Tricky Tree Posted 19 August 2011 Author Posted 19 August 2011 Nice one lads at least you can all take some banter.
purpleronnie Posted 19 August 2011 Posted 19 August 2011 Its astonishing the change of feeling for a lot of folks on here. Start of the season the majority thought we'd finish 1st or 2nd now barely anyone predicts us to do well. Maybe next season people should compare sides rather than believing hype from elsewhere. Now that being said we'll probably win 3-0.

I will be very surprised if we finish in the top two now.
Salieri Posted 19 August 2011 Posted 19 August 2011 Nice one lads at least you can all take some banter. I'm personally surprised that nobody has thrown their toys out of the pram yet. If and when we lose, post match will be a totally different story.
psychonaut Posted 19 August 2011 Posted 19 August 2011 If you are half decent you should beat us. The side we are bringing isnt as good as the one you beat 3-2 last season, however it does have a better keeper this time. Yeah and we have spent £10 million! Our starting 11 actually isnt as strong! What's the point in having depth if the starting 11 isnt improved! (maybe a couple of positions, but we have substituted defense for attack)
ozleicester Posted 19 August 2011 Posted 19 August 2011 Its all part of Sven's master plan. Our expectations were too high, he sorted the team to play appallingly to settle the fans and team down. Tomorrows game will is the beginning of our run toward the premier league. A 4-1 thrashing of the red scum will be laughed at for years to come as our assault not only on the premier league, but in coming seasons as premier league champions and then a few short steps to our ultimate goal of champions league domination. In :sge: we trust
MPH Posted 19 August 2011 Posted 19 August 2011 In all honesty. We have played poorly. Very. It would be so typical of us to go play a Stormer, win 4-0... then lose to the bottom team the week after.
LJS Posted 19 August 2011 Posted 19 August 2011 Based on the two matches I've seen we can expect a disjointed performance typified by our side sitting deep and our attacking players standing still once we get to about thirty yards away from the Forest goal. When the patient passing doesn't produce a goal the players will try lumping it over Nugent's head in the hope that a Forest defender will make an almighty cock up resulting in a City goal. Cynicism aside, sitting deep as we have in the past couple of matches will probably be better suited to an away fixture, particularly against a Forest side which has created little so far this term. If I had to make a prediction I'd go for 0-0 or 1-0 either way.
Merchant Posted 19 August 2011 Posted 19 August 2011 It would be so typical of us to go play a Stormer, win 4-0... then lose to the bottom team the week after. It would be pretty special to lose to the bottom team seeing as our next game is against Southampton In response, on Saturday I'd expect that by 16:45 you'll have misplaced that loving feeling.

Guest Col city fan Posted 19 August 2011 Posted 19 August 2011 Fookin hell! And I'VE been accused on here of being negative!!!!! By the way, where are 'the Sven revolution' and 'in Sven we trust' at the moment? Conspicuous by their absence?.....
MC Prussian Posted 19 August 2011 Posted 19 August 2011 3-0 Forest. We might as well not show up and lose the game forfeit with the same scoreline.

Conspicuous by their absence?..... I'm still here. I may not have gone overboard with we're gonna win the league etc and equally i'm not about to give up and write us off after THREE games. There's far too many on here who just bounce about from one extreme to another, week to week.
Callabinho Posted 19 August 2011 Posted 19 August 2011 From favourites to win the league to this, myself included! But I don't think I have seen us this pessimistic not even heading into Norwich (Sousa's last day)!!

There's far too many on here who just bounce about from one extreme to another, week to week. You're views are usually well balanced... There is an amazing amount of hypocrisy on here... Yes we are low in confidence, but so are they.. We have mixed opinions about our manager... And so do they! Therefore we have as much chance of winning this game as they do.. A month ago this thread would have been full of crazy optimism... Now it's like a fookin morgue!! Hehe
Salieri Posted 19 August 2011 Posted 19 August 2011 From favourites to win the league to this, myself included! But I don't think I have seen us this pessimistic not even heading into Norwich (Sousa's last day)!! That's down to expectations, pure and simple. The money spent has generated the assumption that we should win every game and get promoted at a canter. In reality it doesn't work like that, it has been disappointing in the last couple of games yes, but the people writing the season off and calling for the managers head so early on are muppets. See where we are after about the halfway point (another TWENTY games) before any serious judgements can be made.
J.Lisemore Posted 19 August 2011 Posted 19 August 2011 We might as well not show up and lose the game forfeit with the same scoreline. Might well be a good idea! I'd love to think we will at least score tomorrow, but I just can't see it.

But Pre Bristol there was real anxiety! Our fans are like a massive pendulum! Pre season the monday phone in "we've got a great team Ian! Real impressed with who we have signed" to "there useless youngy! No structure and the formation doesn't work" I believe that a top 6 finish is achievable but I wasn't convinced that we would get top two! I must admit I am Disappointed with how we have started but with football you have to accept you will get rough patches and smooth patches, who ever thinks we would breeze the league is deluded.

This forum was a fucking embarrassment Wednesday night (and beyond). Until people can differentiate between disappointment/constructive criticism and complete kneejerk the world is about to end sack sven we're fucked going down hysterical dribbling shit I know i'll start another thread, then it's gonna be a very long season.
stix Posted 19 August 2011 Posted 19 August 2011 I think we can expect few to no boos tomorrow, fantastic away support, and a much more confident performance on the pitch. the majority of the boo boys wont be there tomorrow, we are still unbeaten on the road this campaign. 3-1 City and a MUCH happier foxestalk.

I do agree that we'll probably do better on the road at the moment - there's far less pressure on the players. Plus it is a local derby, so, like they say, you can throw the form book out the window. And set it on fire. And piss on it. If you like. I'd be happy with a draw, to be honest, considering our recent performances and our record at the shitty ground. A win would be unbelievably great. Probably the biggest confidence boost we could get from one single league match. Let's hope you're right!
Tricky Tree Posted 20 August 2011 Author Posted 20 August 2011 I think you boys will put on more of a show than the majority reckon. For me if we score early on I reckon that will do us. Ain't gonna be easy for us we have had s similar Start to you boys however it has been our best start in 5 years which tells it's own story p3 w1 d1 l1 !
LCFC OK Posted 20 August 2011 Posted 20 August 2011 When the red red Robin goes bob bob bobbing along, shoot the bastard shoot the bastard shoot shoot shoot the bastard. UTF
VinceNoir Posted 20 August 2011 Posted 20 August 2011 We tend to play better when we are not considered big favourites, like we were against Bristol City on wednesday, so I'm reasonably confident of a good performance today. Whether we turn that good performance into a good result is another matter.
