Legend_in_blue Posted 18 August 2011 Posted 18 August 2011 He's defensively sound but limited elsewhere. Everybody should be in agreement with this. He's not done too badly so far.
Burmesefox Posted 18 August 2011 Posted 18 August 2011 Seriously mate? See my post on not606 about him earlier. I like him I think he has settled in well and I like his pairing with Mills (Sven was far too quick to axe Mills - he'll need 4/5 league games to settle in 0- anyone remember when Walsh started?) Anyway, Knoch had a decent game. As he tired (both physically and maybe mentally of his team mates) he let passes go astray but he got more forward than Peltier andwas constantly overlapping Gally and teh midfield. He's a good player no doubt and I would have him straight on teh team sheet Kasper Pantsil/Pelts Mills Bamba Konch Fernandez Wellens Vassell Gallagher Nugent Howard Subs: Weale The Ledge Abe Dyer (deffoe bring him on for impact for Vass) Ball (if fit) that way Gally or Vass could go up front? I have always slated Howard but we need a big target man at the moment as Huge cant do it all on his own - so I may have to accept defeat on this.
Bellend Sebastian Posted 18 August 2011 Posted 18 August 2011 I thought he was alright but there didn't seem much of an understanding with his team mates but you could say that about most of them, and surely that'll get better with time
GianEmmo Zola Posted 18 August 2011 Posted 18 August 2011 Steady full back nothing more nothing less. Better defensively than going forward. But a good acquisition
m4DD0gg Posted 18 August 2011 Posted 18 August 2011 He was well out of his depth at Liverpool but is certainly one of the better performers so far this season. Glad we have signed some one of his calibre compared to the dross of the past few years or would you prefer Robbie Neilson?
The Doctor Posted 18 August 2011 Posted 18 August 2011 Thought he played well first half, then the same mistakes and doubt seemed to set in to him too. Could be I noticed them more because every single one was punctuated with "KONCHESKY'S SHIT... GOD HE'S SHIT" by the [loyal supporter who has a right to air his views because he bought a ticket] in front of me. fat bloke in the light blue hoodie? That bloke was an utter ****. Anyway I can't see how you can make a judgement on any player after 3/4 games. He hasn't been any worse than anyone else either.
Burmesefox Posted 18 August 2011 Posted 18 August 2011 he may have been over hitting long balls but they may have been because two of our front three were actually entrenched in midfield as we play 4 5 1 and not 4 3 3. Our midfield was over crowded and everyone was tripping over each other.
Brainy Posted 18 August 2011 Posted 18 August 2011 Were you at any of the games this season? Paul Konchesky has been one of the better performers out of the whole bunch of new signings this season. I love the guy and he hasn't put much of a foot wrong. So yeah, it is just you. Who made you the fans spokesperson?
bluesbrothers Posted 18 August 2011 Posted 18 August 2011 Solid defensive qualities, but in an attacking sense he has been poor, but I don't think that was his trait from begin with!! Left back has never been a strong point for our attacking prowess, it's always been Right Back that has shone. Berner netted a few but on the whole Konchesky is an improvement in his tracking back abilities. On the subject of right back, I think Peltier is first choice for sure. Paintsil is debatably the more solid defender, but Lee offers more going forward. And the long throw, which is bound to work eventually... Final point - Nugent is a credit to professional football, feel for the bloke, doing what he can with shite service and thoroughly deserved his goal last night.
Adster Posted 18 August 2011 Posted 18 August 2011 Who made you the fans spokesperson? What are you on about? I'm just speaking my views, as Joe did. It's what a forum is all about.

I'd like to see him win a few more headers though
Corky Posted 18 August 2011 Posted 18 August 2011 I think he's been solid on the whole, not spectacular going forward but seems to be able to defend quite well.

cc_star Posted 18 August 2011 Posted 18 August 2011 Solid defensive qualities, but in an attacking sense he has been poor, but I don't think that was his trait from begin with!! Nope, he's more of a long floated ball from the halfway line rather than an overlapping fast player like Cunningham/PVA Along with Mill's hoofball it marks quite a change from last season, perhaps Howard should play
Joethemightyone Posted 18 August 2011 Author Posted 18 August 2011 The way we are playing Howard would probably excel. That is more of a bad thing than a compliment to Steve!!
Raj Posted 18 August 2011 Posted 18 August 2011 Is he any better than the shit we had before him? Is he worth the ££ we paid? Is he the next generation who will take us to the promised land and do a job there? Im off to bed.....
Brainy Posted 18 August 2011 Posted 18 August 2011 Is it me or has anybody else noticed Paul Konchesky getting progressively worse each game? blablabla So yeah, it is just you. What are you on about? thats what, but ok.
Jollie Posted 18 August 2011 Posted 18 August 2011 "This forum is like 1940's Germany. " I think not somehow...
Jace Posted 18 August 2011 Posted 18 August 2011 I remember konchesky making 1 bad pass last night other than that I thought he had a good performance
Jollie Posted 18 August 2011 Posted 18 August 2011 I remember konchesky making 1 bad pass last night other than that I thought he had a good performance i agree...no need to listen to the Liverpool fans he did his job.
broughtonblue Posted 18 August 2011 Posted 18 August 2011 Decent game far me last night, unlike one particular player who seemed to spend all his time trying to hide behind their players so he couldn't be passed to, till he was substituted.
Joethemightyone Posted 18 August 2011 Author Posted 18 August 2011 Decent game far me last night, unlike one particular player who seemed to spend all his time trying to hide behind their players so he couldn't be passed to, till he was substituted. Lloyd Dyer? He is useless too!
broughtonblue Posted 18 August 2011 Posted 18 August 2011 Lloyd Dyer? He is useless too! Exactly, he was really winding me up last night. Didn't show for the ball and for much of the time he was on the pitch was a total waste. Although I will probably get slagged off now as he seems 'untouchable' on here. Shame the same can't be said about him on the pitch!
fox in the sox Posted 18 August 2011 Posted 18 August 2011 There have been a lot worse this season so why pick him out?
