He did a great job for us, and got forced out by Milan. always felt like he had unfinished business with us and it would be nice for him to come back and finish it by taking us up!

Indeed it was, I took my son too and we got there early and sat on the front row to avoid big guys and pylons. When Howard scored he ran straight to us and we joined in the celebrations with the players. Forget Premier leagues and big money investments, this is really what football is all about when we boil it down. Great nights in the midst of regular disappointment! The sad thing is, my son was with me today and said afterwards about the club he has great passion for "I couldn't care less at the minute" I'm starting to feel bad that I have inflicted the years of pain that I have lived through (with the glorious exception of 96-2001) on to my children. However, I could no longer stop supporting Leicester than stab myself in the knee so here's to the next chapter of hurt.

What you say is one of the reasons I plead for attacking, positive football.

Kids - our new fans - aren't going to be interested in games were nothing happens to get them away from their mobile phones. All the emphasis is on money, greed, the promised lands of Premiership and European glories and he megabucks that go wih them but there can be so much to be said about a night match in the snow at Walsall or the drizzle at Accrington.

Somehow modern football was summed up last night when, after the most turgid display from our team, I found all the fans squeezed into a narrow walkway so some bigwig's black Rolls Royce could be cocooned and protected.

To me it stood as a sentinel of insult to our fans. Something mocking as if to say, this is what you mugs pay for by attending and supporting that shit. Now move over in case you dirty my car.

At first I did'nt want Pearson back.

But then I thought about it.

1/ He has an excellent record with us all be it not playing the most flowing attacking football in the World.

2/ The staff at the club in the main know him and respect / like him very much which will help with the transition.

3/ He knows quite a few of the players and their strengths / limitations which will also speed up the bedding in process.

4/ Unlike under Mandaric he is going to have significant financial backing which should allow him to build a formidable side.

5/ We've shipped far too many goals this season and one thing Pearson does know is how to build a solid defence.

6/ He wont suffer any lightweights / shirkers within the squad and I think some of our players need a firmer hand than Sven showed them.

7/ Compared to having Keane / Dowie / Benitez / Grant etc etc as our Manager I will take Pearson all day long.

Not for me. I think he did a good job with us first time and I will always appreciate it, but I don't believe now that he's the right man to take us forward from this moment.

It's clear MON won't be returning so as I've stated previously I would like Hughes, and failing that, Di Matteo.

Chris Weale - very good bar one mistake in that season

Robbie Neilson - agreed

Ryan McGivern - agreed

Hobbs - absolutely immense under Pearson, didn't look limited at all then. In fact he's still no more limited than Mills or St Ledger, and cost a fraction of the price of both.

Morrison - Agreed, but he had a very reasonable season under Nige in the Championship (and was played at right back which is his best position, since he was played at Centre back where he was completely out of his depth)

Dyer - Agreed to some extent but is a good sub at this level

N'Guessan - Agreed, most of the time, had the odd matchwinning game of brilliance.

Adams - I actually thought he was promising and could have been used more often, but probably punching above his weight.

He also signed Wellens, Gallagher, Berner, Waghorn, Vaughan and Spearing, all of whom performed very well in this division. (2 of which are playing in the Premiership now)

So I conclude that he signed a couple of awful players, some good ones and some average ones. The thing that you are overlooking is that all of them performed to the best of their ability. Whilst some have proven to be average/poor since he left, doesn't it say something that he made them look so good? I don't remember anyone questionning that Hobbs looked the best centre back in the league under Pearson, he was brilliant. Weale didn't look the clown he does now and neither did Morrison. And as a team, we were quite a bit better than on paper.

So whilst most of the players he got were not exactly amazing, they were mostly very good signings because of the way they played for him. And that is what he's paid for, it's not his job to get them to perform after he's left. We played as a team and profited from that, it helped the players play to their best without being relied on to produce something only by themselves. It was a unit. The important thing when judging a manager is not how you judge the individuals but how his team did as a whole. The signings were excellent because they were bargains, not because they were clones of Messi.

Now he's going to have a lot more money this time and a lot better squad to build on than when he came in 2008. I don't know whether it will work out, it's a different job in a number of ways, expectation levels are higher and there are question marks about whether he can take our team to new heights in terms of performance and whether he will get the best out of a different kind of player (i.e will he be able to release the flair or will he stifle our talent).

But I don't see where your coming from in terms of signings, or even if it's an indicator of the players he will sign this time around, with such a financial difference.

NP did an excellent job for us, he knows the division, he knows better than the vast majority how to get 3 points come game day, thats the most important thing in a manager, I want results!

I just listened to the BBC Humberside interview after the WHU game, NP in short says speak to the club (Hull) about it. NP seems like an individual who likes to be wanted, LCFC dropped a major bollock putting a big name before on pitch success, we have wasted the past season, I'd love to see us get back on track!

It says alot that we shouldn't have got rid of NP in the first place, we have tried the high profile route it didn't work, in this division you need hard working unfancied managers NP fits the bill. He will do a good job here will provide stability, he will be given funds in the January transfer market (£10m?), will put us firmly in the playoff positions and then pushing for top two if we gather a momentum of results welcome home NP.

And how much did the whole lot cost us? Free, Free, Loan, 400k, Small tribunal fee, Free, Small tribunal fee. When you are dealing in the bargain basement it's hard to find quality every time.

Plus Weale, Hobbs, Morrison and Dyer were all absolutely fine under Pearson. The guy had an extremely limited budget and got us into the playoffs with it.

People keep going on about dull football with not many goals. But my main memory is about how many chances our strikers were missing more than anything. We created a load of chances but could never but them away. The same seems to be happening at Hull also (Fryatt and Waghorn).

Under Nigel, we signed Vaughan, Cleverley, Spearing, Davies on loan which is something we have all wanted to see - a manager looking at the reserves at Liverpool, Manchester United etc.

I have a lot of respect for what Nigel Pearson did at Leicester, regardless of whether he wants to come back or not.

Pearson would be given a big contract – with a huge ­promotion bonus – if Leicester can pull off the coup.

He has said that he will make the decision for the good of his family, and the terms available are too good to refuse.

I have lost a lot of respect for him, I think he will do a very good job for us, may even sign a winger, but I will never love him the way I did after that play-off semi in Cardiff.

We don't appear to have too many options available to us. The fact that we are going for NP and approaching a manager in employment speaks volumes. We are a shambles.

Considering our apparent lack of options I can't think of any alternatives other than Hughes or Davies. MON will not come back either.

Yes, many of us complained when NP was here and delivering dour, predictable football at times but at least it generated results. The way things stand at the minute, I don't care how the next win comes, the fact of the matter is this league is so **** poor, one or two wins puts us in a strong position. As unbelievable as it seems, and as poor as we are, we're not far off the top 6.

NP would bring what we are severely lacking in at the moment - organisation, a team approach, a strong unit both defensively and, hopefully, in an attacking sense as well - considering the personnel at our disposal this ought to be a given.

He'd sort it out, I have no doubts of that.

Taking it back to when he was "pushed" out of the club, thanks to Mandaric, we're still repairing the damage done there. Perhaps turning back the clock 18 months isn't such a bad thing. We had a direction back then, a purpose, an organised, effective unit. Now, we're a bunch of "names which look good on paper" and nothing more.

We need NP.
