Top 5 Away Grounds

Recommended Posts

Out of all the grounds in the country which 5 do you like the most. Based on atmosphere ,location of ground , how big the stadium is, leg room etc.

I would say Upton Park as it's an old fashioned football ground shame there moving into the olympic stadium soon! <_<

Also another of my favourite grounds would be Leeds.

What do you think?

Goodison

Anfield (although not a Leicester game)

Glanford Park

Bloomfield Road

I absolutely loved Hereford! Beautiful journey, lovely town, friendly locals and the strangest looking stadium but at the same time such a great place to watch football. The fact the we had 3/4 of the fans probably added to the great day out.

After that being the ultimate number 1 id say....

Forrest.

Chelsea.

Barnsley(always loads of city fans and the locals are great, can remember after the game walking back to the centre and a group of them came up to us and just had a chat about the season!).

Leeds.

Leeds?!!?! Are you joking?! The view isn't very good there and the stewards are a bunch of douche bags....

Anyhow, my top 5 are:

Barnsley - especially when we score cos the stand feels like it is going to fall down....

Forest - local derby

Man City - just becuase

East Stirlingshire - The atmosphere is great and the only drink you can get is Irn Bru. Plus, the view (apart from the match) is amazing

Bristol City - Even though it is a death trap (no way you are getting out if there was a fire or something) and there is no running hot water, I still kinda like it

Not sure what's funny. If it's not one of your favourites, so be it, but I like it. Car parking was fantastic, there was a massive Asda (I think) next door, the seats were great and there was loads of room, the concourse was very big and the view was good and not restricted. Everything I could ask for a newer ground, like Doncaster really.

It's in the middle of nothing for starters!

Grounds like Loftus Road and City Ground have brilliant location which gives it a real feel of a traditional football awayday. Give me a dumpy inner-city full ground over a half full out of town stadium.

The question is a bit like asking your favourite colour.

However 5 immediate which come to mind:

Loftus Road

Bramall Lane

Villa Park

City Ground

and my wildcard of Spotland.

Sounds like my own dystopia.

I know London clubs are a big day out for you country bumpkins but I've never understood the Palace and QPR love-ins.

Maybe I need to experience it with a big group of mates and make a proper day of it, but I went to plenty of both when I lived in London and I thought they were absolutely terrible to be honest. Woeful atmosphere. QPR's fans barely made a noise - maybe that's changed now they're successful.

I've live in London for coming up three years and Palace is still in my top five favourite awayers.
