shiv Posted 29 July 2011 Posted 29 July 2011 Right... I'm not usually the one to post "my mate's cousin's mate said so" stories but here's what I got told by someone. Apparently he knows a Daily Mail sports journalist who was on the phone slating some of his contacts for linking Adebayor with Leicester. He said it's not going to happen. He then phoned around a bit and found out there could be some substance with the £8.5M bid being for a Tottenham striker (either Crouch or Defoe). I personally think it's total bullsh*t but thought I'd share it. I told the guy I support Leicester and he seemed to know about the bid before I told him which I also found strange (he's an Arsenal fan, which means he could have just made it up cos he hates Spurs) because when I asked him where he heard it he said from his friend working for the Daily Mail.

shiv Posted 29 July 2011 Posted 29 July 2011 neither would drop down so wouldnt believe this for a second myself.. having a bid accepted and getting a player to join are two completely different things
NorthernFox Posted 29 July 2011 Posted 29 July 2011 DJ Campbell was given a squad number by us this time last year. By the end of August he was a Blackpool player. Means nothing DJ has also been given a squad number at Blackpool but looking very likely he will sign for QPR.
m00nie Posted 29 July 2011 Posted 29 July 2011 having a bid accepted and getting a player to join are two completely different things so now you trying to say the bids been accepted also??? why would they waste there time, they would know the player would never agree terms so would be a non starter...
shiv Posted 29 July 2011 Posted 29 July 2011 so now you trying to say the bids been accepted also??? why would they waste there time, they would know the player would never agree terms so would be a non starter... I'm not saying that at all. I'm just saying if we ever did have a bid accepted then I would agree with you that they wouldn't come... Sven just seems to ask everyone if they'll join us
whitwickfox Posted 29 July 2011 Posted 29 July 2011 i dont know if too many people are aware, but the daily mail actually owns the leicester mercury , so many of the mails stories obviously come from tanner
Happy Fox Posted 29 July 2011 Posted 29 July 2011 i dont know if too many people are aware, but the daily mail actually owns the leicester mercury , so many of the mails stories obviously come from tanner I wasn't aware of that before, so is Rob Tanner a mole
Babylon Posted 29 July 2011 Posted 29 July 2011 Maynards been given a squad number by Brizzle. Game over folks - Brizzle 1 Leicester 0!! We better have a back up plan but with the lack of movement on any striker I'm beginning to doubt it.

Callabinho Posted 29 July 2011 Posted 29 July 2011 This is a pure speculation, and a huge guess but if reports are true that we have a £8 million premiership striker on the way. Jermain Defoe?
MC Prussian Posted 29 July 2011 Posted 29 July 2011 More idiots signing up to this forum every day. I blame Twitter - best resource for dumbed-down kids with too much time at their hands. It's all going down the drains with the new generation, I tell thee!

CountesthorpeFox Posted 29 July 2011 Posted 29 July 2011 Im pretty new on here (first post) I mainly just read. I just wanted to question why so many people are getting so irate about this thread. This thread is what it is, a thread about rumours from a social messaging site of such. OBVIOUSLY alot of it has been absolute rubbish, but, on the contrary, how many of our transfers have initally appeared as rumours via various twitter sources. I guess what im trying to say is that if you're so offended by this new social medium and the rubbish it brings then dont read this thread. Times change and the media is constantly changing. Some people want to read about the "my mates dad told me we're after Tevez" stories, so if there is a thread here that allows them then so be it.
Callabinho Posted 29 July 2011 Posted 29 July 2011 Shane Long For £8 million, no way. Look at his stats and try and figure out how he warrants that price tag.
Happy Fox Posted 29 July 2011 Posted 29 July 2011 For £8 million, no way. Look at his stats and try and figure out how he warrants that price tag. Not up front but say 6m and 2m adds on
John Matrix Posted 29 July 2011 Posted 29 July 2011 For £8 million, no way. Look at his stats and try and figure out how he warrants that price tag. 1 goal every two games is a good strike rate. does make graham seem like a cheap purchase though
