gazfox9 Posted 29 October 2011 Posted 29 October 2011 After the way he was shat on, there is no chance whatsoever he'll come back here. I don't know the guy, but he seems ho have strong morals and we're probably about the last club he'd leave Hull to come to.
Tielemans63 Posted 29 October 2011 Posted 29 October 2011 He hasn't got a personality, unless Hull bought him one!! He has to be the dullest human ever! He's never going to get his own slot at Jongleurs admittedly but what I mean is that he's a no nonsense disciplinarian and that is exactly what the squad need IMHO.

Agree completely.. Discipline is needed at the moment.. Not a mr nice guy
ousefox Posted 29 October 2011 Posted 29 October 2011 He should never have been gotten rid of in the first place. Would be my first choice, not sure he'd be Stringer's though!
Guest Basildon Fox Posted 29 October 2011 Posted 29 October 2011 Would be a long way off 2nd choice after MON. I have a feeling he would not take the job even if we offered him 50k per week. Has too much pride and too many principles to come back after the way he was treated. ****ing sad to think who we will end up with. There are only Pearson or MON who would in the main be seen by the fans as a good appointment and I doubt if either will be back. The decision to get rid of Sven looks more ridiculous every day. Whoever takes over is going to have to hit the ground running or I can see 'insert random name' in trouble very quickly. It was embarrassing enough with the Weale chants at Ricardo last season. Imagine what it will be like when half of L1 start chanting Sven's name as soon as we go 1-0 down.
Nick Posted 29 October 2011 Posted 29 October 2011 He's exactly the sort of personality we could do with right now. I'd welcome him back with open arms however I think he'll stay at Hull as he seems a pretty loyal fella. Really?
Bucks fox Posted 29 October 2011 Posted 29 October 2011 Anyone apart from Billy Davies. Sorry, if we don't get promoted and either of the scum teams finish above us then we will be the laughing stock of the East Midlands. Playing total football is lovely to watch, but as Spurs know it doesn't win you much at times apart from the odd cup run and their fans have always demanded this. We need consolidation both on and off the field. Pearson is well thought of, but I can't see what motivation he would have to come back. He can carry on at Hull and everybody will say he is doing a grand job, getting us promoted though and what happens if that doesn't happen may not be appealing to many top managers. Must admit I would just like both players and managers given time to prove themselves rather than the deliver now straight away or else! world we seem to live in now
Happy Fox Posted 29 October 2011 Author Posted 29 October 2011 http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11712/7272730/?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter Skysports.com understands Karl Robinson is a contender for the vacant managerial post at Leicester City. Leicester are searching for a new boss after Sven Goran Eriksson was sacked as manager on Monday following the 3-0 home defeat to Millwall last weekend. A number of names, including former boss Martin O'Neill and Huddersfield's Lee Clark have been linked with the job, but Robinson is thought to figure highly on Leicester's shortlist. Robinson is regarded as one of the brightest young managers around after taking over as MK Dons boss at the age of 29, making him the youngest manager in the Football League in the process. The 31-year-old started coaching at Liverpool's academy before working as a coach at Blackburn under Paul Ince, who he followed to MK Dons. In his first full season in charge he guided MK Dons to the play-offs where they lost to Peterborough and they currently sit seventh in League One after a solid start to the season. MK Dons would be loath to lose Robinson, but the Liverpool-born manager is believed to have his admirers within the corridors of power at the King Power Stadium as they look to bring in a new man.

Nice work there by Robinson's agent.
Raw Dykes Posted 29 October 2011 Posted 29 October 2011 There might be a seniors season ticket going cheap if this happens - or a whole lot of other potential appointments. I'm sick of functional football dished up by people who don't seem to give a shit about exciting the fans. The only aim we have currently is to get into the top tier. That's it. We have to do whatever it takes to achieve that. It's only once we're an established PL club again that we can afford to start thinking about fancy football. Be more realistic. I wouldn't be at all surprised if the next manager we have is fired for not being famous enough for the owners if/when we achieve promotion anyway.
Ozwin Posted 29 October 2011 Posted 29 October 2011 It's embarassing because the owners apparently were the reason he was sacked in the first place because he wasn't a big enough name and they wanted Sousa. Pearson would never come back under this ownershsip, I distinctly remember him talking about how Mandy and Sousa were all talking while he was still manager and he felt it was coming weeks before it did. You treat someone like that and expect them to come back like it was nothing? Yeah, good luck with that.
gazfox9 Posted 29 October 2011 Posted 29 October 2011 I don't think many 'fans' over in Thailand would recognise him.
Guest MattP Posted 29 October 2011 Posted 29 October 2011 This is getting rather inbarresing for the club Ffs. I didn't think we were that boring under Pearson at all. The Forest 3-0 was brilliant. We weren't exactly a bundle of entertainment under Sven were we?
purpleronnie Posted 29 October 2011 Posted 29 October 2011 I said Neil Lennon the day we sacked Sven. seeming more and more likely now. No chance.
m00nie Posted 29 October 2011 Posted 29 October 2011 NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO boring, bottled it, and how can you comit after being sacked/forced out what ever...
dave the caveman Posted 29 October 2011 Posted 29 October 2011 Would welcome NP back because the man is competence personified but what would he do? Some of the players we have now aren't exactly the type I could see him getting on with. Would he ship out all the 'characters' and replace them with Hobbs, Fryatt and Waghorn? Things would be awkward for a while and even with NP's ability, we would probably have to write this season off as yet another (expensive) transition period. And that would be farcical, so just the kind of thing we can expect.
Bucks fox Posted 29 October 2011 Posted 29 October 2011 Arsene Wenger will be looking for a new job at this rate..................
Tielemans63 Posted 29 October 2011 Posted 29 October 2011 People should remember that we weren't exactly flush when NP was in charge. Guys like Hobbs, Fryatt and Waghorn did a job and only one of those players was bought by NP. Why do people think he'd want to re-sign these players? The football wasn't great but then the team had nowhere the level investment we see now. NP got players playing above themselves - if someone could do that with this lot we'd be flying.
jamesmilner Posted 29 October 2011 Posted 29 October 2011 pearson should never have been sacked but history is history . how the hell can the thais even want him back ? theyd look stupid . and how the hell can nigel even think of coming back ? it just doesnt make sense . a non starter even tho i rate pearson very highly .

And that would be farcical, so just the kind of thing we can expect. Competence personified? Pearson was a nearly man - a bloke who never showed the imagination and conviction to be a managerial winner (and no I don't count Division One where we still didn't impress for much of the time).. And if he got Hobbs, Fryatt and Waghorn back that would only emphasise my view because all three are "nearly" men. Players with a certain amount of ability but short of the real class necessary to achieve our aims. Of the people here right now I'd only say Beckford might struggle to get on with Pearson. But then anyone who remained an individual but could play a bit would probably fail to click with Pearson. The man sees only one way - his way. And, as it happens I agree with him over Beckford cos he's the sort of seemingly arrogant, self-focused individual who won't easily get any team up. Mackail-Smith on the other hand could be as individual as he liked. The bloke's shows real talent game in, game out, and the whole team would benefit whether he "fiitted in" as an individual or not. That we ended up with one instead of the other still leaves me bewildered. .
Thracian Posted 29 October 2011 Posted 29 October 2011 Ffs. I didn't think we were that boring under Pearson at all. The Forest 3-0 was brilliant. We weren't exactly a bundle of entertainment under Sven were we? Maybe I watched the wrong matches under both! For every 45 minutes of promise there were hours of frustration from what I saw.
