Boro fox Posted 22 January 2012 Posted 22 January 2012 Weale's conceded two so far on his Northampton debut. Both from outside the area...
flowwolf Posted 26 January 2012 Posted 26 January 2012 Don't suppose his defense had any thing to do with it ?
Proud_Fox Posted 28 January 2012 Posted 28 January 2012 Chris Weale could of done better with the goal Northampton conceded today, he came half way for a corner and stopped
beemeroo Posted 2 February 2012 Posted 2 February 2012 Chris Weale could of done better with the goal Northampton conceded today, he came half way for a corner and stopped Hey, watch what you're saying. The lads easily too good for that league. His confidence was just knocked because of the Ricardo saga.
davieG Posted 14 February 2012 Author Posted 14 February 2012 McGhee happy to keep faith with young duo Bristol Rovers boss Mark McGhee believes his fledgling central defensive pairing is destined for great things when both players eventually return to Leicester City. McGhee took the brave decision to pitch young on-loan Leicester City pair Tom Parkes and Cian Bolger in together for Saturday's clash with Morecambe at the Memorial Stadium and was rewarded with a 2-1 victory. The pair have a combined age of 39 and have played just over 50 games between them at senior level, but impressed alongside each other at the heart of Rovers' defence just 24 hours after Parkes penned a loan deal to team up with Leicester team-mate Bolger again. The duo are expected to maintain their starting places for Rovers' trip to Shrewsbury tonight as they continue their careers, which, according to McGhee, could eventually see them end up being talked about in the same breath as a couple of Leicester legends. "I had no fears about starting Cian and Tom together and was absolutely thrilled with the way they both played," said McGhee. "Those two boys have played alongside each other right the way through their youth team careers, so it wasn't an issue for me. "They know each other very well and I know for sure that it is a partnership that Leicester have big ambitions for. They see them as a bit of a future (Matt) Elliott and (Gerry) Taggart combination." A solid test of their defensive credentials, however, awaits the Leicester duo at Greenhous Meadow tonight against a Shrewsbury side who remain unbeaten and have conceded a paltry seven goals on their home patch this season. "It's a tremendous record," said McGhee. "They are a very potent attacking team with some very forward-thinking players. They attack with width and put teams on the back foot, particularly when they are playing at home. We need to try and turn that round and get them going the other way. "It'll be a big ask, but we are in a good frame of mind and can go there with a degree of confidence based on our own recent results. Maybe seven or eight games ago nobody would give us a chance ahead of a game at Shrewsbury." Rovers are yet to lose a league game since Paul Buckle left the club in December and have strung together a five-game unbeaten run, which has started to ease any fears of relegation – albeit not totally erase them. Rovers increased the distance between themselves and the relegation zone to 13 points on the back of Saturday's victory. That win also saw the side move to within seven points of the play-off positions – but don't mention that to McGhee. "You have to be realistic," he said. "We've just had a fantastic run, but at some point that run will come to an end. We'd probably need to win the next five games to start talking about the play-offs. "I'm not thinking about that right now. It would distracting and a bit egotistical. It would also be wrong at a time when we need to keep our feet firmly on the ground. "We have found some form that would see us safe if it can continue. "We have to be aware, however, that all sorts of things could happen to undermine us. You never know when you might pick up a few injuries and the squad could be back to the bare bones and then you're under pressure again. "There is a finite number of points you require to be more or less safe. We'd be looking at around 48, so that leaves us still with a significant number of games to win before we can say that we will, at the very minimum, be playing in this division next year. "As long as we can keep the players injury-free, I'm confident that we'll get the points. At this moment in time, however, we are still considered amongst the relegation candidates and we have to rid ourselves of that stigma before we start talking about anything else."

Saxondale Posted 14 February 2012 Posted 14 February 2012 Cracking. Bolger seems to have been doing well for them all season. Might try and trawl a Rovers forum and get some insight.
sphericalfox Posted 14 February 2012 Posted 14 February 2012 Think this is pretty much covered in the loanee thread by davieg
GingerrrFox Posted 14 February 2012 Posted 14 February 2012 I'd be fvcking buzzing for a ginger combination in the heart of the defence! You don't get any harder than gingers! WHO WANTS IT?!?
davieG Posted 15 February 2012 Author Posted 15 February 2012 On-loan Leicester goalkeeper Chris Weale has returned to the King Power Stadium to have an injury assessed. Weale, who has been on loan at Northampton, went down in a heap with what looked like a knee injury in the final minute of the Cobblers' 1-0 home win over AFC Wimbledon on Tuesday night. He had to be replaced and the 30-year-old is back with the Foxes to have the problem assessed by the club's medical staff. Weale joined Northampton last month and has made three appearances for the League Two club.

Narborough_fox Posted 15 February 2012 Posted 15 February 2012 According to my Northampton supporting mate the commentators thought it was cramp so it couldn't of been that serious...
davieG Posted 16 February 2012 Author Posted 16 February 2012 Goalkeeper Chris Weale has returned to Leicester City at the end of his month on loan. Weale picked up a knee injury in the closing stages of Tuesday's 1-0 win over AFC Wimbledon and boss Aidy Boothroyd confirmed that injury has brought his loan spell to an end. "Chris has had his knee scanned and the result of that scan shows that he needs an operation," confirmed the Cobblers boss.

ScouseFox Posted 17 February 2012 Posted 17 February 2012 Bolger did one of the best air kicks I've ever seen at the weekend, lead directly to them conceding. It was great. Top class. Other than that, in the two games they've played together, everyone seems happy.
ScouseFox Posted 17 March 2012 Posted 17 March 2012 Bolger got MotM and the pair got another clean sheet today. Parkes with a Jack Hobbs of old performance, every time the ball went in the air, you knew the commentator was going to say "Parkes gets his head to that first". Both doing well.
Jimmy Posted 26 March 2012 Posted 26 March 2012 surprised no one has mentioned this but Franck Moussa won the JPT yesterday

Krimbinho Posted 27 March 2012 Posted 27 March 2012 I still think he will make it! Really hope he's given a chance in pre-season.
