Guest Col city fan Posted 16 October 2011 Posted 16 October 2011 Says one of the biggest Sven haters of all. I'm not at all surprised at this comeback... I have had nothing but praise for our wins but today was shocking. I can simply see the goods and the bads in Svens management and will always say so You won't change that
ithuriel Posted 16 October 2011 Posted 16 October 2011 Nothing like a over reaction on foxestalk is there? Some of our fans make me laugh. A lot of you don't have a clue what your talking about. Over reaction, not really, we we're poor, simple as that.

KFS Posted 16 October 2011 Posted 16 October 2011 Fair result, not going to be on this forum for a while because of the utter tripe that people will write on here. P.s, Marlon King is a class A CVNT
Happy Fox Posted 16 October 2011 Posted 16 October 2011 Oh well as I say it wasn't to be today, the first half was crucial if we got a goal we would have seen out the game but we were far too cautious, and less said about the second half.
Captaincornflake Posted 16 October 2011 Posted 16 October 2011 As angry as I am at the minute, you can't blame the ref for any of this. Hes got both of the big calls right(brum peno and sending off), King peno shout was 50/50.
jamesmilner Posted 16 October 2011 Posted 16 October 2011 13TH could have been 5TH . we put in a 13th placed performance , come on , be honest ! thats why we are so pissed off !
Dr The Singh Posted 16 October 2011 Posted 16 October 2011 Fair result, ref got all the decisions right, other then Kingys nutmeg. City were good in first half but rarely threatened, birmingham came at us in the second and penalty changed the game. Mat Mills, should now better then to do a two foot tackle!! If Sven wants auto promotion slot, we really need to be more threatening away from home, too many draws and lack of goals away from home!

Sven doesn't want an automatic slot, it's the owners that are demanding it they will pull the trigger if results don't improve, but at the moment we do not look like the finished article.
shen Posted 16 October 2011 Posted 16 October 2011 Over reaction, not really, we we're poor, simple as that. Yeah, but thing is, there's no inbetween is there? We were pretty average today. Some fans expect us to win every game, in fact, they probably demand now that we've spent millions and have 'former England manager' Sven at the helm. All sense of realism goes out the window. You pick the bones out of that disgraceful performance then? See what I mean? We lost an even game, and despite being in it with 10 men right until the end, we're "disgraceful". The only disgraceful thing is that overreaction.

Guest Col city fan Posted 16 October 2011 Posted 16 October 2011 gives your reaction then instead of saying some of us don't have a clue This.... Just to come out with a random comment with no attempt at any explanation or analysis just ain't worth it. Ill nail my colours to the flag and simply say that Sven has got to take his head out of his arse and try to WIN games away from home.. I say again, to neither have Lloyd Dyer or Jeff Schlupp even on the bench today smacks of Sven looking for an early goal and then to sit on a lead.. Utterly utterly defensive and yet another boring game to watch on tv
Bugg Posted 16 October 2011 Posted 16 October 2011 Birmingham have a good team, think we're making way too much out of this defeat.
Corky Posted 16 October 2011 Posted 16 October 2011 Not good enough, for the majority defensively we were sound but the midfield offered barely anything and as a result the strikers had so little to feed off. I recalled two decent crosses, one from Wellens and from Pantsil, and Mills went close. It was a shocking game and we deserved what we got. Where was the tempo we showed against Derby?
Jace Posted 16 October 2011 Posted 16 October 2011 think the lesson to be learnt from this match for Sven is we need to be far more offensive away from home this season from the start, we can't sit back play it safe and await the home sides to gift us chances. King playing far too safe for an attacking midfielder first half we deserved nothing today. 1 goal in 4 games away from home is simply not good enough and don't think it's fair to blame Beckford either
Thracian Posted 16 October 2011 Posted 16 October 2011 Our managenent team have been completely out-thought by their opposite numbers. That's the seventh game in 11 League games that we've failed to win this season and really, for what we spent, that's disappointing. But added to the type of football we've played - and prepared to play - away from home, our owners need to think seriously about whether they've got the people to get us up. There were so many things missing from our team today - and from what I'd call a balanced and dangerous side, it was woeful. Comments on here about the bench were spot on. We had no-one to bring on who could disturb their defence as Dyer, Schlupp and Howard might have done. Beckford looked, once again, like a bloke collecting his wages. He's not justified his selection at all so far and was more a hindrance than a help today. Using ordinary full-backs as wingers is a joke. We needed someone to try to get behind Birmingham and the only player we've got is Dyer and he so rarely gets used despite his scoring more goals than Vassell. I couldn't understand why their Chilean winger didn't get sent off - it was a cynical foul after he'd been booked - and the penalty looked harsh especially from one angle. But the referees decisions only deflect from the real problems and the fact that we still don't have the sort balanced team and variable tactical options that will make us genuine winners instead of lottery competitors. Even when we were on top we rarelty threatened to score raining the poorest and most predictable crosses as virtually our only final pass.
The Guvnor Posted 16 October 2011 Posted 16 October 2011 Totally dominated the first half without threating, highlighting how desperate we are for two naturally wide players. No complaints about the sending off, disgraceful challenge by Mills which unfortunately changed the game. Best to forget this one move on and get two wide players in the Jan window.

Utterly utterly defensive and yet another boring game to watch on tv To be fair our defensive approach away from home was alway going to eventually smack us in the ass, it so happened today, oh well lets hope for 6 points from the next two games.

Callabinho Posted 16 October 2011 Posted 16 October 2011 Were not ruthless enough. Beckford clearly is not fit he was Evertons top scorer last season and has bagged over 60 goals in the space of two season at this level before (league 1 granted). So he obviously isn't fit there must be a underlying issue with him. I think we lacked creativity from midfield we kept possession well at time but didn't provide the killer ball, which many may argue Wellens can provide. Today we were just poor no other excuses, time to pick ourselves up, dust ourselves down and move on. No need to get carried away because had mills not got himself sent of it would have been a bore draw.

Hows this for sense... 13th in the division at present.. Are you happy with that? Just be honest and admit that today was a dreadful game of football and we lack adventure away from home.. We were superb against Derby and shit today.. Where's the consistency? Like last season......
phildw Posted 16 October 2011 Posted 16 October 2011 Birmingham were worse than us which is why it makes it so hard to take. We should have been more positive in the first half and really had a go at them instead of looking for that 5th clean sheet. Clean sheets aren't going to win you the league especially when we have a toothless attack to go with it. We engineered our own defeat today not the 2 refs it was city's own doing.

There is no inbetween because we are inconsistent, which we should not be. The owners gave Sven full backing this season to go and get promotion and we really do not look up to it. I've defended Sven in the past, but no longer going to because we really should be doing better. I am really starting to have doubt's now
Captaincornflake Posted 16 October 2011 Posted 16 October 2011 our negative tactics caused this defeat. Birmingham were there for the taking. Very poor side. Unfortunately we seemed happy first half to sit back. Looked like we set out for a draw from the off. It's time we realised we can beat teams with our game away from home, not wait for things to happen. Up the city!
