Bugg Posted 6 July 2011 Posted 6 July 2011 This is a player that Sven would go for i reckon. Pay and play deal good back up and has experience great squad player but would he come? :crylaugh: Sorry, but if he joined us, he would definatley NOT be back up. When he is fit, he is a class act.
Turtles Head Posted 6 July 2011 Posted 6 July 2011 I can see the logic of those odds. Don't forget he grew up in Canada. I can see the logic in them too. But I think if he wanted to play in MLS he could have easily done so, without going to the effort of these recent videos. I'd like to see him do well over here, bit of a cop out if he goes to America. I personally think he could be a great signing
80footgiraffe Posted 6 July 2011 Posted 6 July 2011 I think we should wait until there is actual news, otherwise we're speculating a completely fabricated rumour.
Guest ttfn Posted 6 July 2011 Posted 6 July 2011 I think we should wait until there is actual news, otherwise we're speculating a completely fabricated rumour. It'll fit in nicely with the other 160 threads on this forum then.

We've got a bit of money and we see Owen Hargreaves as bench warmer........priceless Fully fit he would be amazing but wouldn't be playing for us would he...
Sirloin Posted 6 July 2011 Posted 6 July 2011 A fully fit Hargreaves would still be at Man Utd, he was a big part of them winning the Champions League the last time. If he can last 15 games then he would be worth a contract, but it depends on wages. I doubt he's got the pace or sharpness he had, but still, a great great player who would walk into our team if he was anywhere near where he was. But unfortunately I dont think he will be.

Everyone no's a fully fit Hargreaves would defo start but ONLY when he's fit and he would get in better teams than Leicester as well. I didn't mean for it to sound like he would be a bench warmer!
Bugg Posted 6 July 2011 Posted 6 July 2011 Maybe offer him a one year contract with low wages, but have a clause that would increase his contract length and salary after a certain number of games? Just a thought?
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 6 July 2011 Posted 6 July 2011 Maybe offer him a one year contract with low wages, but have a clause that would increase his contract length and salary after a certain number of games? Just a thought? be worth a gamble at that i agree
Brenfox Posted 6 July 2011 Posted 6 July 2011 Would be the best player in the division by a country mile. He already stated he is prepared to take a pay as you play deal. Get it done Sven
soley118 Posted 6 July 2011 Posted 6 July 2011 Would be the best player in the division by a country mile. He already stated he is prepared to take a pay as you play deal. Get it done Sven agreed take him on pay as you play nothing to loose
Cat Burger Posted 6 July 2011 Posted 6 July 2011 It wont happen i bet he gets singed by a prem club Ouch, he's been through enough
Itsthejoeker Posted 6 July 2011 Posted 6 July 2011 I don't think he'll want to go straight back to the prem for some reason
psychonaut Posted 6 July 2011 Posted 6 July 2011 Apparantly 2 teams in the MLS made enquiries one of them being Toronto FC and the other Vancouver but nothing else. The guy has made 2 apps in the last 2 seasons... if he went to a prem club even fully fit he would only be back up and maybe make a few apps as a sub. So i'd imagine if he is serious about playing again and getting a few more years out of his career, he'd want first team regular football. Either abroad or.... in the championship. Queue :sge:
Zed Posted 6 July 2011 Posted 6 July 2011 The Championship will finish him off. If he really wants to carry on he should go aboard, and play somewhere where its a bit warmer and the pace of the game is a bit slower. I agree he WAS a quality player but your only as good as your last game. So currently he is no good!

Queue :sge: [/quote/] Hasn't he actually only played less than 5 minutes worth of first team football in the last 2 seasons?

shade Posted 7 July 2011 Author Posted 7 July 2011 I think we should wait until there is actual news, otherwise we're speculating a completely fabricated rumour. but that would mean that either i was mistaken (i'm always right), or i'm a massive liar giraffe!?
Itsthejoeker Posted 7 July 2011 Posted 7 July 2011 Would love him here! Just take everything with a pinch of salt Giraffe! Stringer said he saw SSL at the traffic lights and no-one believed him.
80footgiraffe Posted 7 July 2011 Posted 7 July 2011 but that would mean that either i was mistaken (i'm always right), or i'm a massive liar giraffe!? No, but personally I think word of mouth is less reliable. Nothing personal. I'm tom by the way

i_am_lcfc Posted 7 July 2011 Posted 7 July 2011 He has the quality but like Woodgate i think we should offer him pay-to-play. Cant see this deal happening though he would demand too high of wages.
StevieLCFC Posted 7 July 2011 Posted 7 July 2011 Announced on Radio Leicester right this minute that Sven wants him.
Les-TA-Jon Posted 7 July 2011 Posted 7 July 2011 If it was anything other than a pay as you play deal it'd be madness to waste time and money on him
