jail. Get a lawyer if it makes you feel better, but will lose your license for sure. I reckon all told, your looking at an 18 month ban, and a 300+ fine. Doubt you'll get community service.
zubi Posted 5 May 2011 Posted 5 May 2011 What? Of course it was your fault you dipstick. I think he meant that the crash he had which wasn't related to this incident was not his fault.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 5 May 2011 Posted 5 May 2011 Houdini logic- if it came across (or if I actually said 'everyone') then I didnt mean it to!

Drink Driving + Foglights = maybe not that pissed Drink Driving + No Seat Belt = maybe not that pissed Drink Driving + Using a mobile phone = maybe not that pissed Drink Driving + Foglights + No Seat Belt + Using Mobile Phone = Pissed beyond doubt
Tommeh Posted 5 May 2011 Posted 5 May 2011 Interesting subject, can sympathise with the OP, he'll be pissed off enough with himself he hardly needs the full degree on here. I know enough people who have 2 or 3 and are completely fine and literally no risk, yet the day they get caught they're done for. Whilst I've never touched it whilst at the wheel, a night out ending at 4am and a 9am drive is hardly uncommon for me, often wonder if I'm running the risk then.
Parafox Posted 5 May 2011 Posted 5 May 2011 In my job I too have seen the results of drink-driving, from mangled horrific death to simply staggering from the vehicle. I'm not going to add my opinions as i'm sure you've heard enough from many others on here. I bet you will have learnt your lesson and there will be a lot of time to mull it over. Just wondering what your family think of it, have you told them? The realistic thing is, you WILL lose your licence, you WILL be fined, you WILL have huge insurance premiums even on the smallest Ka, and that will continue for many years once you get your licence back. I feel kind of sorry that you're in this mess, it must be an awful feeling when you wake up every morning, you don't need to hear again who's fault it is. You know that already. Whilst I've never touched it whilst at the wheel, a night out ending at 4am and a 9am drive is hardly uncommon for me, often wonder if I'm running the risk then. Absolutely you are

Incidently, has anyone else heard of the police putting little stickers on your off side wheel? They go around the pubs and stick them on, then the next day they know you were out.
Simmo86 Posted 5 May 2011 Posted 5 May 2011 Been caught drink driving. Reading was 51 on breatalyser, plus not wearing seatbelt, foglights on and had mobile phone in hand. What punishment am i looking at, shitting it What did you get on your B sample at the station?
