Ched Evans - For a million

The truth the way I understand things is that the transfer window, and the close of contracts for players nearing their completions means we cannot actually sign Kamara or Heskey or Yukubu or most other players until the 1st of June. I suppose pre contract agreements can be made, but what is the point when the 1st of June is only just over one week away.

Because we may have agreed a fee for Ched Evans, and compensation for Aluko, who may both sign on the 1st June, doesn't mean it's the end of the world and no better quality players will be coming. Calm down and don't panic.

I appreciate what you are saying and I am calm about the transfer activity. I just pointing out to people that the likes of Yakubu and Heskey are not sustainable transfer targets in terms of transfer fees and wages. I think we need players of the ilk of Ched Evans as they know the division and they shouldn't demand huge amounts of wages.

Am I the only one who would be reasonably happy with this? Im not sure messi would have bagged many in the Sheffield united side, plus Sven and Derek have worked with him before so know him quite well- not sure if he is a 20 goal a season striker, but holds the ball up well. Could be a replacement for the yak? Or a perfect foil?

I am pretty sure I mentioned him as one of a number of players from teams going down as options for us. I think in the right team he can be a better than decent striker.

Bit of a gamble but i'd be willing to give him a chance, Sven obviously still rates him from his Man City days. I see him more as a replacement for Howard than Waghorn though.

He's no better than waggy, we can do better

If we get Evans, and sell Waghorn it will be because Sven thinks he is a better proposition than Waghorn. It won't be because he thinks Waghorn is better than Evans.

I'm with Sven whatever he does on this one!

Oh, and we will do better with other acquisitions over the next few weeks. DAAAAAH.

there are a couple of factors going on here.

1, Waggy wants to leave - he wants regular first team football. - needs replacing.

2. Sven has said he wants to sign players not just for now but for the future.

If we do sign the likes of Yak Heskey or Kamara then Evans will fit in nicely. A few starts and a few sub appearances.

Agree, this is much more likely to be a Howard replacement. Evans is tall and strong yet is surprisingly skillful and quick.

Perhaps not the most natural goalscorer, but I actually think this could be a great signing.

A little under the radar too...

Plus he has a lot to prove, great potential at City but not really flourished since his big money move to Sheff U. He will be desperate to show his worth, unlike an older player coming down from the premiership...

SIGN HIM UP SVEN!

Absolutely right. Are you sure with sensible comments like that you should be on this site?

On 24th May 2011, Evans signed for Championship team Leicester City for a fee of £1m. The move saw Evans re-united with former boss Sven Goran Eriksson.

Rule number 1:

Dont ever, ever believe Wikipedia

Do people still not realise that any Ton, Dick or Harry can edit it.

Jeeez opinions on here change.

There were people on here wanking themselves silly when he was linked 2 years ago!!

Decent signing for a Mil, will do a job.

People need to realise we're Leicester City, not every single top player in the world wants to sign for us!! :banghead:

Fcuk me. Lets get Marcus Bent back then! He was starting when Evans was on the bench!

Id rather give Schlupp a chance, Evans IS ****ing shit/

He was their top scorer with 9 goals and when you consider they only scored 44 goals in the entire season that's nearly a quarter of all their goals.

Who knows, with our team behind him he might double that.
