hackneyfox Posted 27 July 2011 Author Posted 27 July 2011 I'm not worried about any player being pushed out if the replacements are an improvement, that applies to every member of the squad. If we don't go up this year then next seasons financing rules could cause us major problems.

ROB-THE-BLUE Posted 27 July 2011 Posted 27 July 2011 ..but its debatable as to whether they are improvements! Johnson has hardly kicked a ball for 2 years!
Happy Fox Posted 27 July 2011 Posted 27 July 2011 I trust Sven's call on this one if he thinks he can do a job that is fine by me
hackneyfox Posted 27 July 2011 Author Posted 27 July 2011 At last somebody gets it! It's because I don't 'love' any of the players. It's the team I support.
escos Posted 27 July 2011 Posted 27 July 2011 I trust Sven's call on this one if he thinks he can do a job that is fine by me ****ing hell!! The sensible posters seem to be out in force today.
Leicester_Loyal Posted 27 July 2011 Posted 27 July 2011 I'm not worried about any player being pushed out if the replacements are an improvement, that applies to every member of the squad. :appl: About time somebody said it.
artursteppe Posted 27 July 2011 Posted 27 July 2011 ..but its debatable that they are improvements! Johnson has hardly kicked a ball for 2 years! He had great potential before his injury problems. He is young, if he is now fit he will still have great potential. He will be no risk if we have him on loan. No other midfield players will be released or leave unless they want to. This will be Matt Oakley's last season anyway. Everyone else will be 'on trial' for the whole of the season to secure a place in what will hopefully be Leicester City in the Premiership next season. Why do people not get used to the idea that we are now operating as a Premiership team in effect, with a very large quality squad that will be hoping to win the league and do well in both cups, hopefully playing over fifty matches by the end of this season. There will be injuries, possibly suspensions, African Nations competition and rotation. Everyone should stop thinking we are some sort of 'village' club. Sven and the owners are already planning for ( hopefully ) Premiership football next seasn. Get Used To It Guys!

True I guess, I just think back to Matty Piper and how he never fulfilled the potential he had because of his serious injuries but yeah I suppose a loan would be low risk for everyone involved
Bezzanator89 Posted 27 July 2011 Posted 27 July 2011 Loan is ideal then! Pay as you play more like...
ROB-THE-BLUE Posted 27 July 2011 Posted 27 July 2011 Pay as you play more like... Doubt thats possible as he's under contract at Man City?
Kilworthfox Posted 27 July 2011 Posted 27 July 2011 Hope we get both don't mind seeing the back of Oakley and even if Wellens left I wouldn't be too disappointed. They've both had good times in the Premiership and there still young! Last seasons player of the season? C'mon... It's ur opinion but he is our best footballer.
Callabinho Posted 27 July 2011 Posted 27 July 2011 The best thing about Johnson is his ability to pick the ball up and just run with it, this could be a vital trait in a scrappy Tuesday night away game. Potentially a great signing.
escos Posted 27 July 2011 Posted 27 July 2011 IMO he is exactly the type of player we are lacking. As i said in another thread the teams that got promoted last season were all promoted because of their creative players rather than their strikers.
MC Prussian Posted 27 July 2011 Posted 27 July 2011 We're slowly turning into Manchester City Mk.II. Not that I'm complaining.
Austin Posted 27 July 2011 Posted 27 July 2011 He may end up play with 5 across midfield and a lone striker with King just behind him.
80footgiraffe Posted 27 July 2011 Posted 27 July 2011 He may end up play with 5 across midfield and a loan striker with King just behind him. The old 3-5-1-1
hackneyfox Posted 27 July 2011 Author Posted 27 July 2011 Last seasons player of the season? C'mon... It's ur opinion but he is our best footballer. That is your opinion, there are many that disagree.

Wherethefoxhat? Posted 27 July 2011 Posted 27 July 2011 That is your opinion, there are many that disagree. Really ???? Soooo...who WAS our best non-loan footballer last season then ??????
Ozwin Posted 27 July 2011 Posted 27 July 2011 He was one of the brightest prospects going about 4 years ago, then he got fat. If he can rekindle that old form that got everyone talking then I'd love him here. I doubt Sven would be interested if he didn't see something still there.
Ric Flair Posted 27 July 2011 Posted 27 July 2011 Last seasons player of the season? C'mon... It's ur opinion but he is our best footballer. If Wellens is our best footballer then we will never get promoted. The lad is League One at best.
Ric Flair Posted 27 July 2011 Posted 27 July 2011 Really ???? Soooo...who WAS our best non-loan footballer last season then ?????? Andy King. No brainer. Scored 15 goals and a fair amount of assists. He won us more matches than Wellens did single handidly and he went missing in about the same amount of games as the show pony.
hackneyfox Posted 27 July 2011 Author Posted 27 July 2011 Really ???? Soooo...who WAS our best non-loan footballer last season then ?????? Why do they have to be non-loan players? Wellens blew very hot and cold last season, as he has done throughout most of his time with us. It's all about opinion, and unsurprisingly people's differ about each and every player. Some people rate Oakley, some even rate Weale and Dyer ffs. Fryatt and Morrison have split opinions on this board yet Morrison was The Wendies worst player last season.
Ric Flair Posted 27 July 2011 Posted 27 July 2011 Sorry to turn this in to a Wellens debate but in about 3 years time we'll look back on Wellens time with Leicester and snigger like we do about Gareth Williams tenure. He flatters to deceive something rotten.
