No disrespect to Dougie, who seems to be doing a fine job at the Palace, but I don't see him as a step up from Sven, which is what we're looking for.

Mate - regardless of what comes of this story. Stick around.

Its good to have another perspective. I like to chat with opposition's fan

thank you Wino. Much appreciated - we all support our own teams and are passionate in support of them so there will always be a bit of dispute between us. As I've said Leicester has a soft spot in my heart due to the good years my daughter had in your city, so I'll always wish you well.

For those a bit confused about the rivalry between us and Brighton - yes, they are a very short run down the M23 and as it goes "Eagles S**T on Seagulls". 1-3 a couple of weeks ago was very nice. You have local derbies, you know how it feels :crylaugh:

We're not friends with Millwall or Charlton either

you have a good squad, and with the right manager you'll go far. I think MON is first class and I hope you get him, but there's others around who'll be attracted by your potential. If you don't go up this year, you'll certainly do so next

When are we away at Palace? Always a good away day

The day after New Years Day sir, which I believe is a Bank Holiday Monday.

Seriously contemplating either this or Brighton a month later.

Does that mean the transport is basically going to be completely fu cked up?

Distinct possibility, though coming from Lincolnshire this is more or less a default setting for me.

You should be fine from Kent. Ya lucky beggar.

A majority of you lot seem arrogant, i think the money has got to your heads. Freedman is too good for your backwards, negative club.

you're right. please keep him.

I listened to the Doog's post match summary after our 0-0 with Reading and he wasn't quite as dismissive about the speculation as I'd like, but he's not the world's most fluent speaker (bit Sir Alex - must be due to being a Scot ...sorry any Scots on here but in spite of the opinion on previous posts Dougie isn't unintelligent, he just doesn't particularly come over very well at interviews)

He did say it was just speculation, and I can't see Steve Parrish who heads CPFC2010 (and who is one very smart cookie) letting him go. Fingers crossed anyway. Be happy to see him managing Scotland, but not another Championship club...

He did say the team didn't have much of a spark today and I wonder if they were affected by the speculation - without doubt Dougie gets them to play collectively much above their individual ability (apart from Wilf, who is a prodigy in anyone's book) and I'm sure they respond to his management. Your lot, on the other hand have a lot of individual ability ...

You'll maybe not appreciate this, but your board might look at how well Dougie has done for us, and the wonders Chris Powell is performing at Charlton and go for a young manager (is it Clark at Huddersfield?) Sometimes fresh ideas are what you need. I'm still hoping for your sake however that there's quiet negotiations behind the scenes with MON. I'd be pleased to see him back in football management.

Although silly chump Eddie Howe turned us down for Burnley. Young managers don't always make wise choices :crylaugh:

Any Palace reading this who went to the Reading game today, did you see our secret agent we sent to spy on Freedman? ;)

People are still talking about DF? I'm pretty sure this was one big wind-up.

Thing is that whoever makes this shit up must be hoping for maximum distraction for City and Palace.

According to this Freedman has become a contender http://www.southlondon-today.co.uk/Sport.cfm?id=40560&headline=Freedman:%20My%20focus%20is%20Palace%20-%20not%20Foxes

IMO one of the brightest up and coming managers, has worked wonders at palace with limited funds, knows this league inside out as player and importantly you have to bear in mind that he would bring Lenny Lawrence who is an old master at getting teams promoted and bringing success http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lennie_Lawrence

Might be a punt but he could just be the next big upcoming Scottish manager who's gonna go far, think Moyes, Coyle, Fergie and Lambert.

I'm more excited by this prospect than Hughes (No champ exp as player or manager), not that much between in and Clark for me.

Before this thread gets closed, I need to know why you'd rather have a manager with less than a season of Championship experience than Hughes with years of experience at Premiership and international levels?

I wouldn't be devastated by getting Hughes but I can't really see what he brings that Sven didn't have.

Championship experience is key and Freedman brings loads as a player and Lenny Lawrence as his assistant brings a wealth of experience as assistant, which is why they are sitting 3rd having spent hardly any cash.

I might be wrong but think is going go onto be big success as a manager.

But hey I wouldn't have got rid of Sven so.

Clark is still trying to get Huddersfield promoted -at the 4th attempt! This despite having a generous transfer budget and a huge wage bill. He also has no experience of managing in the Championship. Without Dean Hoyle's millions Huddersfield would be mid - table at best.

You Leicester lot are a joke. Freedman probably won't do any good for you cos he's Palace through and through and this is his first job and he's doing pretty well! (we're doing better than you this year and he's only spent 1 million)

What the fcuk are you doing sacking your manager on 19 points, you jokers, with those crazy owners there's only trouble ahead for the foxes. They'll pull out and you'll be up the creek sans paddle! Here's hoping anyway.

So is your face!
