ScouseFox Posted 18 April 2012 Posted 18 April 2012 Good goal that, well engineered move. Not sure about the defending like.
shen Posted 18 April 2012 Posted 18 April 2012 Fantastic pass by Ramires, if it was intentionally hit that way.
Bugg Posted 18 April 2012 Posted 18 April 2012 Looks like all that rolling around has paid off. I know, that's normally Barcelona's act!
marko Posted 18 April 2012 Posted 18 April 2012 I know, that's normally Barcelona's act! I know, but it appears they've been out "Barcelonad" by Drogba.
Libertine Dream Posted 18 April 2012 Posted 18 April 2012 The only way they're boring is from watching them outplay nearly every team they meet. And obviously they're not a one man team. Xavi and Iniesta have been masterful prior to Messi's arrival, and both are in a team that has won the WC and EC without him. Puyol has been amongst the top defenders in the world the past decade, Mascherano heralded as one of the best defensive midfielders out there, while Alves is recognised as one of the, if not THE best rightbacks in the game currently. Oh and Villa wasn't exactly a nobody before he joined them either. That said, most big teams have a star individual: Barca have Messi, Real have Ronaldo, Milan have Ibrahimovic, Man U have Rooney, Man City have Agüero etc. etc. It's all about opinion and what you like I suppose but I do not enjoy watching Barcelona tip tap the ball around and sterilise the game as they do. I admire their ability but I don't find it entertaining at all. I'd much rather watch Tottenham and how they played around Christmas time, or the way Blackpool played, it's quick attacking football with purpose and excitement. I didn't say they were a one man team, I'd just like to see if they are or not. They have numerous stars in the team but on the rare occasion I watch them, they have no impetus until Messi adds it. I imagine they'd be nearly as good without him as Fabregas and Iniesta would be more centre stage.
ScouseFox Posted 18 April 2012 Posted 18 April 2012 Barcelona would easily be one of the best teams in the world without Messi. If Messi wasn't there they'd produce another Messi. Or use Villa, Pedro, etc. They won the CL in 2006 without Messi being too involved in the first team, they'd do it again without him too.
Webbo Posted 18 April 2012 Posted 18 April 2012 Best team in the world? Fryatt would have finished off some of these chances.
21st Century Fox Posted 18 April 2012 Posted 18 April 2012 Iniesta reminds me of Kenny Powers brother Casper from Eastbound & Down.
Ilkeston_Fox Posted 18 April 2012 Posted 18 April 2012 Yeah well we've got Ben Marshall, not some Messi chap I hear about once in a while.
marko Posted 18 April 2012 Posted 18 April 2012 Bloody hell, can't believe Barca haven't scored there.
Webbo Posted 18 April 2012 Posted 18 April 2012 Good stuff. Should keep the everything English is shit crowd quiet for a while.
purpleronnie Posted 18 April 2012 Posted 18 April 2012 Great win, to stop barca scoring is pretty amazing thesedays. Can't help but to think one goal wont be enough.
Ilkeston_Fox Posted 18 April 2012 Posted 18 April 2012 How can everything English be shit? I'm English after all...... I know I know, sorry.
21st Century Fox Posted 18 April 2012 Posted 18 April 2012 I take back what I said about Di Matteo being out of his depth.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 18 April 2012 Posted 18 April 2012 Think Barca will turn it around, but good win for Chelsea
BlueSi13 Posted 18 April 2012 Posted 18 April 2012 Fancy that, a 6th placed Premier League team merks the Spanish and European champions Though in all fairness Barcelona should really see Chelsea off at the Nou Camp. 1-0 won't be enough.
