Ozwin Posted 27 July 2011 Posted 27 July 2011 Come off it. Richie Wellens has offered more to this club that Gareth fvcking Williams.
ScouseFox Posted 27 July 2011 Posted 27 July 2011 Wellens was good for a few games in January, when everyone was good. Apart from that he was either nowhere to be seen, being completely dominated or giving the ball away with ridiculous 50 yarders and backheels. Still confuses me that people voted him as the best player to play for us throughout last season.
Ric Flair Posted 27 July 2011 Posted 27 July 2011 Come off it. Richie Wellens has offered more to this club that Gareth fvcking Williams. I'm not saying his career with Leicester completely mirrors how Williams was for us, but they are similar in the fact that at the time our fans were clouded by some fancy passes and the odd decent performance but on reflection they flatter to deceive.
Joethemightyone Posted 27 July 2011 Posted 27 July 2011 Some people are crazy! How is this a risk? It is a loan deal. We already have a strong midfield... Granted, but this will make it stronger! Quality signing should it come off.
Wherethefoxhat? Posted 27 July 2011 Posted 27 July 2011 If Wellens is our best footballer then we will never get promoted. The lad is League One at best. Another one who badly needs another hobby because he clearly knows FA about football !!!!!
Ric Flair Posted 27 July 2011 Posted 27 July 2011 Another one who badly needs another hobby because he clearly knows FA about football !!!!! Haha, whatever mate. What has Richie Wellens ever achieved in his footballing career? He's lower league fodder that at his peak allowed him to compete at Championship level.
hackneyfox Posted 27 July 2011 Author Posted 27 July 2011 Another one who badly needs another hobby because he clearly knows FA about football !!!!! So as Tony Wilson said 'You're entitled to an opinion but your opinion is shit' but he was probably taking the piss. Get over yourself.

He's a bit of an enigma really...like a poor mans Le Tissier. Don't think he's Premier League quality so he's probably only got 1 more year anyway. If he was any good he'd have proved it at a higher level by now. Michael Johnson is loads better and would rip this division a new arse....sign him up Sven :sge:
back2oldbrittain Posted 27 July 2011 Posted 27 July 2011 Haha, whatever mate. What has Richie Wellens ever achieved in his footballing career? Ric Flair Posted 27 July 2011 Posted 27 July 2011 thought i seen a few premier league clubs interested in wellens in january transfers. think wellens would fit well into our premiership side next season Unfounded rumours. Incidently Gareth Williams left us to go to the Premiership and as i've said he was as mythical a figure as Wellens is here.
Wherethefoxhat? Posted 27 July 2011 Posted 27 July 2011 Sorry to turn this in to a Wellens debate but in about 3 years time we'll look back on Wellens time with Leicester and snigger like we do about Gareth Williams tenure. He flatters to deceive something rotten. Absolute bullshite !!!!! You would'nt know a decent footballer if one tapped you on the shoulder and said goal !!!!! Like i said......take up gardening or something !!!!
Wherethefoxhat? Posted 27 July 2011 Posted 27 July 2011 So as Tony Wilson said 'You're entitled to an opinion but your opinion is shit' but he was probably taking the piss. Get over yourself. Who rattled your cage ??? You're another one.....clueless.....take up Bowls or something !!!!

Simmo86 Posted 27 July 2011 Posted 27 July 2011 How about you open your eyes and see Wellens isn't god you clueless twerp!!!
absolutelegend Posted 27 July 2011 Posted 27 July 2011 thought i seen a few premier league clubs interested in wellens in january transfers agent talk just as he was negotiating a new contract.
Brainy Posted 27 July 2011 Posted 27 July 2011 It's all about opinion, Some people rate Oakley, some even rate Weale and Dyer ffs.

Number 6 Posted 27 July 2011 Posted 27 July 2011 Sorry to ruin this and go back on topic but could prove to be a great signing. I'm sure at the time he was breaking in to the Man C team he was linked with Arsenal a few times. Think he could provide something different and certainly has something to prove. Would be a great signing.
Guest Basildon Fox Posted 27 July 2011 Posted 27 July 2011 Who rattled your cage ??? You're another one.....clueless.....take up Bowls or something !!!! Wellens is very inconsistant. All too often distinctly average. Not a bad player but no where near as good as you think he is. Anybody who knows football realises the best way to attack is (a) to keep psession ( b) move it at speed and © do not keep trying hollywood balls when a shorter ball to a player who has made space for himself is the easier option. I am afraid that Richie very rarely realises this and is all too often concerned with Cruyff turns in his own half followed by a 60 yard ball to no one. Don't get me wrong when he is on his game he looks very good but he is too one paced to ever make a top footballer and at 31 is not going to get anyt better. IMO we have tried to rely on him too much as some sort of play maker and he is just not up to that role on a consistant basis. Seems like a nice bloke but we need winners if we are to progress and there can be no room for sentiment in football. I support Leicester firstly and not the players. They come and go and if you really think that there was a chance he could have gone to the Premiership last season do you think he would have stayed here?
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 27 July 2011 Posted 27 July 2011 Providing we aren't spaffing cash away on this one and Man City are covering our arses, I'd like to see it happen. Should he get any kind of sharpness back he'd be our best central midfielder since Mark Davies.
