dannythefox Posted 7 November 2011 Posted 7 November 2011 He would sort us out big time, settle the ship and we would start moving forward. I cant speak for everybody but I would be surprised if well over half the fans want him back he a great bloke and very good at his job.
Sods Posted 7 November 2011 Posted 7 November 2011 Come back Nigel. Anyone doubting his ability to sign players is having a laugh, with a little bit more extra cash we would of had Mark Davies and possibly put a bid in for Cleverley, have a look at those players now. My word we need a player like that to be exited about and creating something. We are becoming a bit of a joke now, why did we wait till the last day to put an approach in for Pearson. Was it because O'Neill was taking so long? If so we could of hurried him up by putting in a approach a lot earlier to Pearson. Then the manager could of had 2 weeks after seeing that performance yesterday to work with, cant see us getting any one in this week, everything just seems to be rushed at the last minute. Didn't Pearson try signing Beckford a while back as well? Come on Nigel come back to Leicester City and make me proud of my team again.
Babylon Posted 7 November 2011 Posted 7 November 2011 After the stuff he said when he left about us not tryin to keep him etc I would be shocked if he resigned to come here. I'm still hoping for Davies so my bet pays for this waste of a season ticket

Captain... Posted 7 November 2011 Posted 7 November 2011 That is pretty obvious isn't it who wouldn't. Maybe someone who sees the potential in the club, who thinks that they can get the club to the promised land, or even someone who feels like there is unfinished business here, or who missed the fans, but if that is what he has said then it just goes to show that he is a mercenary and I don't want a mercenary in charge of our club. Di Matteo and Hughes would have wanted more than just the money to come here, maybe that is why they didn't. Davies and Jones would have had something to prove as would Lee Clark. MON, well he is just MON. I think of all the reasons to consider this job money should be the last one.
Guest Basildon Fox Posted 7 November 2011 Posted 7 November 2011 He did a great job on a very limited budget, got the best out of his players, the only disappointment in his reign was that we didn't win the Johnson's Paint Trophy. Until he left, until he walked out on us for Hull. Whatever Mandy's involvement he walked out on us for Hull. Reading what he is supposed to have said in the Mirror, he is coming back to Leicester for the money, http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Leicester-fight-Hull-to-bring-back-Nigel-Pearson-as-Sven-Goran-Eriksson-replacement-article828159.html All this nonsense about he wouldn't have left if we had refused to let Hull talk to him, has proven to be bolox if he quits Hull to come to us. I have lost a lot of respect for him, I think he will do a very good job for us, may even sign a winger, but I will never love him the way I did after that play-off semi in Cardiff. What a load of cack that is. Do you really thnk he left us to go to Hull for money? :: If he comes back on better wages then good for him. He was forced out before and from the interview he gave does not feel appreciated at Hull. I hope he comes back to get his rightful opportunity to have a crack at the job here with proper money to spend. He may fail, he may not, but he deserves a hearty welcome back as he should never have been forced out in the first place.

Callabinho Posted 7 November 2011 Posted 7 November 2011 He should be holding talks today! Or tomorrow! He clearly wants to carry on the project he started.

Sniffer-Clarke Posted 7 November 2011 Posted 7 November 2011 I personally pay to support my team but also to be entertained, I don't buy into this it doesn't matter how we play if we win bollocks. I'm afraid it does to me. If we won 1-0 today for example after playing like that against Leeds I wouldn't have come away happy, satisfied, but hardly any talking points were there? And that was the case too often in the Championship under Pearson, a lack of goals and miserable football but yet we somehow made the playoffs. I suppose our team reflected the manager, Mr Misery himself. And Hull are no different this season, maybe it's his way? If so his way isn't for me. I'd take him over Keane, Jones and Davies. But I'd much rather we went for a Mark Hughes or Di Matteo, a reappointment of Pearson brings no excitement. Yes, I think that is about spot on,the last derby game i seen under NP was City v Derby it was absolutely crap boring football.,nothing like the City v Deby this season under sven
ARM1968 Posted 7 November 2011 Posted 7 November 2011 Those questioning Pearson's loyalty are daft. We mix our emotions into the equation because we love our team. Managers are hired to do a job, not share our feelings. If Pearson comes back and next week someone offered him £10 million a year he'd be off, so would you or I from our jobs. No question. And that's just it for him, a job. He will do well if he returns. Not quite MON, but nowhere near Keane.
Ric Flair Posted 7 November 2011 Posted 7 November 2011 I want him, especially given the level of dross we have been linked with bar O'Neill and Hughes. I'd have Nigel Pearson back over Lee Clark who has been the only serious candidate from what I can recall. The O'Neill rumours are fairly unfounded, just like they were a year ago when they appointed Sven. We may have held talks with O'Neill but it's obvious it was a mere pipe dream to get him back. Mark Hughes or Di Matteo would have been ideal for us, but again i've seen minimal genuine links to either manager and/or an interest from them. Fourth_Official says that we wanted Hughes and he has often been right but I can't see how we'd not appoint him if that was the case. So that leaves Billy Davies, Roy Keane and Dave Jones. Two of them are odius men of the highest order and one of them has fooked up a very strong Cardiff squad for the past few seasons. None of them are any better than Nigel Pearson who knows this club inside out. Pearson feels right to me, he should never have gone in the first place. Whoevers fault it was, that doesn't matter now. If the Thai's want him and Nigel is up for coming back wholeheartedly then this will work. The nucleus of our squad is already good enough to challenge for promotion and with one or two new faces we still have a chance this season. I will be delighted to have the miserable sod back and unless i've had a lobotomy, I thought we played some very good football under Pearson home and away? I find some of the stuff written about him disrespectful and utter bollocks and i'm growing a massive dislike for some of my fellow Leicester fans. So Pearson coming back will make it all the more glorious. Bring that Brady lad with yer!

He could do that anyway, but that would be very calculating if he did. I'd find it amusing though and couldn't blame him. I badly want him back though, this club needs a man like him. We aren't successful as a flashy outfit, it just leads to embarrassment.

Captain... Posted 7 November 2011 Posted 7 November 2011 Yes, I think that is about spot on,the last derby game i seen under NP was City v Derby it was absolutely crap boring football.,nothing like the City v Deby this season under sven To be honest I would much rather see a performance like QPR away under Pearson, than watching us roll over very poor opposition, that may just be me, but I love a gritty backs to the wall scrambled 1-0 away win, than beating Derby or Watford without breaking a sweat. They are the kind of performances we haven't seen under Sven this season, and apart from maybe Sheff United away I can't think of many last season. We would never have had the Ipswich debacle under Pearson either. These are the kind of performances that will get us up and once we are up every game will be like that. Under Sven we seemed to think we were better than the opposition and deserved to win, and when we weren't winning we didn't know how to change it. Pearson will be a better championship manager than Sven it will be interesting to see how he copes with having money to spend and big egos to deal with, I am right in thinking it was hime who got rid of Bullard (although that may have been his wages as much as his ego).

escos Posted 7 November 2011 Posted 7 November 2011 It's all very well saying we should get Hughes or O'Neill, trouble is they don't want to manage us! If rumours are true Pearson does.

I dunno mate, that 5-1 drubbing against Forest was pretty inept. Pearson always knew how to stop a slump though, that was Sven's problem, he struggled. I remember around March/April time in both 2009 and 2010 we had a minor rough patch under Pearson and it looked like we were going to blow it but then he somehow got us scraping a win and the monkey was off our backs and then we marched on towards the League title in '09 and then 5th place in 2010 with 6 straight wins.
Happy Fox Posted 7 November 2011 Posted 7 November 2011 He wouldn't waste the money like Sven did in the transfer market would clearly identify we need wingers and a Mark Davies type midfielder.
