Bert Posted 27 July 2011 Posted 27 July 2011 Sven wants two players for every position. Let him get on with it. He's the one with the amazing CV and all the badges. The squad know that it's going to be a TEAM effort this season.
Stevosevic Posted 27 July 2011 Posted 27 July 2011 Anyone else get the impression that we may be going a bit too far and players will be unhappy about the number of players we have. rather than relishing the competition to up their game? Wellens - King - Abe - Danns - Johnson - (Fernandes)

Think we should move a few on though. Very happy with Sven improving the quality of the squad though.

Not everyone is going to be able to play all the games all season.

Including international call ups if any of them in the international mix for their respective countries perform well for us.
john doe Posted 27 July 2011 Posted 27 July 2011 Including international call ups if any of them in the international mix for their respective countries perform well for us. and thats at least seven first team players?
MCFC.OK Posted 27 July 2011 Posted 27 July 2011 You alright lads, Manchester City fan here. Can't stop but notice how many good signings Sven has done for you lot & some off them are our ex players. Michael Johnson will be a quality player for you's (if he stays fit, hope he does) Backing you lot for promotion this season.
Criggers Posted 27 July 2011 Posted 27 July 2011 Abe, Danns, King, Johnson, Fernandes, Wellens, and Oakley. If we're playing 4-3-3 that's 2 player per position plus an ageing Mr Oakley. Now add in an ankle knock (for example) picked up in training and a suspension (probably Danns ) and suddenly we've got 4 players for 3 midfield spots plus an ageing Mr Oakley. I don't see how we're signing "too many" midfielders, do you?

Wherethefoxhat? Posted 27 July 2011 Posted 27 July 2011 It's because I don't 'love' any of the players. It's the team I support. Ahhhhh.....including Ritchie Wellens .....bless !!!!

Guest Posted 27 July 2011 Posted 27 July 2011 What about using King as bait for the Yak??? I didn't know that Yak was like that;
Toffee_Fox Posted 27 July 2011 Posted 27 July 2011 What about using King as bait for the Yak??? because they don't want him, they want the money.
I am Rod Hull Posted 27 July 2011 Posted 27 July 2011 What about using King as bait for the Yak??? King is worth more than the Yak... Its the age thing...
MikeyT Posted 27 July 2011 Posted 27 July 2011 Have been out all day and not seen what's happened. Anyone care to give me a very brief outline of what's gone on? According to @Fourth_Official he has signed on a season long loan?
Guest ttfn Posted 27 July 2011 Posted 27 July 2011 Are people seriously talking about getting rid of King? Andy King? The bloke who scored 15 goals from central midfield last season? The only regular first teamer from our youth set-up? The bloke who captained our team for about half of last season? The guy who would grace any central midfield in the Championship (bar possibly West Ham). The only player to be regularly selected under our past 3 permanent managers? That Andy King? You don't get anywhere by selling your best players. If Fernandes and Johnson both signed, King would still be the first name on my teamsheet every week. edit: I remember when Chelsea signed Veron and a whole load of other central midfielders, their fans, and others were saying they should get rid of Frank Lampard. King is our Frank Lampard. We need to build this team around him, hopefully giving him a few more breaks this season thanks to our extra squad depth.
Tomassi Posted 27 July 2011 Posted 27 July 2011 Wow!! And if Fernandes comes too then surely we have the best defence and midfield in the league (the latter maybe contested by West Ham though)... very confident of top two finish... just the cherry on top of the cake to come now!! Sven you Gem!
