City Football Director Andrew Neville said: "Neil is a player that has drawn a lot of interest due to his performances in recent seasons so we are delighted that he has chosen Leicester City for the next stage of his career."Sven and his staff were very impressed with him last season and his quality and versatility will add considerable strength to the squad." Born in Liverpool, Danns began his career with Blackburn Rovers and enjoyed loan spells with Blackpool, Hartlepool United and Colchester United, before joining the U's permanently in December 2004. After scoring an impressive 25 goals in 74 appearances for the Essex club, Danns moved to Birmingham City for a fee of £500,000 in June 2006. He won promotion to the Premier League with Blues in his first season and made a handful of top flight appearances before Palace paid £600,000 to take him to Selhurst Park in January 2008. During his time in south London, Danns passed 100 league appearances for the Eagles and became a firm favourite with the Palace faithful. With his Palace contract due to expire on Thursday, he will officially become a City player on Friday July 1. Neil Danns could make his home debut for the Foxes when they take on Spanish giants Real Madrid at the Walkers Stadium on Saturday July 30. Click here for the latest ticket information.

You can't deny this summer is starting to get exciting. The only thing I still wonder about is players like this signing 3 year deals and Sven only has one year left himself!
