sbfox Posted 7 August 2011 Posted 7 August 2011 Fosse Boys did the Grecques before Manchester City played Lech Poznan. Leicester fans didn't realise what they were doing untill the Manchester City game in the cup. FACT. Are the Fosse Boys still: a) calling it 'grecques' b) still whining banging on about how they were first to do it and therefore better than other fans?
MORGAN Posted 7 August 2011 Posted 7 August 2011 The only thing I can think of that is Leicester's own is "When you're smiling", from the story I heard about it. "Youll never walk alone" would always be classed as the anthem of Liverpool, but Celtic half-iched that and reckon they started it off, like the "poznan" and all other things they happen to do. "Youll never walk alone" is a nathem of Liverpool,Celtic and BVB 09 Dortmund by the way sing by about 80000k fans which about 20000k + is from stand where you only can stand!!! No seat at all!!!!!
The Doctor Posted 7 August 2011 Posted 7 August 2011 Are the Fosse Boys still: a) calling it 'grecques' b) still whining banging on about how they were first to do it and therefore better than other fans? a) well it is a grecque. b) I've never seen a member of the group doing anything of the sort.
Ashley Posted 7 August 2011 Posted 7 August 2011 Are the Fosse Boys still: a) calling it 'grecques' b) still whining banging on about how they were first to do it and therefore better than other fans? Correct name for it, its not the poznan. Where have they said there better than other fans? I'm not a Fosse Boy but I can't remember reading anywhere on this forum that they claim to better than other fans. Elighten us all on here?
Finchy Posted 7 August 2011 Posted 7 August 2011 Look, we're not a club that can start our own original things, we should be able to but for whatever reason our fans aren't the type anymore. We can't even get more than a couple hundred people singing When You're Smiling, our song. So people saying stop copying, come up with something better would ya. We've got a rare thing here, lots of City fans willing to do something other than sing Lesturr Lesturr Lesturr and something that creates a good atmosphere, I'm all for anything like that.
Mickey O'Neil Posted 7 August 2011 Posted 7 August 2011 It was quality at Cov. First time I've done it. Nobody gets forced to do it, like it's been said, do it if ye want, don't bother if not. As for originality, there's very few clubs with original songs and celebrations. The majority are ripped off from other teams so how people have the cheek to say that's embarrassing is beyond me. As far as I know, we are the only ones who do "When You're Smiling" albeit quite badly. Maybe those that find it embarrassing should push WYS a bit more. We used to be good at WYS. I remember the whole of pen 3 and pen 4 doing it and it looked fantastic.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 7 August 2011 Posted 7 August 2011 After every goal "nude up if you love leicester" we will be the envy of every team
LCFCmatt Posted 7 August 2011 Posted 7 August 2011 The stupid kids in front of me do the Poznan after we score, and after we've kicked off again, so I can't see the match, and I feel uncomfortable with them facing me. Anyone else feel the same?
Jakemoore Posted 7 August 2011 Posted 7 August 2011 Let the boring old shit heads stand still while the passionate fun loving fans rock the Poznan!!! On a side note; facing forward would also be great!
Haydos Posted 7 August 2011 Posted 7 August 2011 The stupid kids in front of me do the Poznan after we score, and after we've kicked off again, so I can't see the match, and I feel uncomfortable with them facing me. Anyone else feel the same? Sit down the front?
Bugg Posted 8 August 2011 Posted 8 August 2011 After hearing that a majority of fans turned their back to goal as a celebrating a winner against our rivals on Saturday, I am appalled and will be handing my season ticket in straight away
Guest Col city fan Posted 8 August 2011 Posted 8 August 2011 I want to know other City fans opinions on this. For me, The Poznan is Manchester City's celebration. We've nicked it. It's not ours. With all the other similarities between us and them (Sven/ex Man City players/rich new owners/people saying we're buying the league etc.), isn't this just going a step too far? We're not Man City, we're Leicester and we should bloody well act like it. I know they nicked it from Polish fans, but at least it was new over here. I don't get it either - surely linking arms but facing forward would give them same effect to the rest of the stadium, but allow you to see what's going on? As much as I like a unique celebration, I'd really like us to pack this in and do something original. Who actually gives a fook? Were you bullied at school?
FrankieADZ Posted 8 August 2011 Posted 8 August 2011 I suggest we "Borrow" some other celebration then.
Babylon Posted 8 August 2011 Posted 8 August 2011 Anyone who is embarrassed by the Poznan really needs to get out more. It's a bit of fun FFS, get over yourself. I'm not embarrassed by it, I'm just embarrassed for those doing it... But if someone want to prance around they can knock themselves out, just don't try grabbing me and doing it as you'll end up doing the Poznan on the floor.
boring_jester Posted 8 August 2011 Posted 8 August 2011 Do you think it will spread to the Kop this season?
Babylon Posted 8 August 2011 Posted 8 August 2011 Do you think it will spread to the Kop this season? No because they have more sense... plus I'm in there and will do a sit down protest.
boring_jester Posted 8 August 2011 Posted 8 August 2011 I do like the sight of it. but i wouldnt like to be in the middle of it. like someones already said why turn your back to the team while they have just scored. if you scored a goal and ran to the sideline to celebrte to the home fans and they all have there back to you. I think you would be like what the fvck! But at the same time its better then the celebration 3 lads next to me did every game for two seasons. wiggling there fingertips pretending it was rain .over each others heads. every time me and the misses was like what the fvck
Fox92 Posted 8 August 2011 Posted 8 August 2011 Don't like it that much, but shove what everyone else's doing, I just celebrate in my own way.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 8 August 2011 Posted 8 August 2011 This happened at a footy match i went to the other week....i think we should all do it!
themotivator Posted 8 August 2011 Posted 8 August 2011 This happened at a footy match i went to the other week....i think we should all do it! looks like a quidditch stadium to me. oh and i also think that jobber has beaten you to this one.
Head Honcho Posted 8 August 2011 Posted 8 August 2011 No! Overheard a bunch of lads in coventry town centre talking about it and to say I was a little embarrassed is an understatement. These lads hadn't even been to the match but were pissing themselves when someone told them about it.
