Happy Fox Posted 9 May 2011 Posted 9 May 2011 http://www.footmercato.net/ligue1/transferts/info-fm-souleymane-bamba-futur-roc-defensif-de-l-om_66408 Player Career atypical Souleymane Bamba had to wait for 26 years to talk to him. Trained to PSG, the Ivorian defensive rock was forced into exile in Scotland to become a professional footballer. Firstly, Dunfermline, Hibernian and then to where he was spotted last season by many European clubs. But if Fulham and Rennes were very interested this winter, at Leicester City Championship (L2 equivalent) that landed in January. But the old sapling of the capital club will put all the fans of English club in his pocket in a few weeks so much so that they will dedicate a song to his glory. So naturally, such benefits are beginning to generate interest in the Premier League. Indeed, Gary McAllister's assistant Gerard Houllier to Aston Villa would have fallen under the spell of the player. But the Villans were not alone on the record because the OM would also be seduced by the athleticism and the attitude of the Ivorian international impeccable. Reportedly, a recruiter Champion title in France was recently in the span of the Walkers Stadium to watch the performance Souleymane Bamba on the advice of the deputy Didier Deschamps, Guy Stephan who knows the player. But the case is not simple. Bought a pittance by the club coached by Sven Goran Erikson, Bamba has appreciated in value and its termination in June 2013 do not run the risk of arranging business leaders phocéens if they intend to take action . Highly rated in England and now France, Souleymane Bamba could not dwell in Leicester, especially as the club is badly in the race to climb. At age 26, former Paris should continue its ascent mad, now remains to know where.
Darkon84 Posted 9 May 2011 Posted 9 May 2011 Hands off, unless they offer a ridiculous sum like £5million
Austin Posted 9 May 2011 Posted 9 May 2011 He's going nowhere .. Bring in someone experienced to partner him and our defence will be top notch Edit: after we get a new RB and LB
Len Finsbury Posted 9 May 2011 Posted 9 May 2011 Whatever translation site you used is fantastic. Difficult to believe it wasn't originally English
Fox 4 Life Posted 9 May 2011 Posted 9 May 2011 If it meant we could sign Vitor and Mee permanently I am all for it.
topharry123 Posted 9 May 2011 Posted 9 May 2011 I'd be happy to see him go. Apart from a fantastic debut, I thought he did very little after and didn't look solid enough for us.
Danno Posted 9 May 2011 Posted 9 May 2011 Don't like him at all tbh. Very bad positioning etc, and always brings the ball down when he should head it. However every disabled thinks the sun shines out of his arse after his debut
Joe. Posted 9 May 2011 Posted 9 May 2011 Yeah can't say I'd be too fussed to see him leave with a bit of cash in our pockets. Very doubtful he'll be on his way though.
Kent Posted 9 May 2011 Posted 9 May 2011 Whatever translation site you used is fantastic. Difficult to believe it wasn't originally English Very poetic I thought.
no1likepeter Posted 9 May 2011 Posted 9 May 2011 Was my hero when he scored against man citeh but ever since that he has done diddle squat!
Trav Le Bleu Posted 9 May 2011 Posted 9 May 2011 If they offered a million or more I'd rip their hand off.
lcfcsnow Posted 9 May 2011 Posted 9 May 2011 Let him go, there will be no promotion with Bamba in defence.
lee(lcfc) Posted 9 May 2011 Posted 9 May 2011 we just need a partner for him some one to boss him around abit to keep him in line
Webbo Posted 9 May 2011 Posted 9 May 2011 I like the bloke, unless it's silly money I hope he's still here next season.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 9 May 2011 Posted 9 May 2011 Sven is the new Alan Sugar. Buy low sell high. You mean he manufactures crap computers?
accessory Posted 9 May 2011 Posted 9 May 2011 There was a reason Hibs let him leave for only £250k. Squad player at best next season, definitely no better than either Hobbs or Tunchev.
cairnsy Posted 9 May 2011 Posted 9 May 2011 TBF i think he is a brilliant squad player, he seems to always be so happy and is always hugging people, i think he brings a smile to everyones face which is good but i cant see us going up with him as first choice CB. If they offer around 2m+ then i think we should take it. Under 1m no thanks. 1-2m indifferent
vinnieno1 Posted 9 May 2011 Posted 9 May 2011 Erm, How many corners did we have without scoring till this guy came in? A fair few as I remember. Not saying he changed everything but till he came along we had no big men going up for corners successfully.
ajthefox Posted 10 May 2011 Posted 10 May 2011 He's not going anywhere whether we want him to or not.
CloudFox Posted 10 May 2011 Posted 10 May 2011 What is wrong with some of you?? He's not perfect, but on his day he can be great at the back. The few times he played alongside Mee in their respectively preferred positions we were solid at the back, and even a threat from corners--something we've struggled with. Then more players came in and Vitor (admittedly much better, but far more expensive than Bamba) came back from injury, ousting Bamba from his preferred RCB role to LCB, where it has been said that he does not look very comfortable. To be honest, I'm not sure any of our CBs has looked comfortable on the left, and with the revolving door that is our LB position, I'm not surprised! As much as he has faults (i.e. sometimes bringing the ball down when he should just head it out), he is the kind of passing CB which Sven clearly desires, building from the back etc., and this is what we need: continuity in our backline. Besides, unless it was for silly money, there is enough potential re-building required this summer without getting rid of one of our only 3 Leicester-owned CBs.
MikeyT Posted 10 May 2011 Posted 10 May 2011 There was a reason Hibs let him leave for only £250k. Squad player at best next season, definitely no better than either Hobbs or Tunchev. As it stands i'd rather have those 2 playing with Bamba on the bench at most.
