Greg2607 Posted 24 May 2011 Posted 24 May 2011 If Evans comes, it does not mean that it will be instead of Heskey - more likely instead of Waghorn! I just think we risk having a forward line of players who aren't regular goalscorers!! Waghorn, Howard, Heskey, Evans......(albeit i do recognise that is likely to be movement in both directions from the club).

Waghorn, Howard, Heskey, Evans......(albeit i do recognise that is likely to be movement in both directions from the club). Although I share your concerns over Evans, i'd not worry as that will not be the forward line. Plus it's defence we need to worry about, we scored a lot of goals this season but were barry bethel at the back. There'll be at least 3 strikers signed this summer, possibly more.
Ozwin Posted 24 May 2011 Posted 24 May 2011 Decent championship striker. Would prefer Graham but we do need some strikers, even if they're just role players like I assume this is.
ScouseFox Posted 24 May 2011 Posted 24 May 2011 Meh, could take it or leave it. Haven't seen or heard much of him at Sheff Yoo, guess that means he's hardly set the world alight. They paid big money though as City were reluctant to let him go on the cheap, so someone saw something in him. Guess I'm with Sven on this one, if he wants him, I'll take him.
OriginalRobboFOX Posted 24 May 2011 Posted 24 May 2011 Massively underwhelmed by all this talk of Ched Evans I guess Waghorn is finished at City then....
SMX11 Posted 24 May 2011 Posted 24 May 2011 Massively underwhelmed by all this talk of Ched Evans I guess Waghorn is finished at City then.... Current striking options: Vassell Howard Waghorn Schlupp Hardly going to get us up. Ched Evans may be a gamble but he clearly must have some sort of talent. 1 mil is a snip for what they paid for him so I seems like a reasonable deal on paper.
paddy Agyemang Posted 24 May 2011 Posted 24 May 2011 He is WANK, not proved anything i live in norwich n watched him many times there and he is nothing special Sven sort it out thats not a promotion singing
sbfox Posted 24 May 2011 Posted 24 May 2011 Evans is a decent championship striker and importantly, is a young player. He'd probably take Waggy's place, but he's played more at this level and scored more goals... FT is again proving it to have a huge amount of ******, believing we should be signing players like Messi, just because we've got a bit of cash. We're NOT going to be signing Premier League quality players, just because we've got a big of cash now. I agree, proven Championship players like Danny Graham are what we should be aiming at, but there wouldn't be much wrong with signing a 22 year old lad, trying to prove himself. He is WANK, not proved anything i live in norwich n watched him many times there and he is nothing special Sven sort it out thats not a promotion singing So who IS a promotion signing that is realistic and affordable?
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 24 May 2011 Posted 24 May 2011 Sven sort it out The season is nowhere near starting and we've already had our first 'sort it out.'
bmt Posted 24 May 2011 Posted 24 May 2011 The season is nowhere near starting and we've already had our first 'sort it out.' FT members exceed expectations once more!
Brainy Posted 24 May 2011 Posted 24 May 2011 *linked to yakubu* NO, all he does is score goals *linked to heskey* NO, we need someone who knows what this division is about *linked to evans* NO,
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 24 May 2011 Posted 24 May 2011 In reality did he really get the service at Shef U?
General Smuts Posted 24 May 2011 Posted 24 May 2011 I'd take him for a mil. Were minted after all ...
Adster Posted 24 May 2011 Posted 24 May 2011 I recall a lot of QPR fans questioning some of Warnocks signings last summer. Look were it got them.. Just trust :sge:
artursteppe Posted 24 May 2011 Posted 24 May 2011 He is WANK, not proved anything i live in norwich n watched him many times there and he is nothing special Sven sort it out thats not a promotion singing OK then Paddy what you are really saying is this - our manager and his assistant who coached the lad at Man City and thought he had a lot of potential, and whom they have obviously decided is still worth a fee of maybe £1m don't know as much about this fellar's ability as you. You have seen him at Norwich as an 18/19 year old where he made 20 starts plus 8 sub appearances and scored 10 goals in a crap team. Obviously you must be right. Please be our manager instead.
StarFox Posted 24 May 2011 Posted 24 May 2011 I don't like this. Linked to buying many strikers as such an early stage of the summer. All we need is the Yak back plus a Heskey or a Kamera. We already have Waghorn and Vessel who are also top quality strikers with loads of potential. If we buy 3 or more strikers this summer then our currently players won't be playing any games, and I would love to see Waggy given the opportunity to play next season. Sven please spend your time sorting out the back 4 plus a midfielder or 2 (and keep Abe).

Well it is clear that Yakubu, Kamara and Heskey don't want to come or we don't have the finance to get them in. I think we have to be much more realistic in the signings we will get.

SMX11 Posted 24 May 2011 Posted 24 May 2011 It's the 24th of May. And you don't think Sven has made initial inquiries for their availability and the potential transfers fees (except Kamara who is free agent) ?
Guest shearfox Posted 24 May 2011 Posted 24 May 2011 It's the 24th of May. Exactly the season hasn't even finished yet and people are still complaining about the fact we have yet to sign Messi... Just be patient.
Libertine Posted 24 May 2011 Posted 24 May 2011 And you don't think Sven has made initial inquiries for their availability and the potential transfers fees (except Kamara who is free agent) ? Yes, probably. ? There are negotiations etc to get around.
dave_the_fox Posted 24 May 2011 Posted 24 May 2011 Some people just think you press "continue game" a few times and you have signed a player in 5 minutes!
artursteppe Posted 24 May 2011 Posted 24 May 2011 Well it is clear that Yakubu, Kamara and Heskey don't want to come or we don't have the finance to get them in. I think we have to be much more realistic in the signings we will get. The truth the way I understand things is that the transfer window, and the close of contracts for players nearing their completions means we cannot actually sign Kamara or Heskey or Yukubu or most other players until the 1st of June. I suppose pre contract agreements can be made, but what is the point when the 1st of June is only just over one week away. Because we may have agreed a fee for Ched Evans, and compensation for Aluko, who may both sign on the 1st June, doesn't mean it's the end of the world and no better quality players will be coming. Calm down and don't panic.
Babylon Posted 24 May 2011 Posted 24 May 2011 Go back to the time he signed for Sheff u and people on here were gushing over him. Anyway, we've already been linked with about 6 strikers this summer, lets just wait and see before getting our knickers in a twist.
