Donut Posted 24 May 2011 Posted 24 May 2011 alright then who? My post didnt mean it HAD to be STRIKER for £1 mil, but FVCK me, youd pay £1 mil for a total and utter flop? Riccardo Fuller, how much would he cost, oh yes FVCK ALL West Brom picked up Dorrans for £200,000 QPR picked up Kaspars Gorkss for £250,000.......played over 100 times for them and just won promotion Crystal Palace picked up Neil Danns for £600,000, just about an ever present and instrumental part of their team Fvcks sake ive just filled 3 positions for the price of one complete flop.
DanTheFox07 Posted 24 May 2011 Posted 24 May 2011 so question for you! who would you rather have out of howard and evans?
J.Lisemore Posted 24 May 2011 Posted 24 May 2011 I feel he'll prove alot of people wrong on here. Hes not even a bad player and still only 22.
Donut Posted 24 May 2011 Posted 24 May 2011 alright then who? Do you want any more names who would be a better use of £1 million than SHED Evans? please let me know if you do

Alright simmer down luv! your saying evan`s is a flop in a very poor side, besides if he does sign then im trusting sven would know how to get him playing his best football!
Petchy Posted 24 May 2011 Posted 24 May 2011 Despite everyone going on about the rare bargain buys other clubs have pulled off, a million pounds in this day and age for a young player like Evans is nothing. I mean, c'mon.. we could be paying up to three million for Waghorn.
Donut Posted 24 May 2011 Posted 24 May 2011 so question for you! who would you rather have out of howard and evans? Neither Id accept bids for Howard if they are on the table (Hull, league one potential moves) and then id start spending some prudent money. Crystal Palace, a complete tinpot club have just signed a 3 year deal for Glenn Murray from Brighton, a player who had scored 74 senior goals in 160 appearances, (a goal in every 2.2 games), just won promotion, part of a team playing a similar attractive brand of football........ FREE TRANSFER and people think £1 million for a genuinely useless striker is a good deal.

Good post! you make a very good point, we paid good money for waghorn and in today`s market 1 million is good value for 22yr old, especially if we are going to be seeing the likes of waghorn go to derby and howard to sheff wed?

The Waghorn signing was a JOKE the fee we paid for him Steve Bruce didnt want to let him go, but Christ you dont turn down £3,000,000 for a fringe player with no first team pedigree at his home club! It was done out of desperation and not an ounce of thought as to how he would fit into our system, consequently he played out of position, lost confidence and quite probably will at some point end up leaving, and we will have racked up a huge loss on him. Whats more, Ched Evans has proven himself, hes proven himself to be crap, and certainly not worthy of £1 million. We need midfield strength.......Don Cowie at Watford, brilliant player, snap him up! Width and trickery........Celtic got Commons, at a time he was absolutely on FIRE, for £300,000. There is no need to spend over the top on crap when there is a TON of talent out there
samstown92 Posted 24 May 2011 Posted 24 May 2011 It says on wikipedia that he is with us? wikipedia must know something!

Father Ted Posted 24 May 2011 Posted 24 May 2011 They forgot to mention that Sven was signing him for the new reserve team next season! Apparently Leon Crncic needs a new strike partner.

I dont know how people can come out and say hes just crap...even Sheff U fans think that in a better side, he'll be a different player. I'm not saying hes great, but at least give him a chance IF he does sign.

Trust me, he ain't much cop....why would he go Palace a club with a restricted budget?
Aorton6 Posted 24 May 2011 Posted 24 May 2011 He is unproven at this level and has had enough time to show his capability. Would much rather spend that 1million on the wages of Westwood, Bothroyd or even the Yak, all proven at this level.
Ash Posted 24 May 2011 Posted 24 May 2011 Doesnt really excite me but im not dissapointed either.... Hes a young lad who has talent so why not?!... cant judge him on last season, Sheff Utd were a shocking team and he probs didnt get many chances to prove himself.
Spuglcfc Posted 24 May 2011 Posted 24 May 2011 Broth in law is blades fan said he's utter shite can hit a ball but goals have been more luck then anything
Nocturnal Posted 24 May 2011 Posted 24 May 2011 From the impression I get from here you'd think that Evans had already signed and flopped. I know little about the lad but at 22 he's hardly a 'has been'. Also need I remind that in our relegation season Matty Fryatt who seems to be jizzed over by a lot of our fans only scored 2 goals in 30 games. In Sven I trust.
jonthefox Posted 24 May 2011 Posted 24 May 2011 To me, this signing (if true) shows little or no ambition.

Do you even understand what the word flop means. for a young striker, in a relegated team to score 10 goals is an excellent achievement... Just to spell it out for you... strikers in relegated teams dont usually get very good service which means they get less chances.. and you consider him a flop? those players you mention were great deals... but they were not bought today were they Mr Wum? Everton bought Gary Lineker for £800,000 from us. we should do that too. So.. today... right now... for £1,000,000... i do not see any better options but i would love to know who YOU think... would be a better option based on TODAYS prices for a player who is available RIGHT NOW.. ?
MPH Posted 24 May 2011 Posted 24 May 2011 Better than Marlon King. definitely better deal. less wages so overall cheaper, more potential to improve and also he hasnt sexually assulted any women, broke their nose or anything else like that.... although thats another thread of course ;-)
