Len Finsbury Posted 29 August 2011 Posted 29 August 2011 Some people won't be happy until there's only soft applause to celebrate goals.
Unabomber Posted 29 August 2011 Posted 29 August 2011 looks good, what do people who don't like it prefer? at least its not "left side right side" / chelsea dagger - do cov still do this?
John Matrix Posted 29 August 2011 Posted 29 August 2011 Guess what folks despite any poles or opinions on here they are going to F***king well do it weather you like it or not ! get over yourselves ! who's Polish on here? or do you mean North Pole/South Pole because you seem to be talking about the weather too.
Unabomber Posted 29 August 2011 Posted 29 August 2011 one more thing it does my nut in is when people say its not original. what the fuck is original nowadays? if we came up with a celebration at a football match that was original Duncan fucking Bannatyne would be spaffing in his overpriced pants.
panky and our gang Posted 29 August 2011 Posted 29 August 2011 If we must stop anything it's that moronic song " and it's Leicester city Fc we're by far the greatest team the world has ever seen " No we're F***ing not ! stop it and stop it now lol
Jollie Posted 29 August 2011 Posted 29 August 2011 I thought it was long ago banned in L1/K1... It's coming back into fashion in J1
Corky Posted 29 August 2011 Posted 29 August 2011 eh? To me there is nothing more original than jumping up and down going mental and hugging random people but hey each to their own and all that. I was making the point that people type about doing something original without suggesting anything. I personally don't have a massive problem with it, Mexican waves and "Ole's" when we're 1-0 up are far more annoying.
Mike the Metal Ed Posted 30 August 2011 Posted 30 August 2011 If we must stop anything it's that moronic song " and it's Leicester city Fc we're by far the greatest team the world has ever seen " No we're F***ing not ! stop it and stop it now lol Okay, we'll cut out that particular song we've been singing for decades on the grounds that it's a little bit factually innaccurate. "And it's Leicester City, Leicester City FC, How good we are, nobody knows, fans left 5 minutes ago."
Bayfox Posted 31 August 2011 Posted 31 August 2011 Marseille used this years before Man City took it on and it became known as the Poznan over here for some reason, Personally I think it works well away from home with a small area all joining in but not at the walkers, although as L1 only really took it on after the Man City FA Cup game and the reasons behind the that, I tend to look on it as a positive thing that happend that day, a show of solidairty between 2 clubs. Afterall there is a lot wrong with football. Maybe more people should at it as a positve thing. That said, maybe we could just ditch the generic music and celebrations and just going back to old fashioned Pen1 style, going mental, hugging your mates, falling over seats and general abuse of the away fans!!

What? Look, they copied it off FC Poznan, we copied it off them. It's as simple as that. And personally, I don't think we should do it anymore. Goal celebrations used to be the one thing with guaranteed spontaneity - now even our goal celebration is the same with every goal...

You do understand WHY we joined them in doing it in the 24th minute of our 3rd round cup tie against them last season don't you? if not you have made my point.

As far as I remember it no-one in the Leicester end did it in the 24th minute. Leicester fans just started doing it after that match because they thought it looked good (which at times it does). Think it should have been left in last season though. Can't see generations of LCFC fans carrying it on, it's just a fad and one that will die out soon enough.

Watch a video or ask anyone that understands the history of our club, Man City fans started doing it in the 24th Minute of our cup tie as Neil Young had passed away the week the cup draw was made and he scored the winner against us in the 24th minute of the cup final in 1969, L1 joined in at that point and then tevez scored for them almost at the same moment, but the Man City fans gave L1 a round of applause at the time, I'm not saying I'm for or against the poznan (marseille rip off) for the record, but I think everyone should understand the reasons behind it starting, but what chance when our own fans are so clueless. I stand in the Kop before anyone acccuses me of being baised to L1.

I stand in the Kop before anyone acccuses me of being baised to L1. Man City fans were in L1 for a start but that might be me being pedantic. And I know why the Poznan was done during that match and the history of our club. But I was in the block next to the away fans (K block) and was part of the standing group at the back. I don't recall anyone doing it, maybe a bit of applause for the gesture towards the Man City fans from the Leicester end as a sign of respect but not anyone joining in at the time. Tevez scored towards the end of the half as well and Milner just before the 24th minute. The way I see it is that people thought it looked good and decided to start doing it at games thereafter. I'm not sure it is anything to do with solidarity or anything like that. Why would we be wanting solidarity with a club because we played them in an FA Cup final once and the guy who scored the winner was battling cancer at a time we happened to play them in a match in the FA Cup during which their fans decided to make a show of support for the guy?! But if that's how you'd like to see it I'm sure it's all very romantic for you.
Ozwin Posted 1 September 2011 Posted 1 September 2011 I kind of see it as a symbol of us getting money and being seemingly on the up.
C.J Posted 19 September 2011 Posted 19 September 2011 The Poznan is sh*t, we get alot of stick for doing it. Whatever happened to shoes off if you love Leicester??? That was our chance to have somthing unique that no other club did (unlike the Poznan), and we let it slip. We should bring shoes off back.

C.J Posted 19 September 2011 Posted 19 September 2011 Really? I require some proof, like one of Vic Reeves drawings or something.
Al-aLondon-Foxile Posted 19 September 2011 Posted 19 September 2011 I like the Poznan but I have to say it appears from the outside that we're a poor mans man city and I think we should stop.
leicesterisme Posted 19 September 2011 Posted 19 September 2011 I like the Poznan but I have to say it appears from the outside that we're a poor mans man city and I think we should stop. I don't mind being a poor mans Man City at all tbf.
Larry_LCFC Posted 19 September 2011 Posted 19 September 2011 I was open minded about the poznan because people should be able to celebrate how they like. But I have to say I am finding more cringeworthy every time i see it. Literally every team we play says it makes us look tinpot and Im afraid i now agree. Either everyone needs to do it or no-one because having 1 or 2 blocks doing it on there own just looks silly.
Bert Posted 19 September 2011 Posted 19 September 2011 Newcastle started 'SHOES OFF'..... Yup, and we copied it from Bristol City.
