He doesn't play waghorn, this signing would be baffling, then again its the mail....

One million could be better spent.

I don't know what to make of this if he signs. He was highly rated at man City, but then so was Bradley Wright-Phillips and he's not done a great deal other than at a much lower level. Evans has just been part of a team tha's been diabolical all season and he's not scored many either. Is he any better than Waghorn, who can't get a sniff? Also, if the rumours of Heskey, Yakubu, Pedroza and many others are true is he going to make an impact here?

I feel we could do a lot better. Sven really must not rate Waghorn, which is a shame as although he's no world beater the kid is good enough for this level.

As I recall it Ched was at city when Sven and Faz was there. He was back then a great prospect for the future. Maybe the rate him from that time.

This is more like the LCFC Ive come to love/hate!!

Linked with many Premier League superstars (perhaps to encourage us to buy season tickets) :dunno:

Reality is CHED FOOKIN EVANS???? - We're being mugged

He did well for Norwich a few years back. Not done great for Sheffyoo, but they are a pretty hideous non-footballing side. Could see his potential come through in a decent side.

Don't rate him at all. There was hype about him ages ago, but for me, he's done nothing since and just went down in a shiiiiiiite Sheff U team. I think it would be a waste of money

Am I the only one who would be reasonably happy with this? Im not sure messi would have bagged many in the Sheffield united side, plus Sven and Derek have worked with him before so know him quite well- not sure if he is a 20 goal a season striker, but holds the ball up well. Could be a replacement for the yak? Or a perfect foil?

Ched Evans has a goalscoring record of 1 in every 4.6 games (admittedly over a relatively short career). Heskey.....1 in every 4.4 games......over a long career in the top flight of english football. IF we were looking to bring in a player with that kind of ratio to help us get to the premier league, I would much prefer a short term investment in Heskey as someone who will undoubtedly bring other players into the game.....

I dont know enough about Evan's style of play to suggest he COULDN'T do the same, but he certainly hasnt operated at the same level as Heskey so far.

If Evans comes, it does not mean that it will be instead of Heskey - more likely instead of Waghorn!
