DJ Barry Hammond Posted 31 October 2011 Posted 31 October 2011 What's Jesus' managerial record like? Likes a small squad of around 12 (deciples) but one stabed him in the back last time. Rummours have been around about a second coming, but nothings surfaced so far. Personally, I think he's living off the back of his Dad's glory!
hackneyfox Posted 31 October 2011 Posted 31 October 2011 I don't think I've ever read a less true statement than this It wasn't a statement, it had a question mark at the end. Do you know him personally? Can you back up your statement?
Guest MattP Posted 31 October 2011 Posted 31 October 2011 Please not NFP. The man that signed Weale, Hobbs, Morrisson, N'Guessing, Fryatt And gave Dyer a 4 year contract. Two of those are wrong. Hobbs was our player of the year under him, Weale was actually great for a season. Despite all this "shit" he signed he took us to 5th in one season, what does that say about his managerial abilities? Wasn't NFP touting his arse around league clubs before he was sacked? Not that I have ever seen, heard or read. Though I hope he was considering what Mandaric was about to do to him.
Corky Posted 31 October 2011 Posted 31 October 2011 on the minus side he couldnt get anything out of campbell who went on to get blackpool promoted- so Np v Beckford will be interesting It was only really Martin Allen who got something out of Campbell- and he lasted three games.
Houdini Logic Posted 31 October 2011 Posted 31 October 2011 It wasn't a statement, it had a question mark at the end. Do you know him personally? Can you back up your statement? Actually it was a rhetorical question, which is a statement or figure of speech in the form of a question posed for its persuasive effect, and as such I inferred that you must be under the impression that Nigel Pearson was in fact 'touting his arse' around. Can I back up my statement? Well being that noone from the media reported he was looking elsewhere and being that he gave an Interview not long after moving to Hull saying that he was shocked that Leicester allowed Hull to speak to him and that itself made up his mind, I'd very much take from that that he wasn't planning on leaving and went to the first club that showed interest because of the way he was treated/what was going on behind the scenes. I'm sure though that you have something to the contrary? Otherwise that would look a bit silly...
eaststandtom Posted 31 October 2011 Posted 31 October 2011 Pearson has unfinished business here. who knows what went on but i think the rakriasksorns were probably ill advised in ,if they did, push for a 'name' manager when buying the club. do not underestimate the job he did here. regardless of that he possesses the quality which our talented squad doesnt possess. organisation. i'd drive him here myself
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 31 October 2011 Posted 31 October 2011 Get rid of Sven, and start talking about that bloody Pearson. What the f--k is going on? He never was, and never will be a better manager, than the man who was sacked. It will be a disaster to let him come back. :frusty:
Ricey Posted 31 October 2011 Posted 31 October 2011 Football fans must have the shortest memories in the world. I'd welcome Pearson back with open arms, not that I think it'll happen.

"In the Championship"
lestajigs Posted 31 October 2011 Posted 31 October 2011 10 pages, I thought there was something into this, WRONG!!!!!!!!!!
flowwolf Posted 31 October 2011 Posted 31 October 2011 Unfinished Business ? you have been watching to many cliched American TV , what next " have a nice day " :giggle: Pearson has unfinished business here. who knows what went on but i think the rakriasksorns were probably ill advised in ,if they did, push for a 'name' manager when buying the club. do not underestimate the job he did here. regardless of that he possesses the quality which our talented squad doesnt possess. organisation. i'd drive him here myself

Walshy5 Posted 31 October 2011 Posted 31 October 2011 Nigel Pearsons man management is fantastic! He managed to get the best out of players such as Weale Morrison Hobbs Fryatt etc. With the money we,ve got now i think he could do a brilliant jod here. Do the right thing Top, BRING NIGEL HOME! :scarf:
Corky Posted 31 October 2011 Posted 31 October 2011 flowwolf and DANGEROUS TIGER seem remarkably similar.
Kitchandro Posted 31 October 2011 Posted 31 October 2011 Maybe I watched the wrong matches under both! For every 45 minutes of promise there were hours of frustration from what I saw. For the first half of the 2009/10 season we were pretty boring to watch under Pearson. However, we got better and better as the season went on and by March/April we were playing some lovely stuff. The Forest game, the first half against Coventry at home (though in the second half we admittedly 'did a Sven': sat back and were punished) and we also beat Watford 4-1 and QPR 4-0. In fact the QPR away games is still one of the best performances for years. We were beginning to look a really good side at the end of that season and it hurts to think of what we could have done had he been here for the following one. It wasn't Barcelona-esque every game but it wasn't nearly as bad as some people make out. It's also a shame thinking about last season, when we played some great attacking football, and only really needed to sort out the defence and get a holding midfielder whilst retaining some pace and creativity. Instead we sarificed our attacking flair for clean sheets and it backfired too often.
Sniffer-Clarke Posted 31 October 2011 Posted 31 October 2011 I can remember the last City v Derby game under pearson it was absolutely crap
Leicesterpool Posted 31 October 2011 Posted 31 October 2011 I can remember the last City v Derby game under pearson it was absolutely crap We didn't score many goals under Pearson to be fair (when we were in the championship)

eaststandtom Posted 31 October 2011 Posted 31 October 2011 actually you are right. despite Pearson taking us on at our lowest ebb, building a team who, for the first time in years, played like it meant something to them to play for the city, gaining promotion, totally turning around the clubs outlook, acheiving 5th place in our first season back in the championship and being our most successful manager since you know who yeah i wouldnt want him back. and to clarify, at no point did i state he was a better manager than sven. being organised is one part of being a successful manager. sven wasnt that. fact. look at the evidence just off to watch entourage
look_back_in_amber Posted 1 November 2011 Posted 1 November 2011 I can remember the last City v Derby game under pearson it was absolutely crap Was that before or after Mandaric invited Sousa to watch his first Leicester game from the director's box? Just wondering because that must surely have been a slight demotivating factor for NP and his team. I reckon Manderic must have purchased every volume of 'Increase Your Motivational Skills by Phil Brown'
dannythefox Posted 3 November 2011 Posted 3 November 2011 I wonder if he could be returning? Very possible.

I reckon Manderic must have purchased every volume of 'Increase Your Motivational Skills by Phil Brown' No, it was about seven games from the end of the season. Pearson did really well but the Derby matches were dreadful under him. Sven's football was on another level against them.
Guest Posted 3 November 2011 Posted 3 November 2011 Of the five managers mentioned in the Mercury article at the moment I'd take Pearson without a second thought. Davis, Jones, Keane and Clark are not at the same level. Pearson would get us to the prem this season - I just hope he can embrace 1 touch attacking football. And not re-sign Matty.
teblin Posted 3 November 2011 Posted 3 November 2011 Ian Stringers twitter Expect lots of Pearson talk now - RT @talkSPORT: Lee Clarke to stay Huddersfield boss after ruling himself out of running for Leicester job
ARM1968 Posted 3 November 2011 Posted 3 November 2011 Not really the messiah though, more like Pontious Pilate!
