Sylvan Ebanks-Blake

I would have thought that Ebanks-Blake would be really p****d off not ever getting a game - he's ALWAYS on the bench and never starts (and often doesn't even come on as Sub - as he didn't at the weekend). I would imagine there's a chance Wolves would let him go if the money was 'right' (and they had another striker available) - but whether it would be us, is another matter. I've heard that Southampton are pretty keen on this - they're playing 'Old Man Connolly' at the moment (though he is bagging goals for them and playing very well, according to the papers).

Another factor that should be borne in mind, as to whether SEB would be sold, is that Kevin Doyle has just got back to full fitness, after a really long lay-off. Now he's back, he'll either be in the starting line-up, or be on the bench - probably at Ebanks-Blake's expense. I don't know if they've got any other strikers at the club - or if they're linked with anyone who might come in, to allow for Ebanks-Blake to leave.

This thread is far too sensible and has no business being on Foxestalk. Please close immediately to allow space for a thread to be opened on Carlos Tevez.

Keeping with the sensible theme, he is proven at this level and would be available at a much better price than other stated targets. IF this rumour is true, I would be very pleased indeed

Ebanks-Blake also possible.

Speaking again to MS (Express & Star) this morning. He says, SEB will be sold, if Doyle proves his fitness and a bidding club makes, " a more realistic offer" - ie he got the impression that Wolves think Southampton's £3.5m bid is too low. McCarthy told him yesterday that, "Sven was one of 3 or 4 Championship Managers who'd made enquiries of SEB's availability

What price is realistic 4.5m perhaps?

Quite surprised to read he's still only 25, he seems to have been around for ages. So has more experience at this level and is still only a year older than Maynard.

He certainly knows how to score at Championship level, has scored 20 a season before; winning back-to-back Golden Boots only three years back.

At £4m-ish, he'd be a bargain.

How the hell you only have an average 8.3 posts per day is beyond me :S

From what MS said, it sounds like Wolves don't think the offer is massively far short of his value. I'd guess that £4.5m is realistic, yes.

Why would Rickie Lambert leave Southampton who have probably got a squad as good ours.

It would be a bit of a sideways move.

Wouldn't say there squad Is quite as good as ours IMO

No, that would be to Portsmouth or Brighton, it would be an upwards move!

This guy was mentioned many times earlier in the summer. I think I might have even banged on about him a few times. Sure this bloke would be a good signing and if an earlier post was right, at 25 he'd be a steal. I thought he was about 30!

80% of his posts are in the transfer forum and in the Robbie Keane thread he's made over 5 times the posts as the next person lol
