Dell13 Posted 28 September 2011 Posted 28 September 2011 Would just like to say how excellent i think Big Steve's attitude has been. Not moaned once about not playing. He could still do a job for us especially with Kaspers kicks. He could easily go out on loan to another championship club/league 1 club and walk into some teams. Hope he stays on and becomes a coach! STEVIE HOWARD LEICESTERS NUMBER 9.
Dell13 Posted 28 September 2011 Author Posted 28 September 2011 Nope, but he could have come out to the media etc....
Corky Posted 28 September 2011 Posted 28 September 2011 Nice. I thought this was going to be another thread asking where a player was having been criticised virtually every week when he played.
Walshy5 Posted 28 September 2011 Posted 28 September 2011 Id start him with schlupp on saturday if beckfords not fit. I think his knock downs and schlupps pace could cause the sheep problems! Cant ever see sven doing it though because theres no way he,ll drop his bum boy vassell

Cant ever see sven doing it though because theres no way he,ll drop his bum boy vassell Sven's love of Vassell began with Darius volleying in a superb goal for England against Holland many years ago. Sven remembers it like it was yesterday.
m00nie Posted 28 September 2011 Posted 28 September 2011 hi mrs howard.. tell your steve thanks for his service but time he moved on....
Dilkes Posted 28 September 2011 Posted 28 September 2011 Finally someone makes some sense Super Stevey Howard!

Tielemans63 Posted 28 September 2011 Posted 28 September 2011 Still think Stevie should be used more regularly as a substitute. He offers a physical and an aerial threat that none of our other strikers do.
LCFC BEAST Posted 28 September 2011 Posted 28 September 2011 Mind you if Sven really wanted to play Vassell he could revert back to his chuff billy 4-3-3 formation with Schlupp and Vassell either side of Howard, but I agree giving Vassell a rest and playing Howard and Schlupp up top. Seems like a partnership which could work well for us I think if we're ever in trouble!
Freeman's Wharfer Posted 28 September 2011 Posted 28 September 2011 Same goes for Berner, Oakley and Moussa to some extent. They're all paid to be professionals and to be moaning in the press etc. would be contrary to this so I don't see why they should be given any special credit for not doing so. They're all sensible enough as experienced professionals to know that with so much money having been spent this summer after playing bit-parts last season that the likelihood was that they would be in this situation. I don't see why anyone would hope that Howard would become a coach either. Yes the guy's got experience but let's face it he's a footballer that has made a career for himself more out of hard work and his physique than any exceptional talent (credit for that however). Had this been said about Berner I would probably feel different. He's been treated far worse than Howard but has always remained a dignified, articulate professional, one that has played to international and top European level. I think he'd offer far more as a coach than Steve Howard.
Fox92 Posted 29 September 2011 Posted 29 September 2011 I wish Howard would at least make the bench. He offers something that the other strikers cannot offer; an ariel threat. Sometimes we need Howard to get in the face of the opposition defence, and he will always make an effort. If the delivery is good as well, he will nick a goal or two - ask the Derby fans.
Corky Posted 29 September 2011 Posted 29 September 2011 The reduction in substitutes hasn't helped Howard. Sven will only put one striker on the bench, whereas with seven he may add another.

IMO the best player at the club that Sven refuses to play.... and he's said he loves the club and wants to go nowhere. Exemplary attitude so far, or so it would appear
5waller5 Posted 29 September 2011 Posted 29 September 2011 Steve should definitely be making the subs bench week in, week out .... For Aldershot.
Thracian Posted 29 September 2011 Posted 29 September 2011 Sven's love of Vassell began with Darius volleying in a superb goal for England against Holland many years ago. Sven remembers it like it was yesterday. That reminds me ... did King Harald ever have any luck in stopping the tide?

KFS Posted 29 September 2011 Posted 29 September 2011 Maybe I'm just in a good mood, but some of the comments in here are making me laugh so hard!
cornish fox Posted 29 September 2011 Posted 29 September 2011 That reminds me ... did King Harald ever have any luck in stopping the tide? Thracian, I think all things considered you are in my top 5 favourite posters on here (although there are an awful lot of very good posters I must say) but you've let yourself down here. You know it's not Harald that did that. Canute sir?
Freeman's Wharfer Posted 30 September 2011 Posted 30 September 2011 Please tell me that's some sort of sick joke. I think he's saying he's the best of the players Sven isn't picking much i.e. Berner, Oakley, Moussa, Howard. Not that Dyer is our best player. I would hope that's the case anyhow
