Thats not actually that bad though, USA and Mexico usually reach the quarter finals of the World Cup so I have no problem with them being top ten. They ddint last year as the US got cheated by Ghana and Mexico had to meet Argentina (plus Sven had destroyed Mexico's ranking 2 years before)..... Everyone in the world knows Spain are the best side by a mile so why are they 2? How can they conclude 2 draws v Switzerland and Ghana overtakes a teams that wins the Copa America in our case? No scoring system can justify this.

The ridiculous part is that England haven't played in July, yet they got more points than Uruguay did, who as you pointed out won their match against Paraguay. Netherlands being top I can somewhat live with. They got to the WC final and won all their WC 2010 qualification matches and all their EC 2012 qualification matches so far. They've not lost any match in regular time since Australia beat them in a friendly in September 2008. Norway being 12th and top seeded for the recent WC 2014 qualification draw bugs me a lot though. It HAS to be their admittedly fine friendly (but ultimately pointless) results that have gotten them there. They've ultimately failed to qualify for any major tournament since 2000, despite being in probably the weakest grou (also in FIFA ranking terms) in their latest campaign. It beggars belief how e.g. Mexico (Gold Cup winners) and Paraguay (Copa America finalists) are below them.

Maybe because 4 years ago they had a really good month or we had a really bad one, which has now fallen out of the 4 year period lowering theirs/improving ours? Just a guess. Wales below Haiti

After looking at the amount of points awarded to Uruguay over the last month, the only conclusion I can come to is that Uruguay have not yet been awarded the points for the Copa America. Edit: Actually, in 2010, Holland got more points during the summer than Spain did, so Benji's point may be correct.
