lavrentis Posted 6 September 2011 Posted 6 September 2011 I barely understand Capello god knows what the players see his tactics as, I wonder if it's Psyco who talks to the players before and at half time
Finnegan Posted 6 September 2011 Posted 6 September 2011 My experience as a former semi-professional swimmer has taught me many things in life. As a result, I'm highly qualified to point out that Nigel Pearson is an excellent young manager with a promising track record and, already, a league title under his belt.
Toffee_Fox Posted 6 September 2011 Posted 6 September 2011 Judging by peoples reactions on twitter and such, I'm glad I don't waste time watching England.
Thracian Posted 6 September 2011 Posted 6 September 2011 Is it bad I wanted Kingy to equalise? Me too. He did put in Earnshaw for the glimmer of a chance and there was only one team trying to play football in the end.

You sound over-qualified if anything.
Bert Posted 6 September 2011 Author Posted 6 September 2011 People are saying England were negative, is it only me that thinks Wales were better which is why we looked guff?
Finnegan Posted 6 September 2011 Posted 6 September 2011 People are saying England were negative, is it only me that thinks Wales were better which is why we looked guff? Whilst we'll take the compliment, I think it's pretty obvious that - given the players on the pitch - if England truly went for it and wanted it, they could play us off the park. Ramsey is going to be world class, he really is, as is Bale. But short of that we don't have the sort of personnel that should be able to resist Rooney, Lampard, Young, Milner and co' on good form. You seem to suffer from nerves when you play at Wembley, you played us off the park extremely comfortably at the Millenium Stadium.
BlueSi13 Posted 6 September 2011 Posted 6 September 2011 England's Wembley woes continue. Wales were easily the better side. Looks as if England will win the the easiest group of all whilst never looking like a team thats anything more than tediously mediocre. I personally miss the days of Venables and Hoddle where England at least played like England and gave us cracking games to watch
John Matrix Posted 6 September 2011 Posted 6 September 2011 is it wrong that i was the only one clapping in the pub when kingy appeared onscreen. i realise it's an international but we were one nil up (looking edgy, mind) but seriously, a pub in Leicester an no1 is clapping a Leicester player?!
Corky Posted 6 September 2011 Posted 6 September 2011 I clapped him on. Didn't want him to score but it's nice to see our club represented at international level.
ScouseFox Posted 6 September 2011 Posted 6 September 2011 Meh, didn't go as well as it should have. A win's a win.
Freeman's Wharfer Posted 6 September 2011 Posted 6 September 2011 As usual watching England proves a complete waste of an evening. Capello is a regular at the restaurant where my son cooks and if he was served the sort of shit he cooked up for football tonight he'd soon be complaining. Everything he does reminds me so much of Pearson. He's just functional and forgets the fact that people have paid good money to watch some football. Ah well, I'll know better than to bother watching them again As for Wales well, Earnshaw won't get an easier chance and you really don't deserve anything if you waste em. for all that I finished up hoping Wales would score, if only to punish England for the sort of negativity that has become the blight of football as a spectacle. Regarding your comparison with Pearson, what a load of rubbish. Really pisses me off when people speak as if we played crap football under Pearson. Yes, we play better football under Sven. But guess what? Sven has got more money, to buy better players who can play better football. Pearson took hold of this club in turmoil and with limited resources got us winning matches and, for the first time in a long, long time, gave us a team we could be proud of. He did the best with what he had and that best was superb. Take a look at some of the goals from our League One season and even in the Championship, this was not Megson-esque football. It was organised and hard-working in the first instance to keep things tight so that we could play our football in the right areas and when we had the dominance over our opponents. I paid good money to watch the football when he was in charge and I got some of the best value since the MON era.
J.Lisemore Posted 6 September 2011 Posted 6 September 2011 I for one was hoping Wales were going to score near the end, England don't appeal to me whatesoever.
I am Rod Hull Posted 6 September 2011 Posted 6 September 2011 I for one was hoping Wales were going to score near the end, England don't appeal to me whatesoever. I was with you on that one...

BlueSi13 Posted 6 September 2011 Posted 6 September 2011 Tragic, all of those arrested were fellow Wales supporters with it believed to be a Cardiff City-Swansea City altercation. Nobody should die over a game of ****ing football. RIP.
