Happy Fox Posted 29 September 2011 Author Posted 29 September 2011 http://www.thisisleicestershire.co.uk/story-13427974-detail/story.html? Matt Mills looking forward to Derby clash Summer arrival Mills, one of 12 new players signed by manager Sven-Goran Eriksson during the close season, has already experienced an East Midlands derby away from the King Power when City drew at Nottingham Forest last month. Saturday's visit of Nigel Clough's Derby County, however, will be the first time he and his new team-mates have had home advantage against a bitter rival. Mills admits it will be a new experience for some of the City side, but said they had all experienced a derby atmosphere at other clubs and knew how important the game was for the fans. The Rams have started the season in good form and are above City in the table going into Saturday's tea-time clash, but Mills pointed out they had already taken the unbeaten records of Southampton and Brighton on home soil. "Everyone here wants to play every game, regardless of who it is against, but yes, Derby will be a big game for everyone at the club, especially the fans," says Mills in his captain's column in Saturday's official match day magazine. "They've had a very good start to the season, perhaps surprising a few people, and come here above us in the table so it's another chance for us to test ourselves. "I have never played in a Leicester-Derby game before, nor will a lot of the lads, but every club has a big rivalry and they will have experienced a derby atmosphere before. "I've been involved in Southampton squads for games against Portsmouth and you know what's at stake. "When you've been involved in the heat of that environment, you know what derby games mean to supporters. "I'm sure the atmosphere will be fantastic."
Larry_LCFC Posted 29 September 2011 Posted 29 September 2011 "I'm sure the atmosphere will be fantastic." lol God he's going to be disappointed!
FoxyPV Posted 29 September 2011 Posted 29 September 2011 Porr Matt, he thinks it's going to be like this
Corky Posted 29 September 2011 Posted 29 September 2011 I fancy a 4-0, in the last 15 minutes this time Seroiously, it will probably be tight. 2-1 win.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 29 September 2011 Posted 29 September 2011 Like tea time kick offs, tgink we will win too. Hopefully the team remains the same, maybe Nugent in if it. Attendance: 24,650

I went in to the ticket office yesturday, and we have only sold 20,000 the bloke said there expecting not much over 21000, if that's the case that's dreadful on our behalf!! Sky or not, maybe the high priced tickets are to much for some Your on about Derbys shit support!! Their support is shit, don't know why you're trying to argue with that.
Kitchandro Posted 29 September 2011 Posted 29 September 2011 lol God he's going to be disappointed! It was great against them last season.
Larry_LCFC Posted 29 September 2011 Posted 29 September 2011 It was great against them last season. Derby at home last season is a blank in my mind I really cant remember what happened or what the atmosphere was like. Deffo buzzing for this one though!

I think it's safe to say that most of us are scraping by with the insane cost of living, especially withthe price of petrol etc. I can totally see why people would stop going to football games. Anyway, I'm going for another 0-0, just a bad feeling.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 29 September 2011 Posted 29 September 2011 And guess what....Howard Webb is the ref. Another shit referee performance then. Why is it always Premier refs hen we're on Sky most of the time?
Corky Posted 29 September 2011 Posted 29 September 2011 And guess what....Howard Webb is the ref. Another shit referee performance then. Why is it always Premier refs hen we're on Sky most of the time? Interesting choice.
Fox92 Posted 29 September 2011 Posted 29 September 2011 And guess what....Howard Webb is the ref. Another shit referee performance then. Why is it always Premier refs hen we're on Sky most of the time? He was referee when we played Derby before at home, when Fryatt scored I think around 2006 time, and he was poor. Not really a fan of Premier League referees coming down to ref because some of them seem to want the limelight, but hopefully his performance will be better by some that we have seen this season. If the game wasn't on tv, we would have had a Championship referee.
Corky Posted 29 September 2011 Posted 29 September 2011 I'd like Stuart Attwell back again, after that famous night at Ipswich. I love reunions.
Manwell Pablo Posted 29 September 2011 Posted 29 September 2011 Must win fro Sven, knives will be sharpening should we lose!
Tinman Posted 29 September 2011 Posted 29 September 2011 Must win fro Sven, knives will be sharpening should we lose! Yep,pressure is on you lot.
I am Rod Hull Posted 29 September 2011 Posted 29 September 2011 Yep,pressure is on you lot. Quick question Tinman.. Do you think Derby worthy of their league position ?
yorkie1999 Posted 29 September 2011 Posted 29 September 2011 They get high crowds because they get a free season ticket with a phone contract
Guest Col city fan Posted 29 September 2011 Posted 29 September 2011 Quick question Tinman.. Do you think Derby worthy of their league position ? Dont give a shite about the shaggers... does anyone know anything about the injured players? If Wellens and Johnno are out, a midfield three of Abe, King and Fernandes is looking iffy
Larry_LCFC Posted 29 September 2011 Posted 29 September 2011 Hope beckford is alright. Didnt stringer say it was his hamstring or something?
Leicester Lass Posted 29 September 2011 Posted 29 September 2011 Hope beckford is alright. Didnt stringer say it was his hamstring or something? Mercury says Beckford and Wellens are both groin, Johnson is shoulder.
Guest Col city fan Posted 29 September 2011 Posted 29 September 2011 lol God he's going to be disappointed! Why? what you on about? - the atmos is always good against the shaggers..especially if we score early
