We got some good results under CR playing 442 before Kante was introduced to the side.

True but if memory serves me correctly he was usually bought on by half time and we were turning losing games around. Maybe not the first game or two but I'm sure the next few he was.

I was the champion at Japanese baseball but it looks like they've got rid of it. :(

I liked Ranieri's passion in criticizing the circus at Real Madrid, but I liked him calling Ancelotti a "watch" even more.

Harry Kane rescues second-string Tottenham Hotspur in FA Cup draw against Leicester City

Like it wasn't  our 2nd string and judging  from the concensus it was the ref that saved them allowing Kane to have pretty much his only useful touch of the ball.

4. You wouldn't want to meet Marcin Wasilewski down a dark alley

Leicester's thickly-bearded and heavily tattooed brick-outhouse of a central defender was booked for a spectacularly heavy late challenge on Danny Rose just before he nutted the equaliser. Old school.

:scarf:

"Christian Eriksen fired past Danish international team-mate Kasper Schmeichel to open the scoring but Richard Wasilweski soon headed home a corner from Foxes debutant Demarai Gray."

Who the fvck is this Richard Wasilewski that they talk about?

I certainly wouldn't want to call Was a Dick!!

This makes me angry. I'd dread to think what would have happened to Tottenham had we used our first team. 3-0? 4-0?

Both teams played second string sides but only one manager is referred to as Tinkerman on the TV and also when the sides were announced on the radio coverage

A Cup third round Good, Bad & Ugly: Why Leicester’s draw with Tottenham proves they’re the real deal

Referee blunder saveLEICESTER City may not have defeated Tottenham in their FA Cup tie on Sunday night, but they put their best foot forward so that the big asterisk next to their Premier League title pursuit has been removed.

The Foxes were unlucky to concede an 89th minute penalty at White Hart Lane that saw their third round tie finish 2-2, with Harry Kane converting a penalty awarded by referee Robert Madley after Nathan Dyer’s arm touched the ball in the penalty area.

But the preceding 88 minutes went a long way to dispelling one of the myths that has tainted Leicester’s fairytale 2015-16 campaign.

The achievements of Claudio Ranieri’s outfit have always come with the clause that without Jamie Vardy or Riyad Mahrez they would be just another run of the mill EPL side, not title contenders.

The argument undoubtedly carries some weight — Vardy has 15 EPL goals and three assists to his name this campaign, Mahrez 13 goals and seven assists.

But the flaw in the argument had always been that Leicetser was yet to start a Premier League match in 2015-16 without at least one of the star duo, so we were never to know whether or not they were truly carrying the team.

'The referee is the boss'

0:30The theory was put to the test at White Hart Lane on Sunday night, with Ranieri making eight changes to his side to face fellow Champions League chasers Tottenham in their FA Cup tie.

With the two sides already slated to face each other again in the league on Thursday morning (and as a result of this morning’s draw, in a Cup replay next Wednesday too), both Ranieri and Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino made their priorities clear via their team selections.

But while the depth at Tottenham had already been somewhat tested already this season, all eyes were on how a second-string Leicetser side would perform against the most in-form side in England’s top flight.

They passed the test with flying colours — especially players like Shinji Okazaki and Marcin Wasilewski, as well as debutant Demarai Gray.

Ranieri agreed, saying the result proved the Foxes are not a two-man team.

“I think we showed my players can replace the others because you imagine eight new players, but I didn’t see a big difference,” said Ranieri.

“They played very well, as a team they played so well.”

Facing them in the league Thursday morning

Got the replay date wrong too.

But other than that the gist of it is spot on. We proved we aren't completely one dimensional. We've got a lot more to us as a team than most people give us credit for.

100% Spurs-focused, but at least it wasn't Kane. See if you can spot the deliberate error though...

3) Tottenham fail to make most of Trippier’s strengths

Kieran Trippier was, alongside Danny Ings, Burnley’s leading assist-maker last season and took that honour by a distance the previous season when he set up 12 goals as they won the Championship title. Over several seasons his crossing has been excellent in open play and more dangerous still from set pieces, and he has one assist from one league start this campaign, his centre having been cleverly turned in by Son Heung-min at Watford on 28 December. It was, therefore, surprising to see Spurs focus so many of their attacks down the left flank against Leicester where, for all that he earned the match-saving penalty, Danny Rose’s delivery is far less reliable. With Nacer Chadli starting on the left of a front three and Josh Onomah, theoretically on the right of that group, often floating across the field to join him, Trippier was frequently left isolated on the opposite flank. It was tempting to wonder how many corners Christian Eriksen would be allowed to waste before Trippier was called in to take one in his stead – a question to which the answer was sadly never found. Mauricio Pochettino cannot be expected to plan his tactics round a player whom he selects so infrequently but neither does it seem sensible not to utilise his best attributes. Simon Burnton
