The Voice Posted 8 July 2011 Posted 8 July 2011 Thank god for that, i was Mr Hargreaves biggest fan during the world cup shit what year oh yeah 2006 probaly one of the best midfielders around until injury struck, I wonder how many games he has actually played in the last 5 years (not many), why would man u release him if he still fit enought to play as they have a massive gap in their midfield since the retirement of Paul Scholes, We need to keep well away me thinks
MPH Posted 8 July 2011 Posted 8 July 2011 Doubt he "held talks" 2 weeks ago. Sven was on holiday I think and the way he talked about him in the press it seemed like he hadn't spoken to him properly. Probs gave him a call asking if he's interested. Sven doesn't make all the transfer calls these days..... he could of spoken to someone else at the club... or his agent might of... lots of connotations to the phrase ' held talks'

I doubt many insurance companies would of touched him with a barge pole if he had got a new contract at Man utd as they would of had to cover a far higher wage than he could get at Leicester...
shiv Posted 8 July 2011 Posted 8 July 2011 Sven doesn't make all the transfer calls these days..... he could of spoken to someone else at the club... or his agent might of... lots of connotations to the phrase ' held talks' Yeah but I think if Sven has held talks and Hargreaves has said no, we'd probably know that. Sven is very honest in his press conferences like with the Beckham situation last season.
Callabinho Posted 8 July 2011 Posted 8 July 2011 He left for Canada as soon as he was released. As far as I am aware we have been unable to contact him.
The Voice Posted 8 July 2011 Posted 8 July 2011 Thid has probably been said before but cant be go through all the pages, in reality do we really need him !!! i thought our midfield was good last year and now add danns/peltier to the equation he ain't needed. our main problem last year was the defence which Sven has sorted with two beasts. Roll on the good times we don't need players like this who let faceare finished

I think though from playing the game for nearly twenty years if your defence ain't doin it and gettin stuck in you midfield aint gonna do all starts from the back for me, and thats what svenis doing getting in solid players. Not saying i'm right its all down to opinions, before i get shot down

thybluefox Posted 8 July 2011 Posted 8 July 2011 Don't believe the rumour he's turned us down 2 weeks ago at all sorry. Sven has always been upfront when people have turned him down, and he'd know if Top & co had talked to him too. This isn't Mandaric we're talking about.
21st Century Fox Posted 9 July 2011 Posted 9 July 2011 oh yeah if owen hargreaves was half the player he was 5 years ago he would walk in the team just think he's ******* We can speculate all we like as to what kind of player he would be now but it would seem sensible to let the clubs medical and coaching staff judge that. If he came here and could sustain his fitness (which you would assume he would if he was here at all and was deemed fit enough) he could absolutely be head and shoulders the best player in the entire league. Lots of ifs and buts that we can't really judge as we haven't seen him play consistently for so long.

"He held talks 2 weeks ago but didnt want to join. " Things may have changed. Leicester may have made a better offer.
accessory Posted 9 July 2011 Posted 9 July 2011 Would Nigel Reo Coker be an option No because he wants to stay in the Premier League. West Brom are looking at him.
ajthefox Posted 9 July 2011 Posted 9 July 2011 Don't believe for a second that he's already held talks. If he had there is no reason for Sven to come out and lie saying he hadn't already talked to him. That aside, there is also no reason for me to believe that there is any truth to anything you say anyway.

wurmer Posted 9 July 2011 Posted 9 July 2011 He held talks 2 weeks ago but didnt want to join. Can't you go and annoy the forest fans instead, they are feeling neglected......
Danny the Fox 95 Posted 9 July 2011 Posted 9 July 2011 Can't you go and annoy the forest fans instead, they are feeling neglected...... CPFC has been helpful actually, telling us that were going to make a bid for Clyne and if we can't get him then we will go for Gunter. Hargreaves would of been a super signing, but I'd be amazed if he played over 10 games next season. So I'm not too fussed if he isn't interested as it would push out Danns,Wellens or King out of the team for an injury prone player that might struggle as the Championship is a more physical league than the Premiership.
sdb Posted 9 July 2011 Posted 9 July 2011 Can't you go and annoy the forest fans instead, they are feeling neglected...... cpfc appears to be itk. I for one hope he sticks around.
Narborough_fox Posted 9 July 2011 Posted 9 July 2011 Has cpfc been right about anything before? Well he's been a member for 2 days but has a very good Leicester source who is close to the owners (correct me if I'm wrong). He's told us that we're interested in Clyne and Gunter and he seem's to be pretty In the know. Get off his back he doesn't even need to be here he's just telling us what he know's.
jonno24 Posted 9 July 2011 Posted 9 July 2011 Has cpfc been right about anything before? No he is as much of a failure as his dads condom
Cat Burger Posted 9 July 2011 Posted 9 July 2011 No he is as much of a failure as his dads condom Haha, nothing against cpfc, but that was a top-notch put down.

Im not on his back, im just asking a question ..... and why do you think he has a very good leciester source? i havent seen any confirmation that were interested in clyne or gunter so how do we know its true? Not saying he doesnt have a source
Guest Bilo Posted 9 July 2011 Posted 9 July 2011 Just saw Hargreaves in Morrison's buying a knee support and some Deep Heat. Done deal.
