Pookie Posted 28 July 2011 Posted 28 July 2011 When was the last time he played 90 mins competitively? Anyone know?? He played in 2009/10 in the cup In his main break through season he played 22 times in the Premier League and Man City's record was - won 11, drew 3, lost 8, 36 pts without him in the team they won 4, drew 7, lost 5, 19 pts. If he can discover his old form, then we have a cracking player at this level. I hope so for the both our club and the player himself.
Stevosevic Posted 28 July 2011 Posted 28 July 2011 Has Johnson got a proplem with the pop though? He may well have when he was injured, it would be easy to lose focus and he would have been very low. I am sure that now he is fit and will be playing football again he will be fine. I hope.
who ate all the lies Posted 28 July 2011 Posted 28 July 2011 When was the last time he played 90 mins competitively? Anyone know?? He has been fairly regular in reserves, but his injury nightmare has been a real toughy, he had some terrible stomach things that they just couldn't get right, the daft thing is, now we have cash and can get a quality squad, he probably would of benefited from not having to be rushed back all the time. He came back for the cup a season or so ago and scored a wonder goal against scunthorpe, last goal on this clip Thanks for all your supportive comments, we are just waiting for the chorus of "city are buying the league" cos thats never happened before eh!!!! Man u haven't been buying the league for decades eh!!!! GGGGRRRRR

Ric Flair Posted 28 July 2011 Posted 28 July 2011 Has Johnson got a proplem with the pop though? Rumoured to have, likewise Nugent and St Ledger. These boys are gonna be smashing it up after every 5-0 demolition each weekend.
ROB-THE-BLUE Posted 28 July 2011 Posted 28 July 2011 Has Johnson got a proplem with the pop though? Perfect drinking partner for Bernie!

Pookie Posted 28 July 2011 Posted 28 July 2011 This signing and Fernandes means Oakley is further away from the starting line or closer to the door and for me that can't come soon enough. 2010/11 Season with Oakley in the starting 11 21 games - Won 5, Drew 5, Lost 11, F- 30, A - 41, 20pts (-11GD) Without Oakley starting 25 games - Won 14, Drew 5, Lost 6, F- 46, A- 30, 47 points (+16 GD) You can guess I am not an Oakley fan, I agree 1 player doesn't make a team, but sometimes when you look through the stats its amazing how a team performs with certain players in the starting 11.

Rocky Dennis Posted 28 July 2011 Posted 28 July 2011 VERY pleased/excited with this signing. However, I am slightly concerned with the weight gain! - Surely he will not be as mobile as he was before this?
dpjfox Posted 28 July 2011 Posted 28 July 2011 rumoured to have a gambling problem too. Forget rumours , the fact is he has the potential to boss this league!
ealingfox Posted 28 July 2011 Posted 28 July 2011 Is this a done deal or as good as then? Being discussed on the general forum like he's a fox already.
Happy Fox Posted 28 July 2011 Posted 28 July 2011 http://www.mcfc.co.uk/News/EDS-news/2011/July/Welsh-sweet-on-his-pick-n-mix Coach Welsh said: "The senior players were excellent. Craig and Nedum were first class, Michael's still a bit rusty but he worked hard up the right hand side in the first half.
Collymore Posted 28 July 2011 Posted 28 July 2011 Sensational. This is exactly what Wolves fans were saying to us about Mark Davies when we took him and they are quite similar in style, except Johnson has the ability to be streets ahead of Davies. KEEN Well if he had half the talent of Mark Davies then he would be unbelievable, to say he has the potential to be "streets ahead" of him is quite simply frightening, he could be the next Izzet.
Joe. Posted 28 July 2011 Posted 28 July 2011 Yeah whoever said earlier in the thread that Johnson had been fit for a while, that's not the case. He's only just played 45 minutes for the reserves, so it's going to take him a little while to bed in here. I honestly think this one has a Mark Davies written all over it. My Man City mate is adamant that if he was fit these days he'd still get games even for them.

Injuries can ruin players, but if some lads didn't suffer those injuries then clubs like us would never get hold of talent like Davies and Johnson. It's written in the stars for him to get back to his best here under Sven.

kitkatmint Posted 28 July 2011 Posted 28 July 2011 Has Johnson got a proplem with the pop though? Used to see him out all the time when I lived in Manchester. Always at 42s (bit like fan club). Seamed to love the booze. Good signing tho. Seen him play for the reserves looked decent.
Burmesefox Posted 28 July 2011 Posted 28 July 2011 ****ing hell - he's one fat bastard! We can't sign the Yak now or else they'll be fighting over the pies!
