Nick Posted 17 August 2011 Posted 17 August 2011 Love or hate him, he is quality. Absolutely, shame about the lobotomy.
HankMarvin Posted 17 August 2011 Posted 17 August 2011 In-demand Beckford wants to stick with Toffees jermaine-beckford-everton-cropped Jermaine Beckford has told Everton he wants to stay, rather than be sold to boost the club’s transfer kitty. Manager David Moyes would be prepared to cash in on Beckford just a year after picking him up on a free from Leeds, despite rejecting a Leicester bid for the striker . Moyes has had little success trying to generate cash by offloading squad outcasts Yakubu and Joseph Yobo, and may sell Beckford if Leicester return with a bid closer to £4m. However, the 27-year-old former Chelsea trainee does not want to drop down to the Championship having worked his way up to the top flight from non-League Wealdstone. Beckford is adamant he can succeed in the Premier League and was the Blues’ joint-top scorer last season, albeit with only 10 goals in 38 appearances. However, Moyes was frustrated with him at times and would consider selling for the right price so he could add at least one new face this summer.
surrifox Posted 18 August 2011 Posted 18 August 2011 I hope we do not take this any further - I have a feeling that Beckford has the potential to match Campbell 's rating on the cockometer
Super_Fox_Boy Posted 18 August 2011 Posted 18 August 2011 http://peoplesgroup.wordpress.com/2011/08/17/the-blue-unions-meeting-with-bill-kenwright/ Sounds like Everton are quite desperate. Maybe we should put in a cheeky bid for Arteta as well as he's not 1 of 4 Kenwrights not prepared to sell. I of course am joking about that btw before people think i'm being deluded. I do think we have a good chance of landing Beckford whether he wants to come here or not.
Darkon84 Posted 18 August 2011 Posted 18 August 2011 they cant force anyone.. he could simply say he wants to stay and fight for his place.. or could be happy to sit in the reserves doing nothing yet get paid full wages.. A la Winston Bogarde.

Time for some new names in the transfer section

surrifox Posted 18 August 2011 Posted 18 August 2011 back in the day we all accepted that the really serious transfer activity took place at around 11.59.75pm on the final day of transfer dealings (deadline day) . This was because of the cause and effect of player movements (one club shifts a player which enables the chain to move and brings together the buyers and sellers) I'm sure there will be something similar later in the month, be patient

kingfox Posted 18 August 2011 Posted 18 August 2011 Don't know why were giving up on Beckford, Everton need to sell to buy. 2.5 million was absolutely insulting in all fairness, he is worth about £4 million in my view bid that we would easily get him.

Praps cos he don't want to join us or step down. Seems a good reason to give up to me.

Because Beckford doesn't want to drop down a division? They need to sell but they can't just accept a bid, click their fingers and poof, the players been sold.
Joeb.lcfc Posted 19 August 2011 Posted 19 August 2011 Yakubu and santa cruz it is then ! thats a pretty decent set of strikers to have as back up if others don't sign
Guest Basildon Fox Posted 19 August 2011 Posted 19 August 2011 May be nothing but did anyone else hear Keys & Gray on Talksport this morning? They were talking about Everton and not being able to buy anyone. They mentioned not losing anyone which was a good thing but that Beckford could be going to a top Championship team. Just wondering if this is still bubbling in the background...

I guess it's still in the pipeworks, but all Keys and Gray are saying isn't origional info, even BBC put a page up and their shite. SKY ran it too. Unless we go in with a reasonable bid this won't happen If one does go though I still don't think he will drop down, and a 'Wigan' team will probably close in. Or, this could be a huge smokescreen from Sven to divert eyes away from his master plan. You carnt say being a Leicester fan isn't fun!
Burmesefox Posted 19 August 2011 Posted 19 August 2011 skt ran an article today quoting Bill Kenwright as saying they have no money and will have to sell in order to buy. Quick everyone cling to that faintest of chances????
Adster Posted 19 August 2011 Posted 19 August 2011 StringerSport Ian Stringer Also, David Moyes has confirmed #lcfc placed a bid of £2m for Jermaine Beckford. You'll hear from him in the 5.30pm on 104.9fm
kingfox Posted 19 August 2011 Posted 19 August 2011 £2m that's insulting, that is a very very very poor offer. Bid more Sven, not rocket science.
leicesterthroughandthrough Posted 19 August 2011 Posted 19 August 2011 I thought he bid more the other day?
