MGLCFC Posted 17 August 2011 Posted 17 August 2011 Connolly is like Kevin Phillips - he's got a natural eye for goal and instinctively gets in the right place at the right time. He was loved by City fans for the short time he was with us and always looked like he could score.

I think if you can score a few in the opening games you will go on and score a hat full over a season. I always said if nugent started the season well he could be our 20 goal man but he's been very unlucky up to now. Jobyfox Posted 17 August 2011 Posted 17 August 2011 As long as there isn't an echo on the Maynard threads - I don't think I could go through all that shit twice! As long as there isn't an echo on the Maynard threads - I don't think I could go through all that shit twice!

Kent Posted 17 August 2011 Posted 17 August 2011 What would you be doing by now if you hadn't just wasted your time reading this not only the first time, but then the second as well. Bad jokes for bad sense of humour! We should get Fred Elliott in this thread. I said, I said.... Ok let's not go there! Has Beckford signed yet?
Bettsy82 Posted 17 August 2011 Posted 17 August 2011 Does anybody think that this whole beckford story will result in him being sold regardless of wether he wants to stay or not. Wether it's to us or not remains to be seen but I think they've identified him as the player who has to go to raise desperate funds.

Libertine Posted 17 August 2011 Posted 17 August 2011 Nail On Head I'm pretty sure Beckford could sue if they tried that.

Sloanfox Posted 17 August 2011 Posted 17 August 2011 You know, i spoke to Sir Peter Soulsby (Mayor of Leicester) yesterday and he summed people up from Leicester, 'the Leicester public are never satisfied, we just love to moan' and it's very true, a majority of city fans are so negative, we bought players in the summer and because we have one bad game we are scrutinising them already, yes it was a bad perfomance but jeez lay off the lads and get behind your team instead of broadcasting that we got aload of nobody's and cast offs!! We will get a striker who ever it may be, it might be we may have to bide our time and get something in January, but it isn't for the want of trying or ambition that we haven't landed a striker. Come on, City fans lets atleast try to enjoy positive things happening at the club rather than digging out the negatives!

I can't see much negative about the moaning - much of it was about using more attackers and scoring more goals! So, seeing as that's the basic philosophy of football, I can't see Soulsby's point.
botty Posted 17 August 2011 Posted 17 August 2011 I think sven knows who he want's/likely to get he's just doin a redknapp and waitin till the end of the transfer window i mean look at redknapp he waited till the end of lasr summer and got van der vaart for 7m bargain. All we have to do as city fans is be happy with what we got now for the next 2 weeks and we'll a signing we all want/need simples!

m00nie Posted 17 August 2011 Posted 17 August 2011 Foce him out, agree to sell him no player would wanna stay at a club that did that. they cant force anyone.. he could simply say he wants to stay and fight for his place.. or could be happy to sit in the reserves doing nothing yet get paid full wages..
