What's gareth Williams up to these days?

To put it bluntly f**k all! Long term injury forced him to go to the US to see a specialist to try and get it sorted. He trained with a few MLS teams but they weren't interested

Dont understand why Wellens is being discussed. Johnson offers creativity which we havent had for a while therefore would be a top signing. Wellens is a different type of midfielder. No Wellens isnt world class, although he was one of our most consistent players last season and deserved his awards.

Exactly what type of midfielder is Wellens? This is where I have the issue with him. He's neither attacking nor defensive.

He is somewhere inbetween id say ha! Capable of doing both. I think its King who should be worried if we sign Johnson, both attacking players.

Roy Keane was a similar mould though, although obviously different class!

My Man City supporting mate raves about him, I trust his judgement. Says he'd "run the show" in the Championship if he could stay fit.

He is best at sitting in the middle of the trio and spreading the play, he does have his moments of sheer class but Is very inconsistent.

On 7 July 2009, Wellens joined Leicester City for a potential fee of £1.2 million,[4] signing a three-year contract.[5] Their biggest signing of the summer, Wellens was named by the BBC Sport as the club's key player for the 2009–10 season.[6] He made his debut in a 2–1 win over Swansea City on 8 August 2009,[7] scoring his first goal in a 2–0 win over Middlesbrough on 2 May 2010.[8] Wellens featured in all but three matches for Leicester in The Championship that season. He played a crucial role in Nigel Pearson's team that successfully reached the play-offs - only to lose to Cardiff City away in Wales.[9]

In his second season at the club, Wellens continued to play his crucial role in midfield under the reign of both Paulo Sousa and Sven-Göran Eriksson. He was named the Football League Championship Player of the Month for his performances in January 2011.[10] Wellens was named the club's player of the year on 3 May 2011.[11]

I rest my case ..............you are soooo full of shite Riccy boy !!!!!!

So somebody else's opinion (which is shit) agrees with yours, so****ingwhat.

Plenty seem to agree that Wellens isn't that good, doesn't necessarily make us right either.

Are you friend with him on facebook or do you Twitter him?

You cut a lonely near isolated figure. Wellens is overrated. I have heard all the crap about 'when Wellens plays well Leicester play well', the real and absolute truth is that Wellens only played well when Leicester played well. He was a very average, underwhelming player who when the going got difficult was lazy and ineffective. We had our best 45 minutes of the season, scoring three goals ( against Watford I think ) when Wellens was substituted. Yuki Abe ran the show. Wellens best position is on the bench!
