Sorry to go against the grain here and call me 'disgraceful' or whatever you like (this is not to you personally Haydos!), but if Johnson and Fernandes come in, Danns, Wellens and Abe are gonna be pretty pissed off. They're all in their prime and will not accept sitting on the bench. I think it's too much. Some of you will say rotation but consistency is key in this league and our existing players won't be happy with a few starts in the middle of winter. To make it worse, we are still horribly depleted when it comes to fire power and width. I'm all for Sven but 6 central midfielders (5 of whom won't accept the bench) and 0 strikers or wingers of the same quality is a bit weird. Surely the loan fees/wages could have gone towards securing Yak or Maynard? Anyway, that's my piece. Shoot me down!

There's a delicate balance between squad rotation and having a settled first XI which needs to be addressed. Can't see the likes of King, Mills, Konchesky, Schmeichel and Nugent being rotated too often though. Also, with only 5 subs this season, realistically every match 2 of the 6 will miss out on the matchday squad entirely. That can't be good for morale.

And Sven's been saying for months he needs to trim the squad. He's just bought two players in (assuming Fernandes) that we don't need. I appreciate they strengthen the squad (jury's out for me with Johnson), but he's picked the strongest area of our squad to do so. I hope i'm proved wrong but gut instinct at the mo says these signings will hinder as much as help...

Re the width/strikers, it seems Andros Townsend is coming in and I believe we'll get Maynard. Plus goals wasn't the problem last year, keeping them out was!! We're going to be solid as a rock this season

And if players arent going to adapt they have no place in the team as Gallagher and Vassel had to last year. Fact is we only have one winger in the squad at the moment in Dyer and lets face it Sven isnt picking him ahead of these guys.
