I'm going to throw my 'in the know' hat into the ring. Firstly don't shoot me down, i know as much as most other people on here but thought i would put this on here in case someone else has heard the same.

I have heard from two friends today who know someone who knows someone in the club. (bad start i know, 'a friend of a friend') but both these friends text me within an hour of each other this morning and are unrelated to each other. The first story (or rumour) originated from someone involved directly with the team and who advised said friend to 'get your money on Pearson' when asked who to bet on.

The second story is that we are to make an approach to hull today.

Anyway i guess if there is no approach tonight we can count this as bullshit.

Ok, I'm gonna watch some of the Hull v West Ham game and watch NP's reactions....

Have you got a stream?

Likewise i'd like to see his reaction at FT.

They've just gone 1-0 down to West Ham.

Say what you like as I'm sure you will, but I'm not even going to bother try to debate with such a skewed, stubborn and one sided argument such as yours, it literally serves no purpose but to waste my time.

Yes, I am still bitter, and I will be until we make up for it by getting promoted.

I am not just referring to their penalty, which WASN'T a penalty as Chopra was blatantly offside when the ball was played through to him. I can't believe you do not remember this. I remember thinking just seconds before that we were holding them very well and they looked as if they'd ran out of ideas. That was particularly gut-wrenching.

But I'm also talking about 2 blatant handballs in the first leg for which we should have had 2 penalties. I'm talking about the Whittingham free kick which was taken yards further in than from where the foul was actually committed (and yes that is significant, it went in off the post so fine margins count).

I'm also talking about the second leg where they should have had 2 players sent of in extra time, one where Chopra purposefully kicked Wellens' in the head when he was on the floor, and the other when Berner was running through in the very last minute and was cynically and dangerously hacked at knee height.

It's too often that a supposed world class referee is excused of a terrible, match costing performance just because the game was rightly memorable for being a great spectacle.

Oh my.

I remember chopra being "blatantly offside", the free kick being moved and maybe one questionable handball but that was besides my point as I stated.

You can cling on to these so called errors -which are no doubt from a strongly biased standpoint since you even admitted you were still bitter- but the rest of us have moved on, or at least the majority have.

At the very end, the game came down to penalties, and everything that had happened had been and gone. Mistakes or not our fate was in our hands and we blew it. Accept it.

I just watched back the highlights and it makes me so disappointed at what happened, but it also made me think about how I felt when Kingy nodded in the 3rd. I don't think I've ever been happier or gone more mental when a goal has been scored. And getting this thread back on track, it's these reasons why I want Pearson back.

He took us as close as we have come to the premiership with a team which on paper shouldn't have done as well as it did. He and the players made me the proudest I have ever been as a city fan and our club, not least the Thai's who it would seem may well have played some part in his departure, owes it to the man that he gets a shot to continue where it all ended so painfully.

I know one has been given but one of the joys of living in the US is I get legal HD streams (that I pay for) so can pretty much watch everything on TV or on my iPad. Currently flicking between here, Hull, Arsenal on iPad and Chelsea and Man U on TV.

Hull are crap, NP out!!

If its true you would of though he could of least ground out a 0-0 draw or beat them. Could of been seen as his first game back for us.

Well I agree with all of that, though I don't really know what you're getting at or why you seem at odds with what I'm saying.

I'm not arguing anything against Pearson, in fact I'm using it as a defence. A lot of people seem to resent Pearson somewhat for the play-off loss but I was simply pointing out that we didn't get the rub of the green and it must be remembered that we were the better side in the second leg. It was a gallant defeat and the feeling of pride that night reflected Pearson's whole tenure.

Having the match on tape and having watched it 4 or 5 times since, I still feel a mixure of heartbreak, pride, but also frustration with the officials.

I'll be totally deflated if it is the return of NP. No doubt he did a great job for us League 1 and we probably wouldn't be in this position now if he hadn't turned the team around, but one season of his negative tactics in the Championship was enough for me. It was the momentum of winning League 1 that got us into the playoffs, we looked a mid table side for most of that season and some of the football was dire.

I'm also fearing with the funds available he'll want to bring Fryatt back. :frusty:

He's got Dele Adebola and Matt Fryatt up front, that should put the owners off making a move for him if they had any footballing knowledge.

I personally don't want Pearson, he is better off at Hull instead of our pressure cooker environment, only one man for the job and that is MON

erm im starting to go of the idea of Pearson again, what ppl think about karl robinson.......???

God no to Robinson. No big farewell from NP at the end of th game. Also Rob Green in clean sheet shocker. Hull didn't offer much but they had a go and play the matches with young wingers!!! Not pro or con Big Nige, but if he had the Thai resources it would be interesting...

Wow people moaning about Pearsons style of football... Some people have short memories... Remember Paulo 'I will play sexy football' Sousa and Sven '4-5-1 no plan b' goran-Ericsson. Pearsons football wasnt all that bad at all. I will always remember the Blackpool and QPR away games under him, proper victories.
