He got to play in the role he excelled in and every england fan at that point did a u turn and marvelled at his quality. He's been injured yes, but if he still has some of the quality we saw in that world cup then he would be awesome for us. United waited on him for years because of his talent and only just let him go. That to me says he is worth us having. Maybe on a very short term contract or pay as you play, but that kind of quality does not exist in that position in the championship. Got to be worth the risk.

Wink Posted 7 July 2011 Posted 7 July 2011 The guy has the quality, man utd would have released him before now if they didn't think he still had it.. The only concern is his fitness (forget about his wages etc, that's down to the board.. We just want good players to play in our team) and people may laugh at his YouTube videos but at least he is showing some passion that he wants to prove himself.. I'd love to have him hear, he has the quality and I'm sure Sven wouldn't sign him if he didn't think it worth while

Despite what must be about 4 years out with a litany of injury problems, and a bank baance that says he doesn't need to care, he's still desperately keeping in shape trying to overcome the problems he has no control over. Fair play to him I say. Give the guy a break and let him train and see how he holds up in trial match situations. Despite what the Football Manager freaks think it's fairly obvious to even Owen he aint gonna be getting big wages anymore.

I'd agree with this, but I'd also say that even if he did become injured he could still contribute to the team in a role model / mentor role. He's seen it, lived it, done it on a high class world stage and apart from Sven we don't have that in the squad at the moment? Someone like Andy King could only benefit from his experience and with Hargreaves needing someone to take a chance on him, I don't think he can really demand that much in terms of wages (although I wait to be proved wrong).

As long as we protect ourselves IE pay per play. Get him tomorrow the whole league will be running scared. LMFAO the season has not started yet and we have beaten Rangers and Wolves.
Little Nicky Posted 7 July 2011 Posted 7 July 2011 I am like a kid in a sweet shop here, Hargreaves, I heard this rumour a few weeks back and thought what a load of rubbish, but it looks like it might have legs. If we get him in on a pay as you play or something with a bit of risk assessment built in then we have pulled off another amazing bit of business, what a great time to be a Leicester City fan!
