Guest Basildon Fox Posted 23 August 2011 Posted 23 August 2011 Own Up!! Who voted Steve Mclaren and why if it was not a piss take?
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 23 August 2011 Posted 23 August 2011 I'd love to see us go all out for Guus Hiddink but it'll never, ever happen. No one wants the media intrusion and the pressure that comes with being England boss.
Guest ttfn Posted 23 August 2011 Posted 23 August 2011 Hodgson is the stand out candidate. There are no other English managers with experience of managing big names and managing internationally. I can't believe that Hodgson's international experience isn't taken more seriously in such decisions.

I don't think there are any English managers of sufficient quality to be successful in the job. It's time we faced up to that.

His career in management has been absolutely outstanding.

But at least Hodgson does have some experience of managing countries. Agree with MTWG, Hiddink is a great shout.
somebum Posted 24 August 2011 Posted 24 August 2011 How the hell did that twat Benitez get in your list?
Leicesterpool Posted 24 August 2011 Author Posted 24 August 2011 How the hell did that twat Benitez get in your list? Won the champions league with Liverpool, go them to a final in 2007, won the fa cup in 2006, finished runners up of the premier league in 2009.
ramboacdc Posted 24 August 2011 Posted 24 August 2011 hodgson. hate redknapp and hate his style of play. hodgson can get the best out of any team in the world....as long as they aint wearing a red shirt.

Redknapp would only pick southern players you wouldn't see anybody north of Watford in the team.
AyewJoking Posted 24 August 2011 Posted 24 August 2011 Redknapp would soon be found out IMO. Mourinho would get results which is all the FA care about.
AyewJoking Posted 24 August 2011 Posted 24 August 2011 Just noticed Mclaren got two votes, piss takers surely?
Jaspa Posted 6 October 2011 Posted 6 October 2011 Just seen on todays BBC gossip page, that Sven would have Wenger over Arreh. Don't see it happening, but I think it would improve our tactical play, and setup vastly.
Tielemans63 Posted 6 October 2011 Posted 6 October 2011 Mourinho if we could get him. He's the only one who would have the unanimous respect of the players, with the exception possibly of Guus Hiddink. I'm really unsure about Harry Redknapp. It'd be great to have an English England manager but he's only managed for 1 season at the highest level.
FoxyPV Posted 6 October 2011 Posted 6 October 2011 Preferrably someone shit, with little or no tactical knowledge and a desire to hold on to the old guard.
The Doctor Posted 6 October 2011 Posted 6 October 2011 Preferrably someone shit, with little or no tactical knowledge and a desire to hold on to the old guard. Or a scot/paddy/welshman with an axe to grind.
THFC6061 Posted 7 October 2011 Posted 7 October 2011 I'd far rather Harry didn't get the England job. One of Tottenham Hotspur's biggest problems in recent years was that we've never had a manager at the club for any considerable length of time. In fact, next month Harry is set to become our longest serving manager during the Premier League Era, surpassing the 119 matches Gerry Francis was in charge for. Another few years with Harry at the helm can only be good for the club, as he's already our most successful manager, statistically speaking, since Spurs joined the Football League back in 1908... Guest ttfn Posted 7 October 2011 Posted 7 October 2011 Not Harry Redknapp. Any other professional football manager would do nicely. Preferably Roy Hodgson.
Corky Posted 7 October 2011 Posted 7 October 2011 I wouldn't want that, because it would mean England fail.
Ric Flair Posted 7 October 2011 Posted 7 October 2011 Wenger for me, his time is up at Arsenal and I think he'd do well for us.
Super_horns Posted 7 October 2011 Posted 7 October 2011 Wenger for me, his time is up at Arsenal and I think he'd do well for us. Hello Sven..nice of you to mix with your fans. Probably be Redknapp...the press love him and he's English. Get the passion intot he players its claimed. The suggestion t they don't have any when playing for England is a worry....
Corky Posted 7 October 2011 Posted 7 October 2011 Hello Sven..nice of you to mix with your fans. Robbie Savage said the same on 5 Live tonight.
DB11 Posted 8 October 2011 Posted 8 October 2011 I like Redknapp being in the Prem so interviews every week, so I wouldn't want him to go to England.
accessory Posted 8 October 2011 Posted 8 October 2011 Wenger for me, his time is up at Arsenal and I think he'd do well for us. There's no way English fans or the media would tolerate a Frenchman in this job - let alone someone in decline like Wenger. Even if he would do a better job than Redknapp, Hodgson or any of the other English contenders.
