Happy Fox Posted 5 November 2011 Author Posted 5 November 2011 Is it safe to assume that MON isn't coming , oh well Pearson is the best option we could have hoped for if MON wasn't going to come

The Year Of The Fox Posted 5 November 2011 Posted 5 November 2011 Yep. Again throw them into our current squad and based on ability not form, how many would make the starting line up. Just to note I've edited the game in hand bit out. They will ahve a game in hand this time tomorrow. Regardless of who we have in our squad, and yes on paper its better, its what happens on the pitch that counts. On paper England should've been back to back World Cup winners three times in a row what with the so called 'golden generation'. We had a better group of individuals last year than say, Norwich (IMO) and who went up? Two points ahead of us, possibly five if we lose tomorrow and they win their game, I know that at the end of the season I'd rather have a worse squad on paper but actually make the playoffs than having the squad that we have but underachieve.

Personally if we were to go up under Pearson, as delighted as I'd be, there'd be that niggling worry as to how he'd handle it once we were there. If he uses his previous style of play with the players we have to hand it would be akin to spending a ton of money of some decent race horses to have them trot to the finish line. Sure they'll get there but it won't be as entertaining and they'll be f**ked when they move up to the next level of races against better horses. I'm not rubbishing NP, he did well for us and is a decent manager, he just doesn't strike me to be the manager to get the most out of what we now have.

Agree with this, but what gripes me so much on here is that everyone says the same. We're not there yet! We're getting way too ahead of ourselves. Its like me getting quotes to insure my Ferrari that I'm going to buy if I win the lottery
Matt Posted 5 November 2011 Posted 5 November 2011 The way I see it is Pearson is leaving it in the Hull owners hands. If you believe what Pearson said when joining Hull, and I for one do because there isn't much honesty left in the game but i'd say Pearson was the minority and is an honest man, he said one of the main factors of leaving was thanks to Milan accept the offer from Hull to speak to him (That along with the feeling that he was being pushed out anyway) and it feeling like he wasn't wanted anymore. So basically Pearson isn't commenting either way because if he says he is staying then we make an offer and Hull accept it he will go, and after he has said he is staying isn't very honest of him (Like I was saying above). However if he says he's interested, doesn't look very good to the Hull owners and fans does it, although if he is genuinly interested in coming back, Fuck the Hull owners and fans! Don't get me wrong he must have an opinion on it and he must know whether he wants to stay or go, but think ultimitely its in Hull's owners hands and whether they have the bottle to turn down X amount of money from us.
renards Posted 5 November 2011 Posted 5 November 2011 Keep seeing the same Pearson story re-jigged, hopefully without foundation The objectives set out when buying the club was to promote King Power both here and in SE Asia. (Remains to be seen what they have planned for retail here) Being in the Prem would obviously do that, being associated with any part of the top six or so world brand clubs would also help. In Thailand all anyone wants to talk to you about is Man Utd. I can't see the club taking on some dull bloke from Hull. Mon and Ole Gunnar Solksjaer were the two names quoted in the Bangkok post for obvious reasons, the likes of Davis, Pearson etc are hardly exiting or news worthy to anyone outside of the East Midlands, be like showing off your new Vauxhall to your mates Massive life coverage on Thai tv for the rest of the season inc Leeds, theyll want an ongoing fanfare
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 5 November 2011 Posted 5 November 2011 Dont get me wrong Pearson isnt the worst choice ive heard but still would prefer MON, or Mark Hughes or Roberto Di Matteo

21st Century Fox Posted 5 November 2011 Posted 5 November 2011 You mean like after we went up with him in L1? No because he'd already managed in the Championship and it's a different kettle of fish.
BMR Posted 5 November 2011 Posted 5 November 2011 Again - have we made an official approach? we might have done, remember neither club has to go public on official approaches.
HoustonFox Posted 5 November 2011 Posted 5 November 2011 No because he'd already managed in the Championship and it's a different kettle of fish. He had a few games as caretaker for WBA and Newcastle. I guess we will find out soon who it will be. Also Lambert and Rodgers seem to be doing ok?
tomtom Posted 5 November 2011 Posted 5 November 2011 Wouldn't they tell Pearson? Yes...but he wouldn't have to go pubic either
whitwickfox Posted 5 November 2011 Posted 5 November 2011 lets all stand up tomorrow on 60 mins and the little shit who is still seated is our new manager...that should stop all the speculation and at least stringer will be happy he hasnt got to interview pearson again
21st Century Fox Posted 5 November 2011 Posted 5 November 2011 He had a few games as caretaker for WBA and Newcastle. I guess we will find out soon who it will be. Also Lambert and Rodgers seem to be doing ok? I not saying he would do badly. I'm just not convinced he has the tactical savvy to handle it, he wasn't exactly known for being adapting play and shaking it up when things weren't exactly going right. Rodgers seems to have more of that ability.

ousefox Posted 5 November 2011 Posted 5 November 2011 On the Hull website he's talking about bringing new players in during the international break...
HoustonFox Posted 5 November 2011 Posted 5 November 2011 Thats the paradox of Foxestalk! Amen brother! Gonna be boring again until Jan once we have our new manager (whoever that is!)
