I'm really not overly enthused by the idea of NP coming back, I went to enough away games whilst he was in charge to be bored to tears at some points. My main worry about NP is the same worry I had when he was here originally, if he gets us up then what? I don't think he's got that je ne sais quoi to be able to pull off a Stoke (not that it'd be ideal anyway) and we'd come crashing back down faster than Derby did during their hallowed season.

I disagree, I think he's exactly the kind of manager that will do OK in the Premiership. He doesn't act like it's all about him for one, and he won't think he can beat good teams at their own game.

He organises sides and plays to their strengths, whilst getting them to play for each other as a hardoworking unit. These are the teams that survive in the Premiership, not dumbass teams like Holloway's Blackpool who try to outplay Man Utd with amazing football then realise they've conceded more than they've scored because they're stupid.

We all want to see Leicester playing attacking and free flowing football, but that's not what necessarily works in the Prem. I think Nigel is suited to a newly promoted team, if he can get us there first.

Derby didn't have the players that we have already, either. They went up too early, if that's possible.

Nigel Pearson is the chalk to Sven-Göran Eriksson’s cheese. Svennis can charm, mesmerise and quietly entice. Nigel is a man of few words, he calls a football boot a football boot but the wry smile denies dourness. Two different sorts of football intelligence. Svennis, a more refined taste, could not, sadly, entice our team to play well consistently. Nige is more basic and on the players’ level (scratchy diagrams on a blackboard to Sven’s velvet powerpoint) and, whilst they respect Svennis, they may find Nige easier to understand with a simpler game plan. In an overhyped, oversimulated, overspectacular and overmonied game, it is refreshing to meet both the gentlemanly, understated but eloquent Svennis and the quietly selfcontained but silently eloquent Nige. Who knows, if he did return our Nige could turn out to be a Zen master, refusing to answer the riddles but solving the puzzles on the field of play and that would be the best advert for King Power worldwide, in a MONless universe.

Maybe with a different set of players but I can't see that being the case with the new faces we've brought in. I can't imagine The Thais are going to be happy with that sort of football and the players it might attract in the Premier League.

I know its too early to be talking about what happens if and when we go up but whoever comes in has to get us promoted so we have to think long term in that respect. I'm not saying we need a tactical genius who can outplay the top teams but we'd need to develop a better style of play other than the grinding, battering ram type approach that Pearson employed last time. He had no Plan B, which was also one of Sven's often mentioned shortcomings. I can't see the team we have now being able to consistently play like we used to and be happy doing that. We have players that seem capable of playing good passing football, we were constantly shown inconsistent flashes of that under Sven. We've spent £3(?) million on Beckford and he certainly isn't the type of player that can play Pearson's way as shown through the first half of the West Ham game. We've cultivated a defence that can actually defend and pass from the back without launching directly upfield.

If NP can come in and show he's got a few other strings to his bow then we're fine and sorted if not I can't see it going to well without some more massive wholesale changes in January. I see your point I'm just concerned with all that we know about NP already he doesn't show the signs to be what we need at this time with our current squad.

Long as he gets us there but he's no prem manager soon as we get there boot him out and bring back sven. Or mon they are prem managers.

I've thought about this too. Celtic must be getting boring now? Lennon would do alright I reckon!

At least here he wouldn't need to worry about the safety of him and his family! no bullets through the post in Leicester i think!

Well, as scribes once said – and I think it was in both the Old Testament and the New Testament – thou wilt judge the manager thereof by his results. Sven the angelic descended and begat Midtable. If there is the second coming of Nige it is what he begats that will be proof of the pudding.

How the f@#k do you know he's not a premier league manager?

He's not had the chance yet!

I love plan B - but the writings on the wall if we appoint Pearson. No room in Pearson's world for Gradel like flair. Just solid, grim football. But hey, winning is winning right?

Big decisions for people to make as #lcfc close in on Sven's replacement. Will Hull accept approach for Pearson? If not will he resign?
